Cynthia Woolf is the USA Today Bestselling and award-winning author of eighty-five works of romance fiction. Comprising sixty-six historical western romances, ten contemporary romance novels, two contemporary romance novellas, one historical western romance novella, and six sci-fi space opera romances, which she calls westerns in space. Along with these books, she has also published twelve boxed sets of her books and two short stories.

Cynthia loves writing and reading romance. Her first western romance, Tame A Wild Heart, was inspired by the story her mother told her of meeting Cynthia's father on a ranch in Creede, Colorado. Although Tame A Wild Heart takes place in Creede, that is the only similarity between the stories. Her father was a cowboy, not a bounty hunter, and her mother was a nursemaid (called a nanny now), not the ranch owner.

Cynthia credits her wonderfully supportive husband, Jim, and her great critique partners for saving her sanity and allowing her to explore her creativity.

Another fun book in Cynthia's Wild West Historicals! Sam and Cassie are loveable, with a fiery romance to boot! Sam is yet another hero that I wouldn't mind knocking boots with (if I wasn't already married!)

Put this on your TBR shelf and then take it off and read it. I promise, it'll be worth it.

If you enjoy a western this is an author that I would recommend. This is book 2 in the series but it can be read as a stand alone and not feel like you are only getting half the story, it is a quick fun read. About Sam & Cassie he is a ex Texas ranger and she is widowed. He has someone from his past following him.

I read the first book and was not really impressed. I thought perhaps I was being too judgmental and should give the author a chance to redeem herself, I thought maybe the first book was just a one time miss and this book would make me see that this author was really as good as all the 4 & 5 star reviews claimed.

I don't know what to say - If anything, there were more typos in this book than in the last one! Also this story was filled with just as many errors/inconsistencies as the first book.

First and foremost - the author marries Cassie off to Rafe (Duncan & Catherine's foreman in the book Tame a Wild Heart) in the first book - it was right there in the epilogue - and I quote :

"I was over at Rafe and Cassie’s today. He told me they’re expecting,” said Duncan.

Woolf, Cynthia (2014-01-07). Tame A Wild Heart, a western romance (Tame Series) (Kindle Locations 3410-3411). . Kindle Edition. "

Well, in this book there is no mention of Rafe and Cassie was widowed - having been married to a man named Michael O'Malley. HOW CAN AN AUTHOR FORGET WHO SHE MARRIED HER HEROINE OFF TO IN THE PREVIOUS BOOK??? Unforgivable - that is not the only mistake - it is just the most glaring.

I will not even bother with the next book - I tried and even gave this author a second chance - apparently many people enjoyed this book, I just wasn't one of them. I said it about the last book and I will repeat it in this review - this author needs a better editor and at the very least a proofreader. I couldn't write a book, so I give her credit for that, but if you are going to expect people to give you their hard earned money in exchange for your work - make sure your work has been checked and double checked before you put it out there.

I listened to this book on audio. The reader of this book, Lia Frederick, is great! She read the first book in this series as well.

Although this is the 2nd book in this series, you can actually read it as a stand alone. There are a few references to the 1st book, but you are never confused. The characters are well developed and the story flowed nicely. It was nice to see the character from the first book get her own story. I like how the protagonist had realistic feelings and emotions and struggled with them. I look forward to the next in this series.

This is a great read, can be a little spicy, all in all a wonderful read that you will love.

I was disappointed by the ending. It was poorly thought out. I also couldn’t figure how why Cassie didn’t think she would get pregnant when she started having sex with Sam. The book was okay until the unbelievable ending. After trailing Sam for several years and knowing he would be hanged for the prior murder, why would Harry Bourden just drop his gun and give up. He had nothing to lose by completing his vendetta and killing Sam. I guess I would rather get shot than go to jail until they could hang me.

A lonely woman.

Cassie is is need of a foreman but she wasn’t expecting him to be so handsome that she would fall in love with him when she met him. Her 2 year old daughter feel in love with Sam and twisted him around her little finger. But Sam was not going to fall in love again after losing his wife and kids. Will they be able to get past their past? Makes for a another good read.Jo

Cassie Finds Real Love

Cassie thought her horse ranch and her children were her life. She was a true friend to her neighbor and she loved the horses and thought her life was complete until she met Sam.......

Another great read

Sam and Cassie's story was another great read. At first I was sad that Cassie had been made a widow after everything she'd endured in the first book. So happy she found love second time around.

Storyline is fine but...

This is a quick read and I liked the story, but it is marred by misspellings and punctuation errors. Needs editing for those reasons.

I loved this powerful funny romance. The author brings you a story of pain and losing the one you love along with sorrow of starting over. She gives you a look at the past and the hard life of living in the west along with some funny good times. I just loved Cassie daughter she keeps you laughing out loud at her innocent comments which are priceless. Two people who are attacked to each other one willing to give love another try the other to afraid of losing someone the love.

