Dark warriors of might...

Mel is a vampire warrior sworn to hunt and kill demons in the dark streets of Vancouver. But he's burdened with a new assignment: find the meaning behind the Vampire Prophecy. Having no faith in the gods and their empty words, he believes there's no truth to the ancient legend until he meets Breeana, a human woman who bears the mark of the prophecy and resembles the mysterious woman haunting his dreams. When a vengeful demon spies Breeana in his arms, she is marked for death. He must take her from the world she knows until he can eliminate the threat. But the real danger is the role Breeana must play in fulfilling the prophecy and the intense feelings she brings out in him. Mel is forced to choose between his obligations to his kind, the world, and the woman he loves. Can he turn his back on love to let her go, or will he risk her life and bind her to him for all eternity?

Small warriors of light...

Veterinarian, Dr. Breeana Spencer yearns for love and companionship, but the disappointment of failed relationships have taken their toll. She now finds solace in romance novels. But when she meets a mysterious stranger, she's drawn to him by a connection so forceful it shatters all reason, leaving her incapable of resisting him. Yet there's more to him than smoldering good looks and a rock-hard body. As she's drawn deeper into his danger-filled world, she learns she's part of an ancient vampire legend. Breeana fears her future is no longer hers and will not include Mel. As their enemies close in, desperate to destroy them both, she must fight to convince Mel her place is at his side. A life-altering choice is before her—one that will take all her courage and love to make.

For thousands of years, a war has been waged between vampires, who are sworn to protect humankind, and demons, who wish to corrupt human souls, and eventually bring about Earth's destruction.
Mel is a vampire warrior with a long and tortured past. Breeana is a woman who has been burned by love in the past, and now lives vicariously through the heroines in her favorite vampire romance novels. When the two cross paths at a local bar, there is an instant attraction. Unfortunately, they are ambushed by two demons. One of the demons blames Mel for the death of her lover and, believing that Mel and Breeana are a couple, vows to kill Breeana in revenge. Knowing that Breeana's life is in danger, Mel has no choice but to bring Breeana with him to his compound, until the vengeful demon is caught and killed. But what will Breeana think when she discovers that she is now living out the plot of one of her novels, for real?

I really enjoyed Love's Prophecy. Mel is a great character, a man who, thanks to some really twisted upbringing, has never really known a moment's happiness, and is not overly quick to believe that Breeana is the one who can bring him the happiness he needs. Breeana is a no-nonsense woman who doesn't take crap from anyone, be they human or vampire, and can more than take care of herself. Needless to say, the vampires, expecting a weakling little human girl, are surprised by her core of inner strength.

This is the first book of a new series. I get the feeling that the next book will be about Kal, Mel's best friend and fellow warrior. He's hinted at a few skeletons in his closet, and I look forward to reading his story.

I had actually read the second book (that's the great thing with these books. They each contribute to the over all story but each can be read as a stand alone and out of order, the I suspect it adds to the fun when read in order. When the third book comes out (I'd love to hear Roarick's story! And I'd love to watch the process as Ike learns more) I will read the first two again in order)

In my review for the second book, Prophecy's Child I mentioned that the problems faced by the leads (well, minus the actual vampire stuff first) and I stand by that. With this book, that isn't the same here. The focus is more on the vampire aspect than love, all there this a lot of love!). But it makes sense. That's the point of a first book. To draw readers into the general then focus more specifically on the characters in the following books.

I'm not normally a vampire fan, so to speak. But Ms. Dyer seems to have a set idea in mind and is following through. For instance, in Twilight the focus is almost complete on the triangle of Bella, Edward and Jacob. If you don't want to read about romance, then you shouldn't bother even starting it.

The Prophecy series is not focus just on love but how it can affect certain other events. It's something new without repeating the same plot over and over.

Sadly, I had to take away a star but it was my own fault. As a vampire it is almost a given that there will be erotica and gory scenes. I made the mistake of forgetting that. This next statement will sound ridiculous but I'm hoping you will understand. I made the mistake of reading it while I ate. Ms. Dyer is so excellent at making one picture the scene. Having said that, I couldn't finish my lunch.

Another good book by a gifted writer!

3 1/2 Stars!

I really liked this book, but I didn't love it. The main characters, Mel, (the vamp) and Breeana, (his human love interest), started their relationship off nicely and I thought to myself, this is a true vampire-romance book. Let me tell ya, it was nice getting back to what I love about a good paranormal love story. Although for me...once they met and endured a dangerous situation together, I was no longer quite as entertained.

