I thought that this book was good for a children's book. It was funny and I enjoyed reading it to my little cousin. I think that my cousin, Spencer, really enjoyed it because bears are his favorite animal, so this book was perfect for him.

Brown bear got very curious when a honeybee buzzed passed him so he followed the honeybee in search for honey. Then two greedy geese saw brown bear following the honeybee and thought wherever the bear is going there has to be berries. When three shy mice saw the bee, bear, and geese, they followed to look for corn. Then when the bee eventually flew into its hive all the animals were disappointed that they followed one another in search for food. So all the animals went running back to there homes but on there way they ran into a stone wall and they all fell on top of each other.

The yellow honeybee was just trying to buzz back home. Brown bear was a very curios bear. The two white geese were very greedy and always wanted food to themselves. Three little mice were very very shy.

This story took place during the summer when the all the trees had leaves on them and every bush was filled with berries and all the animals were out strolling along the land.

I would definitely recommend this book to children 5-8 years old because it is a good children's book to read to them. I think that they would really enjoy it and get a good laugh from it. I recommend this book to both boys and girls.

What happens when a bear goes in search of honey?

Much better illustrations (to my taste) than "Winnie the Poo"! In particular, I really liked this double page spread.

On the left page, read this text

Two greedy geese spotted one tiptoeing bear.
"A-ha!" they whispered. "Where there's a bear,
there must be berries... ripe berries,
sweet berries, juicy berries, squishy berries.
Let's follow that bear as quietly as can be."

On the right page, what do you see?

The suprisingly graceful-and-stealthy bear is following the path of the bee. This is typical of Catchpool's irresistible adventure.

Adorb! FIVE STARS.

This was fun to read. The plot is a build on build on type.. Like the old "hole in the bottom of the sea" song. One thing leading to the other and so on. Kids usually like that. The pictures were nice too.

Lovely story which reminded me a lot of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt! Really excellent for using a lot of repetition and an opportunity for the children to feel part of the book!

This is a book that I picked up from Big Lots in the clearance wrack because I have an unhealthy obsession with bears. I didn’t expect much from it, but after reading it I found I actually really like this book! The authors incorporate counting into a humorous adventure to and from a bee’s home and a bear’s home. It’s really funny to see the different animals and hearing what they “think”. It is written in quotations so we are able to hear what they are thinking as they start following each other. Each animal thinks the other animals knows where food is that they like. For example, the bear thinks the bee is going to where there is honey and there are geese that think the bear is going where there will be berries. I think this would be an adorable Read Aloud. It could be beneficial for silent reading for late first graders to second graders maybe.

The illustrations are extremely adorable! The bear and the bee have humanistic features. The bear, mice and bee both have smile face type facial expressions. The colors depict a bright and sunshiny day. Nearly half of the page on each spread is blue sky. The way the bear is drawn to tip toe after the bee is HILARIOUS! I laughed so hard at this illustration. Also, when the geese see the bear, there is grass hanging out of their beaks. There are twirly lines that follow the bee, illustrating the bee’s path that he has flown. There is no white space usage. On one of the double page spreads the picture is fuzzed out around the edges, but instead of white on the outside, it is a pale yellow. The end pages show a blue sky with grass, flowers and the one bee.

I really enjoyed this book and I would definitely recommend it!!

xoxo, Jade

One brown bear, one yellow bee, 2 greedy geese, and 3 shy mice all follow each other to get some tasty food, until they all land ina twist and crash! This book is filled with very cute and fun illustrations. Also, it contains many sound words, animal foods, descriptive words, and numbers that can be used with young students and readers.

This book talks about not always being able to get what you want. The bear goes after the honey for honey, and the geese after the bear for berries, etc. In the end they did not get what they wanted but they were still able to become friends. I thought this book was kind of random and average.

Great book to read to someone. My son got so much into it, he took the book from me and started to read it back to me. I think it is slightly misnamed ... as the bear is not the biggest trouble maker.
