The Garbage Collector. Dan Ames

An ex cop. Now a PI who takes care of jobs most guys won't touch. Messy, violent ones. That's how he got his nickname. The "garbage collector." An extremely well known law firm in Detroit has hired them to track down one of their partners who has taken very valuable information from them. They also told him the guy is an ex delta operative. Turns out the lawyers lied. He's a she, the delta operative is her bodyguard. They what her dead, and they are going to pin the murder on him. Fast paced novella. Enjoyed!

A quick short story by the master of pulp fiction Dan Ames. The Garbage Collector is the first story about the character with the same handle. Originally published under the pen name Dani Amore. I love the dialogue and action in this authors work also the hard boiled theme is to my liking. In this story our main guy is going to Florida to find a missing lawyer, but all is not what it seems...

Shorter story but loaded with exciting dangers and (harder) profanity. Free when joining the authors club.

A good little short story, 18 minute read.
This guy tracks down people and takes care of business, any way he knows how.

"OH NO THEY DIDN'T"

Despicable lawyers and their clients, but we all know that, like it's unbelievable. But we also know that Detroit, Michigan also known as" Motor City", and another label "Motown"has always been a home to Al Capone, Mafioso. A short synopsis of how fire is met with fire; set up with
a target painted on your back. A quick witted mind, whose recognizes and acknowledges his
hunches, which have kept him alive this long.
He knows the personalities of the firm that hired him...it's like take the money and watch your "back"..and now, I'll say it's a quick read that's enjoyable looking forward to adventure #2..ENJOY your pina colada..

Every time I read a book by Dani Amore, I feel I’m in the hands of a real pro. A body is discovered, and the Garbage Collector (that’s just a nickname) has to find out who did it and why.

Be aware that once you start this book, you will probably not put it down again even if you smell smoke or if fire breaks out. The sentences are so clipped, the dialogue so spare, I found myself devouring the story just to know what was coming next.

Reading this sort of mystery is always a pleasure because pros like Dani Amore stick to certain formulas – there has to be some violence, there has to be some badness – but I’ve learned with this author to expect the unexpected. I love what this Garbage Collector accomplishes with a baseball bat.

Until you reach the end of the story, you are held hostage to your Kindle. Short, sweet, and explosive, this book delivers on its promise.

Short crime stories are always a bit hit and miss - some authors have a good grasp on what constitutes a good piece of short fiction. Dani Amore is one of those authors!

The Garbage Collector is the nickname for the main character of the story - a former cop-turned PI. Clever turns-of-phrase, interesting plot (even for a short story) and reasonably satisfying conclusion makes this 25-page story certainly worth a look, if nothing else.

It was extremely short. I liked the character, but he wasn't overly developed because of the short length. The plot also wasn't off the hook because of the space limitation.

I would read a fuller, more fleshed out version of this.

Pretty good short story. I hated it ended so quickly. I like Dani Amore's style of writing. I will be purchasing the next book in this series.