The insta-love, which some people love and some people don't, (myself being one of them), was my first hurdle. I looked past it though and kept going...hoping to get back that feeling of enjoyment I had earlier. But then, something happened about 20% in when the dialogue became so lovey-dovey it invariably caused a few eye-rolls without my consent. (Insta-love...there's that hyphenated word again and the cause of my dilemma.) The love scenes were extremely passionate and illicitly steamy...nice, right?? Yeah, but here's another reason I cringed. The word "shaft" was used...and more than once. Forgive me, but I just couldn't get my brain past that...ahem...word.

Let me tell you what I did like: the story. Yes, the adventure was really great and it's why I kept reading. Dyer took a fresh approach to the vampire's history I cant say enough good things about that and what was even better, it was well planned out and thoughtfully executed. It felt like I was reading a mixture between Twilight and the Black Dagger Brotherhood all mixed up in one well written novel. And for that, I sincerely applaud Ms. Dyer.

Brenda did an amazing job putting a unique spin on Vampires while delivering a romance story that will have your pulse racing. This story could easily be a movie that everyone would go see. I will definitely be collecting the entire series.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

4 stars

Lately, I've been reading a lot of NA Contemporary, so when I saw a post from Brenda Dyer about her latest vampire story, the second in a series, I jumped at the opportunity to read something different. I've missed my paranormal stories, especially the vampires. And, boy am I glad I saw Ms. Dyer's post. I thoroughly enjoyed both books in this series.

This first book, Love's Prophecy, introduces readers to vampire warriors. The warriors are the children of Vampier and have been sent to earth to protect humans from demons that inhabit the bodies of humans who have sold their souls to the devil. There is a spiritual war going on for earth and the destruction of as many human souls as the devil can take away from the Creator. The devil appears to be winning this war, so the Creator allows an old prophecy, the Vampire Prophecy, to be found which will bring about saviors to end the war.

Mel is a vampire, a demon slayer. He's scorching hot and mysterious, as all vampires should be. Breeana is a human...a vet by day and rocker by night. The two are instantly attracted to each other for reasons neither understand, outside of lust. But there is a purpose and a destiny for these two.

This story moves at a really good pace. It catches your attention right in the beginning and has a good amount of action to go along with the steamy scenes. I loved that Breeana reads vampire fiction and was kind of waiting for her "vampire" to come along...and that he actually turned out to be a vampire. I mean, who isn't reading these stories and waiting for her own vampire?? I also liked that Breeanna was smart enough not to fight Mel on staying with him until the demon hunting her was killed. So many times, the heroine makes stupid decisions which place her in bad situations just for the sake of the hero getting to save the day.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story. I started the second book as soon as I finished this one. If I had the rest of the series, I would still be reading. I loved the characters, the style of writing, the amount of action, and the pace of the story. I can't wait to read about the other vampire warriors and find out how the prophecy will unfold.

When I read about this book and noticed that it had vampire's in it I just had to give it a try. I didn't know if it would keep my attention when I saw how many pages that I had to read. I thought why not. I didn't have anything to lose.

I loved this book and I couldn't put it down so needless to say I read this book in one night because I couldn't put it down. The author did a wonderful job and didn't give too much info to make it seem it was over my head.

Mel seems like the kind of vampire I would love to meet. He is so sexy and secretive. I hated the childhood that he had but he has Breeana to bring light back into his life.

Some books you can read at face value, but there's something eerily believable between the lines of Love's Prophecy. Ms. Dyer hasn't just been creative, she's reasoned out an entirely new role for Vampires, and you won't believe what it is.

The heat level between Mel and Breeana makes a woman long to walk the dark, wet streets of Vancouver in the off chance she might run into a Vampire. The author doesn't duplicate the old myths, she explains them, and douses the BS leaving a clean tale and purpose of what Vampires really are, and how they came to be. Creative, page turning, heat seeking story telling. Keep your eyes on this author. She has visions, no one else has.

Where to start... WOW!
I'm not sure if any of you have ever experience one of those "what in the hell was I waiting for to read this?!" moments. I did with Love's Prophecy and I'm kicking myself for not reading it much sooner.
It's exciting, sexy, fun, funny and leaves you wanting more in the very best way possible. That's saying something ;)
Now I must get my hands on the next in the series because I find myself with a but of a crush. Anyone else find themselves drooling a bit over Kal or is it just me?
A definite must read for all you vampire lovers out there!
A 4.5 rating rounded to a solid 5. Bravo Brenda! Bravo!

There is a purpose and time for all things and everything happens in that time! The Creator

In this the first book in Brenda Dyer’s Prophecy series we begin a journey to find the purpose and understanding of things that have been foretold. In Love’s Prophecy, Mel, a vampire warrior is assigned a job to research and find out what an ancient prophecy recently uncovered means. Not enamored with his assignment, Mel puts it on the backburner and continues to battle demons and protect mankind. His decision leads him to Breeana, a human that carries the mark mentioned in the prophecy.

