The Navy Seal's promise was a cute and heartwarming read. It was the first novel I'd read by Soraya Lane. It was quick paced and flowed smoothly. It was a short read and still it left me with a smile on my face.

The story is about Luke Gray, a Navy SEAL who meets United States Army Corporal Saskia Cullen on a flight. Saskia is headed home for Christmas on 48 hours leave hoping to see her son. But unfortunately she finds herself stranded on JFK due to a snowstorm. This is when Luke decides to help the beautiful woman he met on the flight by making sure she reaches home to her son for Christmas.

Luke and Saskia both have unfavorable pasts with Luke losing his wife three years ago to Cancer and Saskia hurting due to the fact that their son's father wants nothing to do with them. It was amazing to see how both of them managed to know and understand each other so well in such a shot span of time. It never once made me feel like it was unreal.

I loved the conversations between Luke and Saskia. The epilogue was just so sweet. I enjoyed seeing their happy ending. Soraya Lane's writing style is to the point while delivering characters to whom we can instantly relate to. If you're looking for a sweet quick contemporary romance The Navy Seal's Promise is definitely the book for you.

Fantastic story. I connected with Saskia and Luke right away. With only two days before she had to return overseas, Saskia is heartbroken when weather cancels her flight home to see her son. Her seatmate on the previous flight, Luke is drawn to the sexy soldier and promises that he will get her home. I could feel Saskia's love for her son and her desperation to make it home to see him. There was also her connection with Luke, something that was totally unexpected for her. She couldn't believe he would go to that much trouble for someone he didn't know. Luke started out as seeing Saskia as a pleasant distraction from his bad memories of the season. I loved the way he pulled out all the stops to get her home. I also thought that the way they were able to relate to each other was very well done, thanks to the way they were both military and therefore had common experiences and outlooks. Their trip from JFK to Buffalo was great, and the love scene was hot! I also loved the way that her family immediately made him welcome - also a very military thing to do. The conclusion to the story was oh so satisfying - I could picture it happening!

THE NAVY SEAL'S PROMISE by author Soraya Lane is a September 2012 release.

United States Army Corporal Saskia Cullen comes home just for 48hrs to spend Christmas with her son. But her connecting flight is grounded due to heavy snow.

Navy SEAL Luke Gray just met her on the flight but for some reason he can't see Saskia disappointed and vows to make her meet her son and fulfill her promise. Why does Luke want to do this for a starnger? Why would he want to make a stranger fulfill her promise to a loved one?

Then he calls in a favor and gets the army humvee to drive her home through the snow. And they have scorching chemistry between them and are attracted to each other. Well, on the way they do get stuck, and how do they spend the time in the hummer? Luke didn't even know that it was a secret fantasy of his to make love in the back of the military hummer!

The sensuality in the love scene is astounding. There are some choice words but as part of the dialogue it was well placed.

I loved it! It was fun with sassy dialogue. Very fast paced as I read it in just one sitting. Highly emotional.

Well worth reading.

Navy SEAL’s Promise is by Soraya Lane. Saskia is on a plane on her way home for Christmas. Unfortunately, it will be a quick visit of only 2 days. She will take what she can get to see her son for Christmas. She knows he will be eagerly awaiting her visit. However, when she wakes up, she is snuggled up to the man sitting next to her. Embarrassed, she sits up and begins to apologize; but he tells her there is no problem. About that time, the plane hits turbulence and he gets a little jumpy. He says he has been in worse turbulence; but then he was in a Navy jet.
Luke Gray is a Navy SEAL. He is on his way to San Diego for some rest. He does not have any family to go home to. When he sees that she will not be able to get a plane out in the morning, he tells her he will get her to Buffalo for Christmas if she will eat dinner with him. She agrees to dinner but doesn’t think he will be able to get them to Buffalo.
Luke calls in a favor and the next morning a Hummer is waiting for them. Now to home the storm doesn’t get worse and they get stuck.

This independent release from Harlequin Mills and Boon author Soraya Lane topped the Amazon charts recently. It's a heartwarming love story which tells us that the little things are just as important as the big things - sometimes.

Luke can hardly believe that the beautiful woman who's been sleeping on his shoulder for most of the plane journey is a soldier, US Army Corporal Saskia Cullen. Corporal Cullan is home on 48 hours leave to spend Christmas with her young son. But as the airport is enveloped with swirling snowflakes, the likelihood of Saskia reaching home diminishes. Will her journey end in tears and will she have to turn back and return to duty? Luke, a military man, albeit in a different branch of service has no one waiting for him at home after the death of his wife and parents. He resolves there and then to move every obstacle to get this woman home to spend the holidays with her son. He calls in a favour that was owed to him and like the gallant braveheart he grants the fair lady her wish. The two fall in love on the road and their passionate love scenes look set to melt the snow and ice around them. But once the modern day knight grants the lady her wish, is this the end of the story? Or is there a future for this couple who met by total accident?

This is a story which tells us that in these troubled times, heroes still exist. It's a story which reiterates our belief in love and family and the fact is that in life, it is the little things - like spending Christmas with your child - that really matter. Everything else is just incidental.

