Childhood nostalgia was not enough to make this feel like a good read. I liked the magic system and there was a lot of potential, but a book where the MC can do no wrong and the whole plot unravels point after point (and then... And then... And then... Ad infinitum) gets old very fast.

An interesting take on the idea if a dragon being a magic user and becoming a teacher to a young man who is determined t save the dragon.

One good book

I got this book as a freebie.
If the series is as good this will be on par with with Sarah K. L. Wilson's dragon series. I will buy and read this series

These are not sufficiently Potteresque to be great adult reads. They're probably good for middle school-ish, or younger (no one dies, or is even permanently harmed, no sex, no romance, no swearing, etc.), but for most adults they'll be too simple and shallow.

silly and childish with a very predictable plot. Good for small children but not for older than 10.