Breeana’s love of music causes her to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. While playing with her band at a club, Breeana finds herself drawn to a man like no one she has ever met before. When he is attacked outside the club, she discoveries that there really are things that go bump in the night! The battle that she witnesses, plus the discovery of her birthmark causes Mel to kidnap her and take her to their base. The feelings that the two feel for each other cannot be denied and consumes them both. But vampires and humans do not mix in Mel’s world, so he refuses to believe that she is his mate.

Uncovering the meaning of the prophecy and why Breeana carries the mark is a question that must be answered. It is vital to not only humankind but also vampire, because if the demons win Earth will be lost to all.

Would I recommend this book: Yes! Good vs. Evil, the battle for Earth and a true love story with a HEA best describes this phenomenal book. Hot, sexy interaction and scenes that smolder will keep you reading.

Would I recommend this author: Yes! This remarkable author created a world where vampire and humankind co-exist. Each character she created has his or her individual personality formed in such a way that they seem life-like. Her storyline is original, well thought out and I cannot wait to read more!

Ms. Dyer has written a book that I will return to again and again. The lead characters of Mel and Breeana are both likeable, sexy and pull on the heartstrings with their respective back stories. Mel is a hero you immediately fall in love with and want to save. Breeana is tough and loyal and the perfect companion for Mel. The story drew me in from the first page with its interesting Biblical imagery and fresh take on an old story. Ms. Dyer has managed to make vampires interesting and new, and I really respect that! She has created a new mythology that makes sense and is compelling. The climax was suspenseful and kept me guessing. The ending was satisfying and made me sigh. I cannot ask for more. Kudos to Brenda Dyer!

I love the way that the events all flow together and there is no stopping of the events. It is almost impossible to put the book down because you want to know what is going to happen and how each event is going to turn out. Mel and Breena are great characters. They both bring in something that allows for the feeling of peace that results in the relationship. It was sad and scary towards the end but the bad was well worth all of the good.

This book wasn't exactly what I expected when I read the blurb description. However I won't be to nick picky about how it really didn't meet my expectations.

I will just say, Love's Prophecy is a lovely story about two unlikely people finding one another at their most lowest points of theirs lives and fate step in an deemed to put them together.

There were some grammar error, but other than that the story was just okay. I mean the author provided some fight action and she give us some steamy sex action but other than that the story line just felled short.

Now, you know my love for the Black Dagger Brotherhood. That series has started my love for Paranormal Romance. And being a fan, I would love to introduce to you its cousin who is just as badass and sexy might I add. Dyer has given us an amazing new take on vampires and it was so good, I have every intention on getting the next book as soon as possible.

Breeana and Mel are just amazing together. Even though this is a paranormal romance, they feel like a real couple. When Mel tells her what he is, her reaction was epic. She love vampire romance novels and only her best friend knows that. So she immediately believes her friend has pulled a candid camera moment on her. You couldn't help but smile at this moment. It is probably a reaction I would have too. I would definitely believe it was a prank as well. I love Mel so much. He was a great complex character that was so buried under guilt, all he knew was fighting. He didn't really live. And given his backstory, you can see why. It will have you in tears. I love his scenes with Breeana, you can truly feel that weight getting lifted off of him every time they are together. Dyer really knows her characters and really knows how to draw you in. You feel a connection to them instantly.

I am also very curious about her other characters specifically Kal. Kal and Mel are best friends. They are always hanging out. Kal is the joker. He is such fun and I love the bromance between him and Mel. Kal may seem like a guy who only cares about video games and women, but he cares for Mel and can see what is brewing between him and Breeana. I love how much he looks out for him. There are more men in the house and we only get snippets, but I can't wait for more especially their captain Roarik. Goodness, he is scary. I would love to see him and Wrath in a fight. Just saying.

I couldn't put this book down. I love how protective Mel was of Breeana. He doesn't want that crazy she-demon coming after her especially given that Breeana is the only connection to the prophecy. I love how Dyer has thought that up and I can't wait to see what is to come. I love the connection between vampires and religion. Dyer has done an amazing job creating this story, it was brilliant to say the least.

I won't spoil anything, but I love where this book went and how it developed. Again, fans of BDB will adore this. This is a love story I intend to reread again. It was beautifully written. There was laughing and a lot of badassry. The romance feels real and will keep you turning the pages because you have to know how things will end. It is just too good not to. Not to mention, this book really stands on its own. It may remind me of BDB, but the characters and the world shine a different light on PNR and vampires as a whole. Highly recommended. This is within my top 5 favorite reads this year. It has made my vampire-loving heart very happy.

Okay, I’m going to give it to you straight. I normally don’t read much paranormal, but I made a vow to myself at the beginning of the year that I was going to step out of my box and read genres I usually don’t.

