Pete the Cat decided to throw the perfect pizza party. He invites all his friends, and the fun is about to begin when suddenly they realize that each one's idea of a perfect pizza may be different than the others.
Oh Pete the Cat... I'm honestly shocked my daughter loves these books so much. The art is not the finest and is rather simplistic, the authors use words/phrases like "groovy" and "out of sight" which she doesn't really hear except, well, in Pete the Cat books, but she just delights in all of Pete's antics.
It's a cute book. If you're trying to read it at a fairly quick pace, I suggest reading it a few times to get a rhythm to it before trying it aloud. It's repetitive, but the amount of alliteration you'll encounter by the last couple of pages is rather impressive.
My daughter finds this one funny, and loves the endpapers which show a bunch of... interesting alternate pizza choices including smelly socks. While it may not be the finest of the Pete books, it does make for a fun read and one apparently required any time we decide to eat pizza. 3/5 stars

This is one of my favorite Pete the Cat books because it was always the #1 pick in the School Library when the children were ready to listen to book. As I read this book, it was so hilarious the way they would yell out their reactions to each toppings of the pizza! 🤣 And, the very reason I just FELL IN LOVE with this Book for Always. 💚

Pete the Cat returns in this eleventh full-sized picture-book devoted to his adventures, this time inviting all of his friends over for a pizza party. Our feline hero has definite ideas about what makes the perfect pizza - cheese and pepperoni, in his case - but each of his friends has their own favorite topping. Can Pete keep his cool, when each new idea is mentioned...?
Although not the best of the Pete the Cat picture-books (I tend to prefer the early ones, written by Eric Litwin), Pete the Cat and the Perfect Pizza Party is engaging enough, and is sure to appeal to fans of this cool cat. I appreciated the message about learning to adapt, when our friends have their own ideas about the perfect snack (or activity, or anything else), and the artwork is as bright and colorful as ever. Unlike some of the more recent holiday-themed Pete the Cat books (which are smaller than these regular picture-books), this one didn't feel as much like coattail-riding. Recommended to fans of Pete the Cat.

So cute and very alliterative :-D Perfect for helping a kid with speech while conveying an important life lesson.
Read as part of my new "Settle back Sunday" initiative where I take advantage of access to children's books I can borrow and give back. When I was a kid, the weekly trips to our town library were some of the few things I loved about my childhood. And the pile of books mom would bring home, from picture books to chapter books, were the things that got me through many a terrible time.

Pete the Cat has a pizza party, and he and his friends disagree about what toppings make the perfect pizza. The result is a pepperoni, pretzel, pistachio, pickle, popcorn, papaya pizza. The moral looks like it will be too many chefs spoil the soup, but instead it is "the perfect pizza is a pizza shared with friends".

I enjoy children’s books and I usually read a couple of Amazon prime picture books each month. While I like Pete the Cat, this book in the series, was not a favorite. The entire book was repetitious. Each page built on the first, adding another topping for a pizza. It was cute, but maybe I missed something by reading it alone. I might have found it a lot more amusing, if I read it with a couple of silly, giggling children.

This is a cute story about Pete making pizza and combining it with a party. He starts with a basic pepperoni pizza and his friends want to add some unusual toppings. Kids will enjoy it. Colorful illustrations make this one lots of fun. Highly recommended for Grades K-2.

Cute & Fun
As always with Pete the Cat, this is a charming children's book that feels somehow both retro and timeless. I didn't find this one quite as enjoyable as the others I've read, but it was still cute and had a nice message about friendship and trying new foods.

This was our first Pete the Cat book and it didn’t disappoint. I love the rhyming, the usage of the letter P, the illustrations, the message, all of it was 5/5 stars ⭐️ Would read more of these and recommend. I just dislike how expensive these books are so probably stick to the library for now.

'Pete the Cat and the Perfect Pizza Party' by Kimberly & James Dean is a cute story about friendship and learning to appreciate different foods. While Pete is content with pepperoni, his friends are interested in trying pretzels, papaya, pickles, and more on their pizza. Despite their questioning of the options presented to them, all of the friends open themselves up to the possibilities that the variety of toppings brings. With the way that kids are often reluctant to try new foods, this book helps to show that trying new things is not necessarily going to be bad, and you may just surprise yourself and find out you like something you never thought you would.
Other fun aspects of the book include alliteration in the repetition of the letter “P” since all of the toppings begin with that letter, and the fun activities the characters get to do as they spend time at the pizza party. The illustrations do a very nice job of bringing the story to life for readers. Another nice addition to a picture book bookshelf, especially if one likes the 'Pete the Cat' series of books.

Pete the Cat hosts a pizza party for him and all his friends. Each friend decides to add an ingredient to the pizza, most of which are uncommon toppings, like pretzels or papaya. With each new ingredient, the pizza has become more and more abstract, but in the end all the friends care about is sharing the pizza, together. This story emphasizes the importance of friendship. At first, Pete the Cat did not want to ruin his perfect pizza, but his love for his friends was greater than his selfish desires thus demonstrating to the reader that everything is better when it is shared with friends. This book made me think of all the sacrifices my friends have made for me and appreciate the community I have built around me. Connecting this to my own teaching, I want my students to feel that they are supported by their community of peers when they walk into my classroom. By reading this book with students early on in the year, it sets the tone for how our classroom should operate, and more importantly, how we treat one another. As a class, we can use this book to discuss the simple ways students show their friends they appreciate them, even if it is as simple as choosing a pizza topping.

This book is a hit with both mama and the kiddos. I mean who doesn't love 1) Pete the Cat and 2) pizza?
I love Pete the Cat books as a rule. The illustrations are always bright and colorful. Pete helps teach kids to think of others, how to be nice, etc. These are good role model books. This book lives up to these standards.
Basically, Pete wants to eat pizza and then invites his friends so they can all eat pizza together, thus a pizza party. Sounds wonderful. Then everyone discovers they all like different things on their pizzas. What will they do? (dum dum dum!)
If you love Pete the Cat and/or have kids who love Pete the Cat, this book is for you. If you have young kids and want them to enjoy reading, this book is for you. If you are tired of baby board books, Pete the Cat is for you.
Basically, read it. 2 Mom thumbs up.

4/5/2020 ~ It's hard to argue with an entire school's worth of primary-aged children. Pete the Cat flies off the shelves!
In this volume, the alliteration and rhyme make it a joy to read aloud. There's enough repetition that young listeners will be quickly chiming in. Finally, the illustrations give enough support for young readers to figure out what the longer words might be.
