Jaxon Malone is a Captain in the Air Force for the Earth World Government. She is sent on an espionage mission to the alien planet of Katiera. She finds herself torn between her loyalties to her home world Earth, and the new feelings she is developing towards the people of Katiera and their Commander. Will she choose to break the ties that bind her to a dying home world? Or - will she embrace her new life, and with it, a love far greater than any she could have imagined?
Prime Commander KydEL must negotiate an alliance between the two alien nations of Kiljor and Katiera. The moment he meets the female warrior from Earth, she turns his world upside down. She causes unexpected mating urges to rise up within him. It is distracting and disruptive. He makes every effort to ignore her and the mating urges. Will he be able to succeed with the negotiations before an all-out war descends? Will he overcome the mating urges or will he finally give in to them? Or … will he wait too long and lose her to a rival?

I love kickass heroines and Jaxon Malone was hilarious yet strong and grounded in the first novel. She didn't come off quite as capable in Prime Commander especially with all the melting and pussy clenching at the sound of Commander KydEL's voice lol.
The first third of the story was a rewrite of the first book Katieran Prime, from the POW of Jaxon. Frustrating if you're reading the stories back to back. Plotwise the rest was fine... except for the hot mess that was the writing. Literary buffs should keep well away as there are huuuuge editorial slip ups throughout the whole story. The third person narration was patchy and alternated in tenses which made reading this really awkward. It was like reading a juvenile fan fiction. Lastly, the description of the Katieran laws and the planet were a cut and paste from the first book! Uninspired and lazy, K.D. Jones.
I finished the story but don't have much of a recollection of it other than how terrible the writing and editing was. Funnily enough despite this, I intend to start Prime Medic tomorrow lol.
Jaxon is a character who has to prove herself over and over and not just because of her gender. Prime Commander is smitten with Jaxon but fights his attraction. Even his brother finds him impossible. Jaxon is not treated as well as she deserves and Kyd is annoying. Still a great read!
Another fine book to read So full of action, heartache, lots of kisses.Everything seems to revolve around the Katierans ,there is a never ending amount of stupidly men in these stories.Start with number one and keep reading.I am rereading all of them over again.
I really love the prime series. I’ve had this one for years (sorry it’s taken this long to review). With new ones coming out, I figured it was time to revisit all of them, and I’m glad I did. Also glad to have a box of tissues nearby for the end.
While I loved the story and characters in this book as much as I did in her first of this series. I was a bit confused through out it with the timing of the story. Her world she created is still a competent well managed planet and Earth is now benefiting from the medical and technological advancements the Katieran's have shared with them. But we now are learning that there are enemies of the Katerian's called the Morin's. The Morin's are the race that created a virus that has caused infertility and in some cases abnormal deformities in the Katieran's. And that some of the Katieran's broke away from the planet and are now called Kiljorn's. But last but not least we find that there is a planet populated with all the people with the mutated virus genes just called the Colony. This is where I started to get confused.
In this book we meet Cassie's best friend from Earth Jaxon. She's a strong able warrior and she's there on a mission...that is until she meets and falls in love with RendEL's brother Prime Commander KydEL He is attracted to Jaxon yet fights it strongly. He think women are to be protected at all costs. But time and time again Jaxon is saving KydEL's ass from near death. It is only a matter of time until KydEL realizes Jaxon is the only one for him. When eminent threats from the Morin's force the Katieran's and Kiljorn's to join together to save the women captured by the Morin's and help to heal the rift between the people. And when the Kiljorn's find out the Katieran's have found woman that are compatible they work together to bring the refugees from Earth to their worlds as a way to save their race.
Once again I loved the story and characters very much. What I did have an issue with is the editing job KD Jones received on her book. As new author she was taken advantage of and given a lazy job by her editor. And as a result the reading is some times rough with the grammatical errors and such. Over all its a stellar book. But the mistakes from editing drags it down. If I am to be honest its has a 4.5 star rating.
This book needs a revision and an editor ASAP. The core of the book - the plot, characters, etc -- I liked, but the writing was bad. The main issue is with tense, it goes from present tense to past tense rather chaotically. I was sort of confused because, while this book also has a bit more telling than showing like the first book, the first didn't have this issue with tense. It was like this book was a first draft?
For example:
The whole book is like this -- a mix and match of present and past tense. Grammar and punctuation mistakes on the other hand weren't as bad as one would expect, given this issue. Which is why I really think with an editor or a rewrite, this book would really benefit! I read the 3rd book of the series and noted in the beginning that it was edited by "Invisible Edits" and there is a MAJOR improvement from this book and the 3rd. No tense issues, less of the other flaws.
This series started out great for me, however having to read the same story over and over is annoying. 20-25% of each story (except the first) explains everything in that happened before, where she tries to be succinct about I found that it took away from the story and found myself skimming. Also the stories have followed to same cookie cutter pattern. (I've read 1-4). I'm gonna skip ahead to the one I actually want to read and get it over with.
Jaxon was definitely a kick ass and very stubborn heroin. And she met her match in Commander Kyd, dominant and just as stubborn and sneaky. The two of them are a delight, very funny, pig headed and both unwilling to acknoledge their attraction. There sure was a lot of sparkles in this book. However, just as I mentionned for the first book, I would have love to see a more description of their worlds, their inhabitabts, culture, animals and plants.
Great story. I love Jaxon. Such a great character. She had such hard upbringing, trying to prove herself to other people. And then she gets a mission that will change her life. Kyd is a Prime Commander on Katiera, who absolutely adores Jaxon but does not want to show his feelings. Until tragedy happens, secrets get revealed and people get hurt. Quite an emotional ending. For me anyway :)
I was very frustrated by this book. Jaxon is supposed to be a strong, sassy female lead but every time Kyd treats her bad she gets over it so quickly. It honestly made it seem like she lacked a backbone. On top of this, the sexist view of the aliens just irritates me. I don't think I can continue reading this series.
Each of the women has a skill set and a purpose. Jaxon is a soldier caught in an impossible position by her government, spy on the Katerians to prove you are worthy. Falling in love means she has to choose and prove to the Katerians that female warriors are a force to be reckoned with anywhere.
Was every disappointed with the editing, it was a little annoying to have to fix the grammar while I read. I did enjoy the story it was worth the read. I really do like this series.
Great story. I love how strong Jaxon is and the fact that she never backs down. Enjoyed the chemistry between her and Kyd. Looking forward to the next book.
Ok. I was hoping this would be good but it was better. I don't understand the hot and cold of these men. Every other man on the planet wants a mate but Kyd fights it. Confusing Jaxon and everyone around them. He is lucky she took him back time after time. Jaxon is tough and loyal and sweet. I liked Silas
