Rate this book
When the fairies come to take her soul to their realm one warm summer night, Saffron Keller is suitably enchanted. When she begins to see creatures lurking in her woods and fields, at her new job at the convenience store, and in her own home - her life becomes a waking nightmare. But that's nothing compared to the thing she finds waiting for her at the movie theatre. Moving effortlessly across time & space, Fairy Circle tells a tale that crosses centuries of overlap between Saffron, fairies Li & Ny, and the vampire Jethin. Sometimes, you don't really want your dreams to come true.

Hea y'all I have been reading Fairy Circle and let me say I completely, absolutely, and utterly enjoyed this book. Author Johanna Pontes Frappier did an incredible job she took fairies, vampires, humans, and reincarnation and arranged them in a story that describes life and living in a whole new light. I would say her books moral is what you do in this life will determine where and what you are in your next life. I love that Johanna made sure to explain every detail of how past lives work, how you know all the people around you, how you have shared lives with them before the trick is just figuring out how you knew them. Was she your mother, your friend, or maybe your daughter. The characters in Johannas' book are fantastical and believable. Saffron the main character is a recluse, she is scared of just about everything but there is a very good reason for all this fear. When she sleeps her nightmares are relentless and passionate which aggravates and confuses the still pristine Saffron. The nightmares scare her and terrorize her even in the day light hours. The author takes fairies and gives them a new spin and I love the new twist she has created. Johanna describes each as a thing of beauty and adoration but at the same time there is a serious air of danger and lies that floats around them and Saffron must figure out what is happening to her to fully understand what they want with her, a human. Now if all this doesn't sound exciting enough throw a vampire in there too. Saffrons' desperation to have no fear and to gain control of her spiraling life drives her right into the arms of a vampire, but will she figure out his true intentions before it's to late to go back? All the characters are tied together, they all play a vital role in what will become of Saffron and her future lives if she is even going to get to have any. Above all this literary greatness there is also the tried and true romance taking place but this love is no fantasy it's more like a torture devise to Saffron. I am completely in love with this book and its solid storyline and gut clenching twists that I never could have guessed would come from this seemingly cute story, nope this is a dramatic twist to things that have been put to light with love stories and fantasies, remember that even in the light the most beautiful things still have a shadow, a dark place where anything can hide. I can give this book 5 stars but it deserves more for originality and content. So if you like Fairies, Vampires, and the dark sides of things the like then do yourself a huge favor and get this book, start the series and fall in love with all the characters. 5 out of 5 stars for Fairy Circle by Johanna Pontes Frappier.

From the moment you start reading, until the end of the book...the author takes you for a wild and crazy ride. Fairy Circle in my oppinion is a mix between Wicked Lovely, Fallen and maybe a smidge of True Blood. You get the fairies, the vampires, and the past lives all mixed into one delicious book.

I didn't fall in love with the main character, Saffron, but I enjoyed her immensely. I enjoyed her quirky nature and all the situations she finds herself in. She has these weird dreams, some explicit, ever since she was young, which only get worse as time goes on. Saffron's life is opened up to all kinds of freakish things after spending time in the fairy realm. She see's ghosts in her bedroom, has garden gnomes living in yard, and she comes face to face with a vampire intent on making her part of the undead.

The other characters take the reign a few times in the book giving you a brief background into how they fit into Saffron's life. My favorite character was Markis who is just too sweet and adorable. (I have a soft spot for cute and adorable characters, I just want to eat them up).

All in all a good read from an author with an awesome imagination. Just when you think the storyline is going in one direction, she pulls a 180, leaving you stunned. And not to mention a cliff hanger of an ending. Go read Fairy Circle for a different and unique read!

Johanna Frappier has such a distinctive voice. The main character, Saffron, just leaps off the page in full technicolour - she's quirky and vulnerable, yet she's got sass and feistyness too. Even without the awesomeness of the story, I'd still want to get to know her. Plus, her love interests are all hot!

Saffron sees things that other people don't. It's creepy and terrifying and the intrigue catapulted me through the novel. I love the worlds that the author has created - present, past and magical - they're all interesting and enchanting with an underlying menace that thrills.

Best of all, the story didn't take me where I expected it to go. But now I need the next one in the series. Hurry up, Johanna (no pressure).

I ADORED this book, everything about it just blew me away. There is so much emotion behind the main character, Saffron, that I was whisked away to her world the second I began reading. Not only did I feel her pain, but my heart literally ached for the girl and the unusual situation she had found herself trapped within.
Unlike many books in this genre, I had absolutely no idea which way the story was taking me. It was completely unpredictable, leaving me sitting on the edge of my seat throughout, with my fingers tensed with worry for Saffron.
Johanna Frappier is a fantastic story teller, weaving intricate tales within the story itself, culminating in a nail biting finale... and leaving me desperate for book number two!
I can't wait to read more from this author, and I would highly recommend the Fairy Circle series to EVERYONE!

