Gladio, Nato's Dagger at the Heart of Europe: The Pentagon-Nazi-Mafia Terror Axis

Rate this book
Masquerading as a rear guard against a possible Communist takeover, NATO's covert special forces are in reality a hideous cancer poisoning European democracy. The dirty war projects have included the Italian Strategy of Tension, the Red Brigades and Baader Meinhof/Red Army Faction, the Banco Ambrosiano scandal, the deaths of Italian ex-PM Aldo Moro, banker Roberto Calvi, media magnate Robert Maxwell, Swedish PM Olaf Palme, and "The Umbrella Murder," as well as the attempt on Pope John Paul II's life; the sex snare set for British PM Harold Wilson, and the Cyprus genocide. Gladio architect Lyman Lemnitzer is implicated in the 1944 reintroduction of the Mafia into Sicily and the murder of the Kennedy brothers. Covert NATO operations were behind Solidarnosc, the fall of the Soviet Union, the color revolutions of Eastern Europe and North Africa, and the massacres of August 2011 in Norway and Libya; the infiltration of Occupy Wall Street by violent provocateurs is on the same pattern.

Cottrell documents a seemingly massive infrastructure of a Post-WWII underground army in Western Europe that was originally designed to act as a stay-behind army in case of a Soviet occupation but which, over time, transformed into a right-wing false-front terror organization to scare voters from electing center-left candidates. Particularly distressing is the probable murder of a young British MI-6 agent in Greece as the result of an internal struggle between London and Washington over whether to support a royalist government (London) or a military dictatorship (Washington) in Greece. I found Gladio to be a well-researched and easy-to-read story of the power that can corrupt when apparatuses expand without checks and balances.

A great book that illustrates historical government false flag operations to achieve their desired political ends. The book goes into detail of the London bombings, Madrid bombing the Oslo bombing/mass shooting incident and completely deconstructs and points out evidence that we are being manipulated and lied to by the mainstream media for the state's political gain. Another chapter could be added that would include the Aurora and Sandy Hook staged events as well used to demonize and confiscate fire arms and get rid of the 2nd amendment.

Besides Sibel Edmonds work on this subject and the fact Turkey is not more prominently covered, it would be difficult to find a better book on the subject. Gladio is not over, it is just a foundation for what is going on now in Europe and all over the world.

Weaves an interesting narrative but let down by poor references. With material this controversial it's important to separate fact from speculation, I suspect it contains a lot of the latter.

Some factual errors in section on Italy. Short on proof and long on speculation, nevertheless covers a lot of interesting ground.

A very, very good read. It helps if you are willing to accept that organisations such as NATO and many of the west’s senior politicians are not as wonderful, impressive and as truthful or honest as they seem to think we should believe.
Many fascinating areas are covered with lots of details and eye opening facts. These will make any committed reader want to follow further leads provided by the author.
An excellent read. Thoroughly recommended.

Have you ever wondered why so many people hate the USA? Read this book and you may gain some insight. I came away amazed at the evil intent of those in the shadow government of both the USA and the UK.

At times the book was a little hard to track with - some chapters had me scratching my head and turning back to previous pages to see who did what to whom, but it was a real eye opener. I wish every US citizen would read it.

An indispensable book that documents the nefarious connection of NATO's stay behind armies, intelligence agenicies, Nazis, fascists, the drug trade and the mafia at the center of perceived tension across Europe. Cottrell paints a vivid picture of all the duplicity, its players. its patsies and all of its false flag operations designed to steer Europe into a proto- fascist state.
