In 1790, when Davy was four years old, he lived in the Tennessee territory. He had three older brothers and some younger siblings. It seemed like forever before he was six, and his uncle, Joseph Hawkins, gave him hunting lessons. Later, the family moved to Cove Creek, Tennessee, where they built a mill. Davy was able to become a good hunter at that time. The mill failed, and the family had to move again, but Davy continued to develop his skills and in his lifetime was a great pioneer and countryman.

These mini Biographies for Young Readers from Troll Associates would be a great addition to any School Library. They are well told and interesting and inspiring for both young and old readers. This is a Good Read.
