Operations and Supply Chain Management
Operations and Supply Chain Management , 17e covers the latest and most important issues facing operations and supply chain management (OSCM) managers while providing basic tools and techniques to promote a competitive advantage and career-readiness. It covers relevant, current OSCM issues with a focus on the global economy, analytic content that ties decisions to relevant data, and solutions to operations and supply chain-related problems. Hot topics in business today that relate to OSCM are mitigating the risk of disruptions while reducing the cost of supply chain processes, integration and collaboration with customers and suppliers, sustainability and minimizing the long-term cost of products and processes. These topics are studied in the book to clarify the "big picture" of what these topics are and why they are important to business today. The seventeenth edition supplies many examples of leading-edge companies and practices to make the book an interesting and relevant read.

This book (for a graduate class) confirmed my interest in operations management. I wouldn't have read it for fun, but I will definitely be able to apply what I learned in my career.

A legit textbook in OSCM. It's somehow helpful for my consulting interview prep, since it shows different ways to break down certain problems into parts. But the real-world case studies (not the quantitative examples to illustrate models) are way too dull.

To the people who gave this book two-star reviews: what were you expecting, Pride & Prejudice? It's a textbook designed to introduce business students to the principles and applications of OSCM concepts, and inasmuch as that's the objective of the book, it succeeds at what it's meant to do.
Particularly helpful are the e-book's example spreadsheets. Many of the cases are closely derived (if not taken directly from) real-world situations, so you'll be practicing actual OSCM disciplines.
Chances are, if you're reading this, it's partly because you have to read it. Rate it as such. It's not meant to be Dune.
