Sasha L. Miller spends most of her time writing, reading, or playing with all things website design. She loves telling stories, especially romance, because there’s nothing better than giving people their happily ever afters. When not writing, she spends time cooking, harassing her roommates, and playing with her cats.
The first half of the story is great with lots of buildup and suspense. Sadly, the ending fell quite flat and skipped the conflict I'd been waiting for, only to reunite 6 months later and catch us up on all that happened. A bit disappointing for me.

I didn't write a review when I read this the first time. I am generally a fan of Miller, but didn't even remember this story. It is a good story, with the focus not being on the romance. The build up was good, with a nice slow pace. However, the climax and conflict solution were too sudden and I would have liked more romantic tension between the characters. Nothing special, but still a good read.
Kryos is on the run from a corrupt mage council and comes back to his tiny home town to take his mother to safety before going on the run again. His mother not wanting to leave is one problem, but there is also Raslin, his childhood friend and secret love. Even after 5 years apart, he is still secretly in love with Raslin, but is it better to tell him the truth? Kryos will most likely die trying to prove the corruption of the council, every decision he makes could doom the people he loves.
It was amazing, as expected. I am horrible at reviews. The book had a great sense of self. The characters were flawed without flaunting them, the world was realistically unexplained, and you got a sense that the characters and the writer cared about the strings that the characters had to the world beyond their romance without getting lost in the big picture. Something I have found a lot of authors aren't capable of doing. It was a joy to read, and I as usual can't wait to read her next story whether its long or short.
