Billionaire Shane Trant is used to getting what he wants. What he can't buy, he takes. When he sees Bristol Deatrich for the first time in over ten years, he knows he wants her. But there's a problem. Only complete possession of her mind and body will satisfy him. He's not sure the sweet little Bristol is ready for his brand of extreme carnal play.

But that's not going to stop him from trying. After all, he learned a long time ago, nobody wins if they don't take risks. If this risk pays off, they'll both win.

Nothing exciting happens in Tawny Taylor's life, unless you count giving the cat a flea dip--a cat can make some fascinating sounds when immersed chin-deep in insecticide--or chasing after a houseful of upchucking kids during flu season. She doesn't travel the world or employ a staff of personal servants. She's not even built like a runway model. She's just your run-of-the-mill, pleasantly plump Detroit suburban mom and wife.

Story: FAIRLY GOOD
Intimacy Level: VERY SPICY
Enjoyment: FAIRLY GOOD
Length: 1077 kindle / 42 pg

THOUGHTS

I actually read What He Demands (Domination Erotic Romance: Submitting to the Billionaire 2) first, then What He Wants second. I really enjoyed book 2, however, although I found What He Wants to be sexy, I thought it was just ok. I thought Shane and Bristol's story of coming together was simple and didn't really stand out to me.

To be honest, if I had read this book first, I don't think I would have wanted to read book 2. But I'm glad I read them in the order that I did. Shane has known Bristol since she was twelve years old, as he was a close friend to her mother. Now that Bristol's mother has passed on, their paths has cross again, that of Dom and sub. I think their chemistry was more intense in book 2 for me and more to my liking.

I thought the Dom and Sub aspect was a little weak in this story but still spicy enough to entertain. I also found the uncle Shane, thing weird and creepy, even though it wasn't her real uncle. Although Shane is older, the author doesn't discloses his age, only Bristol's age. I think that was better for me because knowing there is a huge cap would be a turn off also.

Sometimes when I look through my Kindle, I am actually ashamed at how many "Billionaire" books are in my erotic/romance section! I just love them so much that I can't stop! While this is a short read, I really enjoyed it a lot. It was well written, had awesome characters, and really heated up a boring afternoon. My favorite line is "What he can't buy, he takes." I highly recommend this story! If you are looking for another good read in the same genre, check out Sensation and Magic - A woman's erotic journey through Submission and Mastery.

I have read a few of Ms. Taylor's books and for the most part I enjoy them. This one left a lot to be desired. I was expecting a little more intense scenes between Shane and Bristol but they were lukewarm at best. I personally am not fond of the whole "Uncle" Shane part, even if there is no real relation. The scene in the parking lot was the most exciting part of the book and even that was a little vanilla in the realm of BDSM. Fingers crossed that the next one is more exciting.

This was a hard story for me to rate. It wasn't my favorite.

Bristol and Shane have a history - he was friends with her mother. But this relationship is never really explained, which I think had me confused from the start. It may not have been relevant, and in a short erotic story like this, I don't think it was. But as this is the first in the series, it may be important later on. Or it may be explained later on. So I'm trying not to sound like I'm stuck on this little issue - but I am.

I think all the time spent explaining the house, the decor, the mortgage situation, could all have been spent exploring the characters. We really don't get to know Bristol and Shane, and that make it hard to relate. At least the reader can gather that Shane is a dominant male. Bristol, however, is a confusing character. Maybe because she was confused. But just because she was confused doesn't mean her character should be confusing.

The one thing I really did like about this story though, and which I believe is the most important element of the book is the writing. The writing was done so well. It really caught my attention just prior to the sex scene. The sentence structure so beautifully mimics Bristol's actions. The short, clipped sentences almost give the reader a feeling of Bristol's hyperventilating. I'm not sure this was intentional, but it happened multiple times in the story where the writing would flow or become more staccato based on the current occurrences in the plot.

So while this wasn't my favorite story ever, I think I will likely read Tawny's work more in the future just to experience more of her writing style.

Bristol Deatrich is trying to make ends meet which means selling her mom's house because she can't do two mortages and still live. She keeps hoping that someone will see the potential in the house and take a chance on it yet she's still waiting for that to happen. Devilishly handsome man appears as she's leaving the house to go meet a friend for lunch. She can't seem to take her eyes off of him only to realize that something is very familiar about him. Shane Trant is looking for a property to invest in and thinks he may have found just the place. He's intrigued by the woman selling the house only to find out that she's an old family friend. Shane knew Bristol's mother very well and respected Bristol as well. Shane sees Bristol as a temptation that he's not sure he can resist yet doesn't really want to either. From Shane's first searing kiss to the last Bristol is hooked and aroused as well. Shane is an unusual man with very demanding tastes and afraid to scary Bristol off with his intensity of his desire for her. Will Bristol take a risk? Will Shane allow Bristol to get away? Will Shane's demands scare Bristol? Your answers await you in What He Wants.

"What He Wants" by Tawny Taylor is the first book in the "My Alpha Billionaire" Series. It's a erotic, funny and sweet read. I really enjoyed reading it.
We're introduced to the characters Bristol Deatrich and the billionaire Shane Trant. They see each other for the first time in over ten years. Shane, who was Bristol's mom old friend, decides to buy the family house. Bristol is relieved about it and she agrees with her friend Jill to celebrate the occasion, but Shane shows up and instead of having a great time with her friend, Bristol decides to have dinner with the billionaire. Shane shows Bristol his world and the reason why he's not the right man for her. Despite Bristol is confused and in complete shock about the new revelation, she is still drawn to him.
After the "kinky" night at Shane's house, Bristol avoids him until he confronts her and...

...if you want to know more about it then go pick it up.