A heartwarming read which is perfect for the coming winter season.

THE NAVY SEAL’S PROMISE by Soraya Lane

THE NAVY SEAL’S PROMISE is a short story from Soraya Lane’s contemporary romance line of novels. Like many novellas, the storyline is quick paced, to the point and the romance is heartwarming.

The story focuses on two members of the military home for the holidays when they find themselves stranded in a snowstorm at the airport on Christmas Eve. Saskia Cullen is a corporal in the army, on 48 hours leave, hoping to see her young son on Christmas Day before her return to duty, and Luke Gray, a Navy SEAL who is home for a few days before his next assignment.

Both Luke and Saskia are looking for something but neither is aware that the someone is right in front. Luke lost his wife to cancer three years earlier and has not celebrated the holidays since the SEALs refused to give him leave to visit his dying wife. Saskia hides a painful past knowing her son’s father wants nothing to do with her military career or a child. Seeing the sorrow on Saskia’s face, Luke knows there is only one option, and he calls in a favor to get Saskia home for the holidays. Luke promises Saskia that he will get her home for Christmas dinner and in true Navy SEAL fashion, Luke keeps his word.

THE NAVY SEAL’S PROMISES is a sweet story of romance. There is no secret agenda, no covert operation and the adults know what they want. No one pushes the other away and both make another promise to see each other again. If you like a love story with a HEA this one is sure to please.

"Her saviour. Her knight on a white horse somehow promising to get her where she needed to be."

This book just screams sweetness! I expected a bit more hard ass characters in this since they were in military, but no. Saskia is so feminine and cute, while Luke seems like a man-next-door/knight-in-shining-armor kind of guy. I can easily forget them being in the military and get lost in the story.

A chance meeting that turned into something. I love the fast-paced plot that didn't gave room for drama or conflict. Well other than their schedules, but you know what I mean. The author made such lovable characters that I wish we had the chance to get to know more.

I really wish this was longer. There were parts I'd really want to discover and I wish there was enough space/time to see these nice characters develop. Also, I want to have more scenes with Jack. The lines were just perfect—not cheesy but not boring. I also love how the love scene was written. It wasn't just sex. It was sensual and intimate. And although it was too soon to call their affections for each other, love, it seems like it was present in that scene.

For the second time, Lane did an awesome job in make us fall in love with her story and characters. This is a story about family, promises and finding love when you least expect it.

Trying to get home to see your son ,getting stranded on the way with a sexy as sin Navy Seal ...sounds very appealing right well of course it does !

Soraya Lane is a new author to me and I have never read her work before so I in all honesty did not know what to expect as I have long been a fan of romance and also of Navy Seal/Military books but I have my selected authors that I know will incorporate enough military tit bits into the book to perfectly mix in with the romance.

I very quickly learned that Mrs Lane knows her stuff and also managed to transport me into the lives of two stunning characters Saskia and Luke were both powerful in their own right, independent and very likeable. The passion level between both was absolutely perfectly written and the scenes were vivid enough for me to escape to the world every woman dreams of.

I felt connected with all characters in the book which from my experience is not something just any author can manage,it takes a special kind of something for me to feel emotionally involved with what I am reading on the page and to really feel the level of emotion the author packed into her work.

Soraya managed this perfectly and so much more. I was entranced, and completely in love with every single second and the ending my oh my I could just die from happiness !

Well done Soraya keep it coming !

This was such a fantastic story to read. Not only was it a great story line but the relationship between the two characters had such chemistry that the reader could easily find themselves getting involved with what happens next.
Saskia Cullen has a 48 hour leave from the Army and is looking forward to spending Christmas with her young son. Luke Gray is a Navy SEAL and is also home on a short leave. When a terrible snowstorm shuts down the airport and all connecting flights have been cancelled, Saskia feels like she will have to go back without being able to see her son. Even though Luke had just met her during the first flight together, Luke will do what ever it takes to help Saskia to get home to her son(even if it means driving through the snow storm to get her home). Luke is dealing with his own personal reasons for wanting to do this for a complete stranger.
I enjoyed reading this story as these two strangers set out on a mission of their own to make a little boys & his mother's Christmas wish come true. The only complaint I have with this book is I did not want it to end!!! It would be wonderful to see a sequel and find out how Luke & Saskia are doing.

I know that this story will for sure be on a my list to read again!!

After reading The Navy Seal's Promise, I read most of the reviews and the negative comments about how 48 hour leaves were not given, not giving leave in the last few months of deployment, etc. This is a story or fantasy and the author has the right to write her fantasy to fit her story line. I personally do not read fiction to see how close it is to reality; I have enough reality everyday.

The two main characters were both strong personalities and I liked how the author used the common strong points to build the relationship quickly. Both had strong moral values and feelings about family; they both suffered a loss. His was his wife's death to cancer and hers an ex-husband that left not just her but their son as well. This common type of experience played well into the development of their relationship.

Luke was strong, not just physically but emotionally too. He showed his values by making a commitment to get her home to her son and making it happen. He wasn't all good guy but a human that wanted a beautiful attractive woman and the love scene was hot in the back of the truck.