So, I’ve read and heard a great deal about Brenda Dyer’s LOVE’S PROPHECY story and thought that would be a great place for me to start. After all it involved love…and I’m all about the romance. And I also read it’s not the typical vampire story…so of course that was a determining factor in my purchase as well. I’ve watched a lot of vamp movies (yes, I know…I don’t read paranormal, but I usually enjoy a vamp movie) and was anxious to see a new spin on an old tale  I wasn’t disappointed.

From the very beginning I was drawn into this story. I loved Ms. Dyer’s characterization. Her characters jumped off the pages and I felt like I was right there with them, living each scene and feeling all they felt…and let me tell you there were several tense and emotional moments. If time allowed I wouldn’t have been able to put this story down, but for some reason I have to tend to family and work…so I can’t read 24-7…lol.

I loved Mel and Breeana and traveling their journey alongside them. The storyline was interesting through the entire book and kept me turning pages and before I knew it I was finished. And you know that little sigh you give sometimes at the end of a book when it’s totally satisfying. I did that!

Very recommended read. I’m so glad I tried something new and happier still that it was Love’s Prophecy.

Thank you Brenda Dyer for an awesome read!!!

I have to say I read the second book 1st but I love that one so much I decided to read the first I know it's backwards but swell Breeana is your average women/ human she is at a club when she meets Mel he seem like an average guy he walks here to her car when Mel sees a group of demons you see Mel isn't human he's a vampire and the demons recognize h when Mel tells breeana to get to her car and she refuses the she demon makes a point in targeting her thinking breeana is Mel's lover at the te it's pay back for him taking the she demons lover. Breeana is know needing guarded and protected for saving Mel from certain death because the she demon shot him with silver so she is trust into a world of vampires and demons. Will Mel and breeana get together? What's so special about breeana that makes her different from other humans? What dose her birthmark have to do with her new life? Will Mel be able to protect breeana from the evil she demon? Will they have a happy ending? To find out what happens to them all I strongly recommend that you buy the book it was a great book. I couldn't put it down. 5 gold stars a definite must read.

I'm always a bit leery with new authors and their vampires. Some authors take the ridiculous route while other take the generic and over-used route. However, I was pleasantly surprised with this book. The author found her own new twist for her vampires and I thoroughly enjoyed reading how she made it all come to life.
Love's Prophecy was well written and introduced plenty likeable characters. There were plently of points were I laughed out loud at the humor. The love story between Mel and Breeana was very sweet. Mel truly deserved someone wonderful to enter his life after his painful past. Very tender moments between the two and also some very hot love scenes.
All in all, I am extremely happy with the book. I only hope I will get to read more about some of the other characters (Kal!!) in Mel's clan at a later date. I defnitely have a new author to watch for.

I have to say, Love’s Prophecy is a unique and inspiring story about vampires, love, and destiny. At first I was a little on alert as it starts off with God and the angels / Lesser Gods, and as a Wiccan I worried that the religious tones would ruin the story for me. Boy, was I WRONG.

I loved the way she depicted all the Gods and how fate, free will, love, and need all interweave into a sexy, loving story of Breeana and Mel finding not just their way to each other but also in dealing with the Prophecy, and all the pain and fear it causes.

I don’t want to give too much away, but wow. Brenda spins a tale that kept me riveted to the page (and up well past midnight, lol) until the very last word. If you love a powerful romance, a hot man, and a little nummy fang action, then you have to pick up a copy of Love’s Prophecy today!

Mel is a vampire, who has suffered mostly at the hands of his father. His mother wasn't in his life until just before he married. His father had Mel's wife and Mother killed, because Mel refused to obey his orders. To Say Mel is haunted his an understatement. He feels unworthy of love or happiness... Until he meets Brenna.

Brenna is a human female, sporting a very unique birth mark, which ties into the vampire's mission on Earth. She is also part of a Band, which plays at the Green tree, where she is destined to meet Mel.

This is a tale of sacrifice, love, and destiny. I liked that the vampires aren't portrayed as evil blood suckers, but as humanity's protector's. This history woven into the story was interesting.

❤️ I loved the inner voice monologues their self talk - what their character is thinking really added to the storyline.

Mel is so hard, sexy and secretive almost impenetrable. While Breeana is kindness and hopefulness to his harsh outlook on life and Breeana will break downs his walls.

Couldn't put this one down! I had to KNOW what happened to Mel and Breena. I think one of the best signs of a good book for me is when I find myself thinking and worrying about the characters during the day when I can't be reading. I had a lot of worry for these two! Mel is such a great dark hero you can't help but fall in love with him. I'm completely sucked into this world, and I can't wait for the next book.