What He Wants (My Alpha Billionaire #1)

UBER HOT, BUT UBER SHORT

Well, it’s only 46 pages Kindle version, give or take a few… and I really liked what I read. But I just felt that it could have been longer… it was like reading a chapter, not a book… but oh well… I guess if you want more… you’ll need to buy the next installments…

No doubt in my mind that Shane was and is an uber alpha male… reading this short story really turned me on… so much so that I had to put it down and go find my husband for a little while!!! <>

All is all, it was a good start to a great story… just wasn’t enough for me… not sure if I’ll purchase the next ones as I have about 200 free books on my TBR list at the moment!! If anyone does continue this series… drop me a line and let me know what you think… should I continue or stop!!!!

I really didn't like this book. I wanted to read something outside my comfort zone and since this was short (46 pages) and free, I decided to give it a shot. There was no virtually no character development; unless you call a 21 year old (Bristol) seeing an older guy who she called 'Uncle Shane' for 10 years and screwing him twice, character development. Shane was a friend of her mother's and Bristol sees him again when he comes to see her house that she is selling. I don't consider myself a prude, but Bristol referring to Shane as uncle Shane was just creepy and not what I'm into. Also what I don't like is how she kept thinking to herself that she needed to leave and she didn't just showed how weak of a woman she was. Just my opinion.

What He Wants is about a young woman, Bristol, who is trying to sell her dead mothers house. One night a man (Shane) comes up late to look at the house and something seems familiar about him then she realizes it is her moms friend Shane who she refers to call "Uncle Shane". She has not seen him in over 10 years. They briefly catch up with each other and discover they both have a strong attraction they need to explore.

I found this book a little on the vanilla side of the BDSM world. Shane seemed to be a sweet dom. The best part of the book to me was the sex in the parking lot... and the worse part was she referred to him as her uncle even though they are not. That was just a tad bit creepy for me..

Wow, this was a hot book. It was very short, only about 45 pages long but well worth the read. Bristol happens upon uncle Shane (not really related) after 10 years. Bristol is all grown up now and Shane can't help but notice. While there is definitely chemistry, Shane likes his lovin rough and Bristol can't commit to that kind of relationship. Shane has to allow time and the right kind of pressure to make Bristol his.

This really was a hot book and in a way very romantic. Shane had moves that can make a girl swoom!

I'm giving this short short novella 1.5 stars

Why not more? No I didn't hate it. Yes it was free...

Two reasons. I strongly disliked the creepy Uncle reference. Not necessary and left a bad taste in my mouth.

I also didn't think the story was hot and, honestly, that is what this story is supposed to be! It is supposed to be a kinky story and it was totally vanilla. TOTALLY. In a so-called kinky book they think outdoor sex is a daring act. I've read YA books where they do that!

I just wasn't into it. Personal preference.

Bristol Deatrick is selling her mother's house when and man show's up to buy it and she realizes that she knows him. Shane Trant knew Bristol's mother now he plans to buy the house. He is impressed by how Bristol has turned out. She has grown up into quite a young lady. She is turned on by him and when she tells him. He lets her know that she may not be ready for him. When he takes her home with him and shows her his dungeon yes a dungeon. She freaks.... Mr. Shane is into alot of Dominance is Ms Bristol ready to hand over the reigns.

Short read only three chapters but good. Bristol is trying to sell her mothers house and "Uncle" Shane buys it. Kind of weird to think of her mother getting down with him and then years later she's doing the same thing. Coming to her senses she keeps away from him but Shane's not having it he finds her. Enough to get you to read more to see where it's going and want to find out what's really up with the mysterious Shane.

This was a super quick read (took about 30-40 mins to read the story). Felt that the author just rushed through the story and didn't really develop the characters. Based on other reviews it appears book 2 might be better.... I'll just read book two and well if it's not that great... probably will only lose another 30-40 mins of my life.

ummm... wtf? this is so short... not even a novella.... more like a chapter. im really glad that i bought it for 99 cents as part of a set.... or else i would be very unhappy right now. length of it aside, i did not like the story. it was very "wham bam thank you ma'am". ugh. i am gonna force myself to read the other books in this set, because as i said, i already purchased the set.

"What He Wants" was a very quick and super steamy read. I wish it was a little longer or a full length novel. Just as the story was starting to get good and the characters and plot were starting to develop ... it's over. A little too much like 50 Shades, but definitely a good "filler" read.

This book was very short and rushed. I read it during half time of the BCS championship game that is how shirt it really is. Not bad for free but really there was no development and calling it a novella is a stretch.

What He Wants- Tawny Taylor
This is a nice example of what I call a "Wham! Bam! Thank you, Ma'am." erotica. It was short, hot, sexy and I'd like to see what happens next in the series. This was a nice sexy read without too much drama or just too much sex.

Her inner walls clenched...I almost went back to count how many times I read that phrase but decided i had better things to do with my time.

This book had a few moments of hawt but Bristol's inner monologue got kind of old. And where was the kink in this kinky book?

Sigh. 2.5

I really, really enjoyed this story. The steamy scenes were well-written, and the dialogue flowed nicely. I zipped through in in about half an hour, and I REALLY want more! I'm off to add more of Tawny Taylor's books to my wishlist now!

when she called him uncle Shane I was thinking a heated up taboo story. but when u think about it he's just a perv. her mother's closest friend when she was just 13. ...nooo ehh. and using words like torture room . full sized cages this is a little not on the sexy radar of bdsm... not for me

This book was okay. Nothing really fantastic about it. It was really to short for much of anything. I'm going to read book 2 and see if it gets better. In book 1 they have potential but it was nothing special.

I thought it was well written but way to short. At the ending I was like WTH? If she was going to make the book that short should at least have had a part two. Overall it was good.