The ending was happy but left open as to these twos future. Could the author have another story planned for them?

My review:

The Navy Seal's Promise by Soraya Lane is a sweet and lovable novella with wonderful characters. It is well written and easy to read. The only thing I was sorry about was the length of the novella, it was too short! I would have wanted to read more about the main characters.

US Army Corporal Saskia Cullen is on her way home for Christmas. She has only two days to get home to visit her son an be back again on dutie. During her flight to US she meets Luke who is also on his way back home. Saksia quickly realizes that Luke is a Navy Seal and they have a lot in common.

When her flight lands in JFK, she is stuck due to heavy snowfall and her connecting flight is cancelled. Luke is promising to bring her home for Christmas for her son. He uses the connections he has to get a car and drives in a snowstorm. The storm gets bad and they have to stop and there are doubts if Saskia will be on time or not.

As mentioned, I truly enjoyed the story, I just wish it was longer. :)

It was very heartwarming story, a perfect read for Christmas time!

United States Army Corporal Saskia Cullen has 48 hours leave, just enough time to spend Christmas with her son. The problem is that she's snowed in and it looks as if she won't make it home on time. Her knight in shining armor is the sexy Luke Gray that she meets on her plane. He knows what her life is like because he's a Navy Seal. He makes her a promise that he'd get her home in time for Christmas dinner, calling in a favor to make it happen.

On the way, they find they have a lot in common and they seem like kindred spirits. Though the story was short, it was a lovely read and I found it sweet and sensual. We have two people that have endured their own kinds of loss. They have a chemistry that heats up the pages and I found the speed in which it happen, very plausible between these two characters.

The question is can they work things out? Read to find out, it's worth it.

Soraya Lane is back with a new story for this holiday season. Saskia and Luke are both home on leave, but a snow storm has stranded them in the airport. Saskia is desperate to get home to her son for Christmas. Navy Seal's Promise is a short novella. That was my only complaint. It was too short! I wanted more of Saskia and Luke together. I felt like I had a good sense of their back story, but I wanted to see more of what happened after their deployments and reunion. Right from the start, the attraction is strong. I loved how Luke did everything in his power to get Saskia home to her son. Talk about a great guy! If you are looking for a steamy, yet sweet read filled with the promise of a HEA, pick this one up!

Disclaimer: Its a really short read!

So two weeks ago, I missed work a little being sick and therefore refused to spend any extra money on my Amazon/Kindle account until I got a better paycheck. Call it being responsible.

In doing so, I got this little freebie, and it was actually pretty good. I mean I'd call it a 3.5 star read, and while I dont really like romances that have the characters "in love" in seconds... okay, days, of meeting, it was a good story.

It must be pretty decent to others too, because its at like $2.99 now.

Army Corporal Saskia Cullen is on her way home for 48 hours to spend time with her young son for Christmas. She meets Navy SEAL Luke Gray when she wakes up on his shoulder on the plane. Due to blizzard conditions the airport shuts down and she's unable to catch her last flight to make it home in time. But after calling in a favor, Luke finds a way to get her there. And along the way they discover an attraction that could lead to something more.

This was a really cute story that takes place at Christmas. I only wish it had been longer.

Got this from Amazon Prime's lending library. It is a fairly cute, sweet and in one part steamy romance. Sure it came together in a questionably realistic HEA but that is why I read this type of thing- so I know everything will end super happy regardless of the likelihood (hey- it could happen- don't judge me!). Don't think to much on the details on this one and just enjoy the story for what it is.

This was a short, sweet, endearing story. Two military people meet on a flight. Connecting flight gets canceled due to weather. Woman needs to get home to see her son on her 2 days leave. Man promises to get her there. There's some sexy moments, some sweet moments, and ones to make you smile. This is worth taking time to curl up with a blanket on a Sunday afternoon and read. There's nothing overtly deep to it, nothing to make you go, WOW, it's just short and simple.

I got this for free on amazon. I havent read anything by this author before and it was a nice surprise . I enjoyed the story, a mom trying to get home to her son and a navy seal helps her get there, a snow storm and some chemistry between them and you have a nice quick read. It was worth the time to read.

When I cracked open this book last night at 9 I didn't anticipate finishing it by 10:30. It's very short, easy to read and has a happy ending. Not much else to say. I did like that the military was portrayed in a positive light and to have 2 branches get together was unique. If you're looking for a really quick read, borrow it from my library and enjoy.

This book was good, for what it was. Short, sweet and to the point can never be bad, right? My only disappointment was the "sizzle". They kept talking about their attraction, but when it came time, there wasn't any real spark. The stuff with her son was touching, it even had me choked up! A good, quick read!

"The Navy Seal's Promise" is a sweet story of finding love in the most unexpected circumstances. Saskia and Luke have many broken pieces from prior relationships and hardships. I enjoyed their story. No kindle gripping moments. No over thinking. Just an easy light story that was perfect heading into the holidays.

Short and utterly romantic. Luke was yummy, the characters were very natural and straightforward, they both had a past. I got all emotional with some bits, especially the ones related to her son....being a mom myself makes me weep when I read about sad little boys.
