This was such a moving story to read for the Christmas season. I identified with the characters and often found myself deep in personal thoughts as I read the book.
Sam is the bad boy of town come back as the new town minister. Nic~Nicolette the good girl that made a mistake and Willa the special needs child. The story is filled with Southern themes and personalities. I expected to look around and see my own childhood family.
The story is a Christian themed romance and beautifully written. I became so engrossed in the story that I found that I had to read in sections as it touched me too deeply to read straight through. I hope that those who enjoy Spiritual Romance will read this story.

I liked this book. I expected it to be a very simple trite Christmas romance, but it had more substance than the usual stories. I also appreciated the focus on Christmas. It wasn't just set during Christmas, Christmas was integral to the story.

This clean Christian romance was something I found free on Amazon. It wasn't horrible or anything, I read the whole thing, I just couldn't get into the book. The story was fine, the dialog was fine, it all worked out with the expected happy ending. I just didn't enjoy it that much. It felt a little Jodi Picoult-ish at the beginning with all the people and all the problems converging and pointing towards harsh revelations and dire situations but then it kind of flattened out. I became frustrated with the number of times the "big reveal" was put off, the story became too much like a soap opera where the twist everyone sees coming takes weeks to actually arrive. The waiting just killed the pace of the book instead of adding suspense. The level of preaching was fine for me but didn't always seem to fit smoothly in the story.

A perfect Christmas Story
I promised myself I would read Christmas stories throughout December this year and I couldn't have picked a better one to start with. A very heart warming story of true love, family and faith in God, made even better by a cast of wonderful, unique, quirky characters and an amazing little girl that tugged at my heart throughout the entire book. An excellent Christmas read. Thank you!

Great clean Christian read!!
One of the best, most hopeful, enjoyable reads I have experienced in a long time! I am fixing to start book two of the series and can’t wait! As we all know 2020 has been a hard year and a lighthearted story is so comforting and healing even if it is fiction! So hard to find good clean fiction in this day and hour. This read will remind you that we all are human and definitely focuses on the reason for the season!! I highly recommend!

Even though minister Sam has changed from his bad boy days in high school, people of the small town have long memories. Nic is so focused on doing what's best for her daughter that she can't see the big picture. And sweet little Willa is the star of the show. A sweet story of redemption, love, and family.

This was a short, at times predictable read. It was written very well and I do like the way everything ended. I know I keep saying it, but, it was a heart-warming story. What else can you say about holiday stories? Lol It's good, just read it!

Ahh, sigh. Started reading Christmas books and decided to knock this one off my Paperwhite list. I was hoping it was going to be better than the last book --- and indeed it was --- but there were still lots of problems with it. (I guess I'm just still reveling in my last good book and nothing is coming up to par.) It was billed to be an eccentric compliation of a crazy funny family and their adventures, and I suppose it was to an extent. It just seemed to me that the author was trying too hard. Some parts of the book they were crazy family, some parts they were just normal, and you just never know which way it was going to go. I will say, though, that Aunt Bert, was consistently my favorite!
I will confess, though, that this is the first in a series and it may be that even though I did not care for the book I may find myself reading the others simply to see what happens to these folks. Ready to move on ...

Fun! A "merry" story for the season!
I love reading Christmas books from thanksgiving to new years... a tradition I began several years ago. I have my favs that I cycle through, but I always like to try at least one new book or author. Because of the business of the season, this is the time of year I enjoy light reading. Nothing heavy or too dramatic...but I still need some substance. Annie Jones delivered just that with the Christmas Sisters. Light, joyful, maybe a little formulaic but still enough plot and drama to make it interesting and enjoyable. I probably won't read this particular story again but I will search for other Christmas stories of hers for next year.

The Season's Blessings
This was a very emotional story, especially when it concerned Willa . I loved how the author has a compassionate feel for the innocent, damaged children and the ones who love and tend them. The sisters and their extended families were an interesting assortment of individuals. It summed up the true message of Christmas.

Binge Reading Worthy
I grabbed book one because it was free and because I love stories about Christmas. I was not anticipating to fall in love with the Dorsey sisters or Persuasion. I have given 5 stars because by the time you finish book one you will be thrilled to see the series in KU. I'm off to read the rest~

Nice change
A lovely story about the complexities of family, especially during the holidays. Everything in God's time, not ours. Sometimes we just aren't ready to receive his promises. Nice to read a book good enough to share the gospel.

Too heavy for Christmas reading
Probably my mistake, but I thought this would be a more light hearted story taking place around Christmas. While the story isn’t bad, it’s much heavier dealing with family issues and mistakes of the past.

The love of a sister is true
Not perfect but true.
They call you out when it needs to be done. But they stand behind you when the going gets rough.
Throw in an old love needing repair, and a marriage gone old, needing repair and you have the makings of a good story.

now i am hooked. This was such a great, easy and creative book. i was hooked after the first page.
The characters were easy to fall in love with and follow, along with the story. the author made the mental visions so easy and vivid of the surroundings and the characters actions felt so real.
i would highly recommend this author and this book.

I'll fly away oh glory 🕊
I enjoyed this book scans it showed how God can take a lost soul and make a new beginning. I loved the child Like faith Will a had. That God can change any thing around if you let him. Having lost my sister I love the closeness the three sisters have. I miss that. You felt as if you were there in the story.

Do Not Give Up On This Book!!
It took a little while for me to "get into" this book and I very nearly decided to give up. I'm glad I didn't.
This was a very well written story of a family of sisters who alway "went home" for Christmas with their families. The main character is a single-mother who wants to sell the family home so she can afford to send her brain damaged daughter to a special school. The daughter is delightful, just a little slow, but sweet. The interaction of the family with this little girl and the love they all have for each other is wonderful.
The local bad-boy who was told never to come back to the church has now returned as the new minister. Because of his past deeds he is having trouble just getting the regular flock to come to church services. His struggle with his faith and his love and interaction with this special little girl is heart-warming and ends up being what he really needs to show the locals to see that he is indeed a changed person.
I really enjoyed this book by an author I had never read before. I didn't want to put it down.
(Something I will always remember is when the girl asked the minister "Where is Jesus?". You'll have to read the book to find out the answer!)

This is a Christian romance, about a man who becomes a minister, and returns to help the people in his home town, and to reconnect with his first love. Sam was a bad boy from the wrong part of town. He left his love, Nic, broken hearted, after promising to take her away and marry her. Many of the towns people don't want Sam in their town, and they don't want him as their minister. Nic has an eight and a quarter year old daughter, Willa, who was born after Sam left town nine years before. Willa has problems learning due to a brain injury, which probably occurred during birth.

A free e-book . It's much more than just a romance story. I loved the three sisters and their extended family in a small town in the South. Nic, one of the sister's , has a brain damaged eight year old daughter Willa who is so sweet. I will remember Willa's question to Sam, the minister, "where is Jesus?" If you do not believe in God this is not a book for you. Toward the end Sam gives a wonderful sermon to his church members on Christmas. He shows many of the local's by his words and actions that he is a changed person since nine years earlier. Great Christmas story.

This is the first book by Annie Jones that I've read. I definitely enjoyed it and will be checking out her other books as soon as I get through with my current list of must-read books.
The main theme of the story is whether or not it IS possible to go back to your hometown even if you had a scandal in your past. When the people involved are true followers of Christianity, they realize that everyone makes mistakes and deserves a 2nd chance. The rest of the townspeople don't really matter in the long run, although some of them do cause trouble for the main characters.
