DCI Wade #1

Grind Their Bones

Rate this book
The original ‘Gray Man’ was Albert Fish - serial killer, rapist and cannibal - who was executed in New York’s Sing Sing prison in January 1936 for the murder of Grace Budd, but was believed to have been responsible for the deaths of up to one hundred people.

Some tricks are worth repeating and some tastes never die, so enter the new ‘Grey Man’, a gourmet serial killer, who is itching to get his teeth into his next victim.

And if the gruesome results of the killer’s classic cuisine are not chilling enough for Detective Chief Inspector Zara Wade who is leading the investigation, he claims to know her, and that she knows him.

These crime story books are ridiculously common. Strong willed female detective protagonist. Personal connection to a serial killer case.
But nonetheless, I enjoy them most of the time. Easy to read and easy to keep my attention.
There were a few errors in the format of the ebook which is always a big off put but it didn't bother me too much because of how easy it was to read still.
I must have been ridiculously worn out reading this because I didn't see the clearly predictable twist coming, this probably added to my enjoyment of it as I'm not usually fooled.
The ending was rushed and just a summer of events, I've found this to be common in these kind of stories.
The title of the book didn't really reflect the content in my opinion. But I don't really care about this too much from a free ebook.

Overall it was fairly enjoyable, quick easy and attention grabbing. Nothing special, but not a disappointment.

Terrific

I’ve had this book a very long time back to when I had the first kindle fire. The I got an iPad mini and transferred all my books on to that. I’m in hospital at the moment and had a look at the stories on my kindle app. Couldn’t stop reading it one of the best books I’ve read in a long time I’m sorry I’ve finished it now

Skin FOR Skin

This is a very entertaining story with great characters and an exciting plot. Mystery, intrigue, and a storyline that wraps the reader in a desire to continue reading until the end. Great Read!

Not many readers will be surprised by the unfolding plot but nonetheless it builds to an exciting crescendo. My main problem is I never found the Wade - Mead partnership very convincing and the author missed the opportunity to heighten the tension arising from the potential conflicts of interests in their relationship.

Predictable serial killer fodder. I guessed the 'twist' half way through and spent the rest of the book yawning.
It's ok if you just want a quick simple read that doesn't tax your brain too much. Unfortunately the grammatical errors and some typos also added to my annoyance with this book. I do NOT recommend this if you want to think.

Entertaining but predictable

This was a fun read. The killer was predictable and the ending anticlimactic but it was worth the read. I'd recommend it for a beach read any day
