The author sure knows how to write. I'll give them that. And I was rather intrigued by the main character. So, why three stars instead of anything higher? Well . . . it was really short, and, quite frankly, the sex - and yes this is 99.9% erotica (that extra .1% went into characterization of the main character) - was kind of bland and boring. To me. Admittedly people shouldn't really go by what I think about descriptions of sex acts, since I have a tendency to skim or skip them (unless I don't, and read it, and/or go into a book expecting and wanting erotica - like here).
I think this is only my second story I've read by Bliss. I picked up a metric ton of her free stories longish ago, and I've been very slow in actually reading them. Eventually I'll read everything I have. I assume.

Since practically all I read is M/M right now, and I'm bi, I thought I should branch out a bit and try lesbian fiction again as I used to read f/f erotica a lot. So far I've got 0 for 2. I was in a 6 year relationship with a woman, why is this stuff so not turning me on? I think it's just bad, bad, bad. And I think part of it is that it's written too masculine. Just like M/M can be written too femmy, this story felt like it was a woman lusting after a man, or even a man lusting after a man. At one point, one woman tells the other to "fuck me." We never used that expression because it seems so het/male focused. "Do me" is what the women I've been with said.
The sex, well the whole thing, was boring, not hot at all. There was only lust here, no emotional intimacy. Only one of the two gets off and then the other says, "I owe you one." No suggestion of doing the other woman at all. But then, I didn't like the love interest, the one who didn't need to come. I found that really controlling, like she didn't need anything from this woman she just "fucked."
Thank my lucky stars I didn't pay for this thing.

Unfortunately I was quite disappointed with this one as it could have been so much better. I knew it was going to be a short read but definitely not as short as that! Most of the pages weren't anything to do with the main 'story'.
This was just one scene (yummy but not very exciting) which left a lot to be desired. There wasn't much of a story, little to no depth to the characters and ultimately a poor climax.
This would have great potential as a full length novel though.

A hot & more than steamy short story……..too short. It would have been great to see where the “shower” interlude would go next.
I am really keen to read a full novel by this author. She has such a fabulous writing style…..the story just flows so nicely.

Short but oh so sweet! Really enjoyed the spin class setting (only male instructors whenever I have inflicted this on my unwilling and weak body). Left wanting desperately want to know what happened the following week. Feel forced to go out and buy more of her work.

Wetter by Harper Bliss: If you are looking for steam Wetter is a good one. This 16-page quick read was a fun reading lying in bed alone on a steamy night. Yum fun 4 stars.

Blue clitting? Is that the word? Because that's how I feel right now. Upon further research, the word I'm looking for seems to be “blue beaning”, which is weirder than my female variant of blue balling.

The ebook on my format has 24 pages and only 8 pages of it was the actual thing. The sex was 3½ pages and look, I knew this was going to be a shortie but the whole sex scene felt meh to me. C’mon Bliss! We know you do better. Plus, with the woman on the cover, this one had the potential to be so hot, but the only scene where I was truly feeling it was the trepidation of them being walked in on.

I really liked this authors character, Rachel. She's strong, sexy and shifts to commanding later in the story. I found myself stopping and coming back later because it didn't capture me at first. The author missed the orgasm scene completely. I had to read back to make sure the character actually orgasmed. And I thought that was supposed to be the high note of the story. I liked the book but found it a bit flat, not raising my adrenaline as some other books have in this genre.

Right this is a little short story and I mean short!!!

Good story but I wished it was longer because there could of been something there.

This is a 5 page story (all the rest is just title, about author, other books,etc. Rachel goes to a gym and takes a regular spin class with Toni the instructor and one night after practice they seem to be the only two naked in a sauna then they are fingering in the shower. It was almost a one star for me except I actually like the character development you see in Rachel for how short of a book it is. I think the book honestly would be better sans sex. The entire scene is unrealistic, and not very "turn you on" style.

Rachel has the hots for the fitness instructor. She's been oogling her for a while, one night after class she has her chance to act on her infatuation. (I should say this is a short story.) I kind of find the whole situation unbelievable. It wasn't really a hot scene, and it was kind of a cliff hanger.

This short story by Harper Bliss was not as good as ‘New girl’. I liked it, don’t get me wrong, but there was something missing. Maybe a connection? I don’t know.

Rachel has been going to the gym for one reason. That's to see Toni, the instructor, who she's had a crush since she started to the gm. One night after class one of her fantasies turn into a reality when gets to see Toni naked in the steam room and then later in the shower where they create their steam.
This was a very short read. The sex scene was steamy. I recommend this book to others.

Mmmm. I enjoyed this. The writing is crisp and accurate. Every sentence carries the plot forward or adds to the atmosphere. The characters are sketched in, but their actions rather than the words of the author fill in the details.
Body descriptions are pretty tame, and it's the feelings and sensations that bring the heat. Just the way I like it. Harper is playing on the strings of the reader, guiding her through, teasing and titillating rather than spelling out every detail in clinical style.
And the romantic in me rejoices at the ending. There's room for more.

This is the first book from this author I've ever read. I've been meaning to read their work for some time now, I'm always seeing their name. I finally got around to it and I must say I really do enjoy the writing style.
I hope there is a part two or series of this story floating around somewhere! I am eager to find out what happens next!

I did enjoy this short story of Rachel and her sexy gym instructor. I felt Rachel was personable and likeable, for the brief time I knew her, and Toni was very enigmatic and intriguing, however, this story is very short - hence the low rating. I would have liked to see this expanded to novella length.

Couldn't Connect
I love Harper Bliss books, but this one I couldn't connect to either character. The shower scene I wanted more to it. Wanted more to all of this. It's not bad book in general it just was lacking for me. I thought I had read before since owned for years but hadn't. This won't put me off to her I future but I won't re-read this one.
