I have read a number of books on dream interpretations. This book took time to explain the importance of looking into the setting, the timing and the emotions involved with and around the dream. It stressed the importance of letting the Holy Spirit direct and guide our thoughts as we seek the interpretation of our dreams or the dreams of others.

Depending on the circumstances and emotions surrounding the dream, the correct interpretation can and should propel us further along in our walk with the Lord or even correct or show us areas we need to deal with in our lives. I enjoyed and learned much from the sample dreams included with their interpretations.

The book has a 3000 word dictionary, a wonderful tool to guide us with general meanings of various, words, numbers, colors, names, etc. that appear in our dreams.

Since approximately one third of our life is spent sleeping, God finds this a great time to teach and reveal Himself and His secrets to us. He does this as we willingly place ourselves ready with pen and paper by our bedside and with expectation of Him showing up as we prepare to sleep.

As you read this book, you will find great insights to increase or stir up dreams to take place in your life and with understanding.

I hardly know how to rate this book, as it's so completely new to me. Some chapters I think deserved 5 stars (Biblically grounded and very insightful), while I'd rate others 2-3 stars when the reasoning seemed way out in left field. In fact, I almost stopped reading because one chapter seemed SO bizarre, and made such assertions as EVERY dream is from the Lord. But I persisted, reasoning that there was no reason to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Just because I didn't agree with everything the authors said didn't mean I could learn nothing from them. I was glad I did persist, as a subsequent chapter illuminated a biblical story, and several biblical "types," in prophetic ways I had never before thought of.

I'm pretty skeptical of a lot of their dream interpretations, though, as I don't see how they can possibly ground them in scripture if the element in the dream refers to something modern (and while there are more examples of God speaking to biblical characters in cryptic dreams than I had previously realized, there aren't enough to substantiate some of the symbolism they assert). Then again, when Joseph interpreted his dreams, he had no scripture at all to go on. All of it had to come by inspiration from God. So in theory, the same could be true today. But it's one thing to say that, and another to say it's possible to publish a *dictionary* of God's metaphors that hold true for dream interpretation across the board. In the authors' defense, though, they are not claiming that the dictionary covers all possible interpretations. But even what they do claim seems quite a stretch, and can only be based upon their personal experiences, at best.

One thing I do think I gained from the book, though, is the awareness that my dreams *might* be God talking to me. So I've begun to pay more attention to them, and to pray about them to see whether or not they might contain a hidden significance. If there is another method for the Lord to speak to me that gets my conscious mind and biases out of the way, then that is definitely a good thing!

This book is split into 3 major sections. Please do not skip the first section and dive right into the third sections. The first sections contains valuable perspective and scripture. Thankful to have heard about this book and even more thankful for the friend who got it for me =)

The glossaries are extensive!

I started this book on audio and ended up borrowing a copy to pilfer through the glossaries, which take up the majority of the book’s volume.

I love being able to turn to any page and find the biblical interpretation of a sign or number. It really brings some of my dreams full circle.

I specifically love the numbers and the inclusion of topics that are typically taboo in Christian media. I do think some of the glossary items focused on the negative aspect of some imagery, but it’s obviously trying to create a guideline without any context.

I think dreams are still personal, and not every image or message you receive will be found in a book, but having the resource is amazing.

Keep dreaming!

Loved this book! As an avid dreamer I am constantly wondering about my dreams and the meanings of them, often for months. This book gave me some great insight into how God speaks through dreams and has really helped me to understand more of the dreams I am having. The dream dictionary at the back is invaluable!

Some of this was based in scripture but a lot of it left me feeling weird… I think discernment from the Holy Spirit should always be the thing you analyze dreams though and not a dictionary of dream translations

Definitely don't just jump straight into the dictionary part but read the whole thing for context. This book has been so helpful though recently

BIBLICALLY Dreambook: great and amplified

This is more thorough and very helpful. It's noticeable that much work has been done for the birth of this dreambook.

I had a hard time getting into this book at first. I felt like its interpretations were a little too erratic for me to follow. After trying to implement some of what I learned, I found it to be very helpful. It helped me understand dreams better and the way that God uses them. I have never studied anything on this subject before and I found this book to be very informative.

`The Divinity Code' is written from a Christian/biblically based perspective. The topic of this book intrigued me as I have always been interested in dreams and visions and their interpretations. I have done a little dream journaling over the past number of years with dreams I have thought to be significant. However, the book challenged me to take my dreams (all of them) much more seriously. There are a number of excellent real-life experiences given to help the reader gain a better understanding of what the authors are trying to convey.
This book is full of wisdom concerning the `dream realm'; it gives very practical advice on how to gage and interpret your dreams correctly through the ultimate truth of God's word (scriptural references) and most importantly through guidance of His spirit. I found that not only did this book teach me regarding dreams, but also challenged me in how I walk with God (i.e. what is the true state of my heart?). I felt that I gained an even greater glimpse into the heart of God for people, and how through all things (the good, the bad and the ugly) God is working for our good, constantly reaching out to us in different ways. Don't be fooled by dreams you think are weird or insignificant, there is meaning and a message in all of them.
'The Divinity Code' is very uplifting, inspiring and encouraging; and can help build faith in the reader. Practical aspects of the book that I found really helpful include:

* Guidelines for interpretations that rely on God's wisdom
* Which aspects of dreams need to be considered when interpreting
* Questions to ask to help clarify the validity of an interpretation
* 101 sample dreams and interpretations
* Metaphor dictionary for guidance purposes
* Name and place dictionary

What a great book, I am so grateful that I was able to read 'The Divinity Code'. This book is a treasure I will cherish and a reference I will most certainly use throughout my life. Well worth the read (more than once).

“The Divinity Code to Understanding Your Dreams and Visions” is by far the most resourceful and well referenced guide to dream interpretation I have ever come across. I found all 10 chapters to be important and helpful reading. They explain exactly how to receive confirmation of what the Holy Spirit is saying. It has helped to unlock the mysteries of the parables in which God speaks to me in my dreams. It is both scripturally sound and comprehensive, making it a valuable resource. A well referenced tool with solid theological foundations, I found it to be practical, but always to be used with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
“The Divinity Code to Understanding Your Dreams and Visions” is an encyclopaedia of knowledge and a handbook for symbolism. It is a reference book I will keep by my bed and a necessity to pack in my suitcase. It also is the perfect gift. This is ground-breaking for the body of Christ.

It is an excellent in depth book on dreams and their possible symbolism. For many of the words there are multiple definitions, so I rely on the Holy Spirit to guide me as to which one is applicable. It is an excellent book.

I recently purchased Dreams Made Easy by Barbara Dechant, but I kept coming back to this book because it has the symbols found in my dreams, whereas the other book didn't. Example: I was walking down a road in a subdivision wearing only a white towel while pushing a shopping cart. The Dreams Made Easy book didn't have 'towel'. But neither one had shopping cart/buggy.

I highly recommend this book and believe it is a must have for anyone wanting to understand the symbolism of their dreams.