Cassie is a sweetheart just trying to make a living after her husband died it has been hard to carry on. She has kept the ranch running by selling horses to the army and doing what she loves with is raising and training race horses. She needs a new foreman and Sam is just the ticket that is until sparks start flying and they can’t keep their hands off each other.

Sam has not had an easy life he was a Texas Ranger until that life took the life of his family. He hunted the man down who killed his family in cold blood and watched him hang. There isn’t a day that goes by he doesn’t think about his time with the rangers and all he lost. He is a trouble soul just taking life one day at a time. That is until Cassie and her family came into his life. He now has a reason to carry on and a woman to court only she isn’t letting him but that isn’t stopping the cowboy.

Lia Frederick as the narrator did a wonderful job I love her many voices. The male ones were just as great as her female ones. The one I loved the most of Sarah Cassie’s daughter she truly out did herself there. There are not background noises or break in the audio just a wonderful clean and clear audio which you will enjoy from start to finish. She puts feeling and emotion in her audios never leaving you guessing how each character feels. You can hear the pain, sorrow, passion in her voice she has a very calm smooth voice which is easy to listen to. She truly made this an audio to enjoy.

The author brings you a painful story which will touch your heart. Characters you can relate to as well as ones you will fall in love with. There was only one part that I was really unsure with the time in history the author wrote about. It did make it an interesting read that I really enjoyed. I loved the humor the author bought to the story along with suspense. She gives you a book you do not want to put down. This is a book full of passion with some twist and turns at the finest. I always look forward to reading Ms. Woolf’s book I know there will a story full of surprises and passion. This is the second book in this series it is hard to pick which one I liked the best each have wonderful plots. I can’t wait for the next one in the series. If you are looking for a book that is entertaining full of surprises and passion set in the west of years long ago with wonderful characters you can relate to you have found the author to give you this.

I received the Tamed series boxed set from the author in exchange for an honest review. This book is the second title of that series, but can be read as a stand alone without any cliffhangers. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every title of this series and heartily recommend them all to any reader who is a fan of great storytelling, especially in historical western romance. Now,if for some reason, I was forced to name a favorite title in this series, Tame a Wild Wind, would be it. I love action packed, suspenseful, historical western romances that also have memorable children characters, and this one comes with two. The heroine, Cassie O'Malley, is a widow with a two year old daughter Sarah and a nine year old son R. J.. The relationship that develops between the hero Sam and Cassie's children is both humorous and heartwarming. These are 9yr old R.J.'s comments after being thanked by Sam for sharing his concerns about Sam's intentions and feelings toward his mama, Cassie. "I gotta watch out for my women folk, 'cause until ya marry Mama, I'm the man of the family, and I gotta tell ya, I won't mind going back to just bein' a kid." The entire series features memorable characters and great stories that you'll want to read again and again.

A lovely read....I always love a story of a strong independent woman (Cassie) whose life is full with her ranch and raising her son as a widowed mother. In walks the handsome Sam Colter, whose own life as a former Texas Ranger, is no less complicated, and their meeting is on the premice of employer/employee.....Cassie/Sam respectively. The story is written well, with romance, suspense, hardships, and characters you will fall in love with.
Simply put "A good read" and will not disappoint. Thank you Cynthia Woolf!!! I won this book on a Goodreads giveaway.

I've read others in this series and I liked this story. Cassie O'Malley needs to hire a man to oversee her horse ranch operation. The man she finds is former Texas Ranger, Sam Colter. Hiring Sam frees Cassie to pursue her first love, training racehorses. Mother to two young children, Cassie is spread pretty thin. Does she have room in her life to add a man? As Sam increasingly becomes a part of the family, will their passion cloud their visions of their future? When Sam's past threatens their future, will Cassie let go of her own past to trust Sam with her heart?

A good Western romance with all the key ingredients: a beautiful widow in need of a ranch foreman, an ex-Texas Ranger with a painful past and a bad-guy out for revenge stalking him. This was a quick easy read and I finished it in one sitting.
This is #2 in the series but it is totally standalone.
I won this book in a Goodreads First Reads giveaway.

A woman's reputation is the most important thing so I do not understand how either Sam and Cassie didn't handle things better. If not for Cassie's sake, then they both should have had more consideration for the children's. Cassie still not being willing to marry immediately after finding out she was pregnant was shocking because illegitimate children are treated horribly.

I received this book from the goodreads first reads program.
Aside from the typos and the one passage that repeats itself this was a cute story. Love lost, love gained, and a damsel who can take care of herself, but also isnt afraid to have some help. Enjoyable overall.
