Rebecca Powers, aid to her ambassador father, was on board a food aid ship to promote the new international treaty when pirates struck. Under attack, she and her father are separated, hiding from the pirates. “Zone” Zdenko’s navy SEAL team is tasked to board the ship, take out the pirates, and get to the ambassador and his daughter before they are taken hostage. Zone had previously gone out with Rebecca before and is determined to be one of the SEAL squad going on board for the extraction.
Jenn, as everyone calls her, likes to keep things simple. That's why she runs a roofing construction business, teaches, writes and does her own business taxes eight days a week. She considers herself a multi-cultural and well-rounded person. Workers leave her alone when she starts yelling at them in Chinese and Malay. She also studies German and Russian because she can't pronounce French very well. The most boring and interesting thing she ever did was translating documents from various languages into English, giving her an opportunity to see many countries. Having traveled extensively in her twenties, she now spends her thirties quietly with six noisy dogs. Shameless Promotion: Jenn was a RWA contest slut, having finaled in and won a bunch of them including the Marlene, the Merritt, and Indiana's Golden Opportunity. She is also a three-time finalist in the RWA Golden Heart contest before she became published. She would love to hear your comments about her books. She has been known to give away bookmarks and stuff to those who praise her.
AND, if your roof leaks, she can probably give you some advice!
Here are some wonderful writing friends of mine. I love their books! Please visit their sites and give them a try. Be careful. They are HOT WRITERS. Very addictive! Thanks--Jenn
I've always been a fan of Gennita Low's military hero books. The only bad things about this novella was the fact its too short and the cheesy title. The story is a fast read that covers a rescue, so you are starting in the middle of a relationship, so there's no real character development, what you have is a snapshot of a story line, and I think its very well done. If you haven't had a chance to pick up one of Gennita Low's full length novels, go for it- I've never read anything bad from this author, This is just a snippet if her writing style.
The previous crossfire stories were entertaining & easy to read. I realize this is a short story, very short, but it fell flat. The sentences were choppy with no flow to the story.
Rebecca Powers and her Ambassador father are hiding on a ship held by pirates. It’s up to Zodenko Zonovich and his team to take back control and rescue the hostages. For Zone, that particularly means Rebecca.
Another capable heroine, always a plus to me. If this entry is any indication of the quality of the rest of the series, I may need to read more. 4 out of 5.
A short novella about a couple who were involved and still are in a way but his job and hers is a problem. Even in the short length I liked the characters and wouldn't mind reading more about them.
