The sequel to Mace of the Apocalypse…The world has been decimated by a powerful toxin that kills and then reanimates the dead. A small pocket of survivors struggle to create a safe zone in Kansas, knowing that time is running out. Sarah Thompson, one of their members, is having visions. What she sees terrifies her. Something is coming. Something very, very, bad…

Meanwhile, three months after the final battle with a teenage gang, Mace Marconi has recovered enough to lead his group towards Overland Park, KS. A promise was made by his fiancé, Jade, to deliver an antidote and she is determined to have her baby away from the horrors of San Francisco. The road is filled with danger, however, and the odds are not in their favor. Zombies rule the landscape and are everywhere.

What none of them know is that the infection has mutated and it’s now much, much, worse…

Oh no so it isn't so!! I read the first book of this series " Mace of the apocalypse", and was thrilled to know I finished just as this one was being released. The journey with Mace & Jade, along with the others I have come to know, and to laugh with, gasped out loud with, cried with, and even a few I think I would use for bait, has been a exciting one, one that now I have to wait till the next installment next year some time. *sigh*! Like I said in my first review for the first book, a zombie style lover I really have never been, apocalyptic yes, is right down my isle. But this series has brought my thoughts of zombie stories out from the darkness, to we're I can really sink my teeth into it! Only disappointment is I have to wait for the next one! But keep them coming!

This is, without a doubt, my favorite book this year. I laughed, I cried, I was totally freaked out, I was amazed and then sad it was over. I still feel attached to the characters and really am hoping for a continuation. The way that Mr. Williams built this whole new world, the details and trials and tribulations were fascinating. The details in the how the monsters evolve, magic. There were many times throughout this book I was shocked at what I was reading, it sucked me in and did not let me go. It played like a movie in my head it was written so well! If you are into the Horror genre like I am, you can not pass up this book.

mace and his band of survivors head to Kansas where they hope to find safety. in Kansas, Sarah and Bo fortify their encampment to keep out the zombies. what nobody knows is that the infected are mutating into something even more deadly. p.s I would have given this book a higher rating if it weren't for the author's increasing reliance on giving the characters 'aid from beyond' in the form of guidance from their dead friends.

I liked this more than the 1st novel. Lots of action. Looking forward to third book because of the twist on the Zombies and their metamorphosis into "mutant zombies" with new "abilities".

A quick read but it's an important "chapter" in the series. I'm loving it...

Daniel J. Williams has recreated the zombie apocalypse with his new series, Mace of the Apocalypse. In book two of this series, "Value of Jade" a few months have passed since terrorists had unleashed a deadly toxin into the air that has now spread throughout the world, creating zombies that feed off the flesh of those dubiously lucky enough to have survived. Jade is now pregnant, Mace has recovered from his injuries, and a small band of survivors are now undertaking the perilous journey from San Francisco to Overland Park, Kansas to join up with another group of survivors-all based on the hope that there WILL be survivors in Kansas. Jade is determined that they go based on her brief internet communication with Sarah Thompson, a woman she has never met. Sarah has had visions, and she sees a connection between Jade and humanity's survival.

Jade and her group must face the dangers of the unknown, crazed humans, and zombies that seem to be evolving into more sentient beings on their journey. The faces of their group will change. The threat to their survival grows with every passing mile, and they do not even know what they will find in Kansas. Who will survive? What will they find? What does Sarah's vision mean for Jade?

The imagery Daniel Williams creates is amazing! From the conditions of the landscape across the country to the mental stress and breakdown of survivors, I felt like I was riding along with Jade and her group. I can't wait until book three!

Having read the first book in this series, I was extremely eager to read this one. I was not disappointed. This book was as enjoyable a read as its prequel! Be warned though that it's also just as descriptive as its prequel, so those with weak stomaches may want to avoid this book - especially while eating! If you have the stomach for extremely detailed scenes of zombie attacks though, then this may be the book for you!

this is as fantastic book because you not only have more zombie killing but you also meet new people & loose people as well! I love the way that Jade can still kick your tail while pregnant! I love how they handle meeting unique lil people & how that helps molds the group yet again Great job Dan! you are a genius! You can't put your guard down at even a moment! don't think you can light a smoke w/out consequences happening! you have to read this book!
