I approached Gary Numan's Praying to the Aliens with some trepidation. Generally, I do not pay any more attention to celebrities than I would to any random human I might pass on the street on any given day. An interesting read, although the book and it's subject are unintentionally hilarious at times. Numan is a bizarre character, seemingly unhappy with his fame & success, a socially inept creature who truly doesn't fit in to the world around him. He's a little too honest for his own good at times, and his decleration that he finds the fantasy world of Tolkien a more believable true history of the earth than the old testament is just one of a myriad of embarrassing quips he throws out to a bemused ...more

A stunningly good reas. This is the most in-depth and real autobiography of a musician that I have ever had the good fortune to read.

GREAT book! Could've done without the chapter describing in great detail his hair transplant surgery, but other than that a fascinating read.

The english musician. was most known threw the 70's but is still making new albums and touring to this day. His first chart topping hit was cars.

He got his start in music when he sang and composed for the band Tubeway Army.