I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. It was so well written. Johanna Frappier has a great great imagination. I could imagine the scenery as I was reading. The detail in this book, was so vivid. It brought me back to my late teen-early twenties. I cannot wait until the next of the series comes out.

I'm breathless. It's a perfect lead-in for the sequel. The theme concerning control is well worked out. The descriptive passages and psychological insights are marvelous. I can imagine a film treatment because the writing is so vivid. The Jethin temptation scene is superb writing. I was tense.

Wow! The beautiful imagination of Johanna Frappier!! I loved the amazing details that she uses for everything. It feels as though I am walking along with them! Saffron is such a misunderstood person. Both by herself and the people around her. She has no idea why she is afraid of so many things until she is taken to the fairyland to meet Li and Ky. Even then, she's only given part truths. She's frustrated and alone. Shehas had a crush on a boy at school and doesn't know why he would look ather or smile at her. She meets an undesirable person who tries to manipulate her into doing something she knows is not right.
This is the first book in a series.....I can't wait to find out what happens next!!! Great job Johanna!!!

Johanna Frappier has set the bar high with her debut novel, Fairy Circle, Book 1 of 3 in the Fairy Circle Series. While reading, I was transported to each scene by her vivid descriptions. I can see this novel being made into a movie. I'm not going to give any spoilers here. The main character was someone I wanted to cheer for. I really got into this story and couldn't wait until I picked it up again. I have not read Fairy Thief yet but it is on my to read list. If book 1 is any indication of Johanna Frappier's talent, she has a long and lustrious career as a writer. I would recommend this book highly.

Johanna's love for the supernatural and ghostly is very much evident in this story , and i actuaaly felt like i was the one falling in the rabbit hole . This book is twisted ( in a good way ) on soo many levels . A pretty interesting read !

I came for fairies and I got vampires. Sigh.

There's not much to like about this book. Saffron, the protagonist, besides a ridiculous name also acts ridiculous at every turn. NOTHING is explained until the very end. Sometimes Saffron will act in love with Ny, the fairy; sometimes in love with Markis, the human; and sometimes in love with Jethin, the vampire. Other times she's spastic or vacant. She's embarrassed at every little thing. She never leaves the house, although this seems to be because the fairy she has been attached to in past lives, Li, has kept her in the home and afraid to leave. Then, without any explanation, she starts to see creatures everywhere. Dead people, gnomes, then vampires... and just as suddenly she goes from weak-willed to speaking her mind. She's constantly controlled by everyone around her who has known her from her past lives. She's boring and, for some reason, we have to spend most of the first 200 pages reading about Saffron being forced into a job at a convenience store by her mother. I guess the store is just an excuse to continue to show us how "out of it" Saffron is, but the store itself serves no purpose in the larger story.

All I wanted was to finish this book as quickly as possible. It still took me too long.

Oh, and I'd suggest to paranormal/fantasy writers that they stop injecting the 21st century into their books. It really takes me out of this world I'm supposed to be getting caught up in.

1st Line in book---> “Saffron, are you ok?”

REVIEW:
This was one fascinating story!! The whole time I was reading it, I had no idea what the end result would be!! The story is complex and leaves you guessing. You try to piece together the clues that you are given, but when you reach the end.....you're left wanting to know what happens next!!! I know I am!! Mrs. Frappier, I am anxiously waiting for the next installment!!

Saffron has just graduated from highschool, and is perfectly happy just staying at home. Even as her Mother and her boyfriend continously ask what her plans are for the future?? Is she thinking about getting a job or going to college?? Why doesn't she go out with her highschool friends?? She is so tired of the pressure...can't her Mother just understand that she likes being alone!! That she feels secure and safe just staying at home!! She doesn't want any of those things, but she does want to appease her mother. So when she mentions that a clerk position has opened in town she grudgingly applies and gets the job.

Suddenly, Saffron finds herself experiencing weird things. She has always had disturbing dreams since she was a child, but now they become nightmares. She encounters the Fairy world through a form of astral projection. The fairies she meets seem familiar, although she doesn't recall them. As the story progresses, Saffron's simple life becomes more complicated. As her crush begins to notice her and a vampire comes to town, she must figure out what is happening to her and decide who she can trust.

The story started a little slow for me and it also took me a little bit of getting used to. I am used to knowing where the plot is heading or being given an idea about what to expect. With this book, you have to keep reading and piece together the clues the author slowly reveals. I was thoroughly engrossed with the story after it started to pick up! In the beginning, Saffron is timid and a loner. She reminded me of a little bunny that frightens easily. I was happy to see her character grow as the story continues!! The other character are great. Each one of them has his/her own agenda. I felt like I was playing Clue, and to figure out their motives....I loved every minute of it!!! I have my favorites and hope my analysis of them is correct! :D But that can change at anytime, because there is soo much that is left unknown!! Fairy Circle is the first book in the series, and I will definitely be waiting for the next!!

I really wanted to like this novel, as I am a huge fan of fairies and gnomes and ghosts. The beginning holds a lot of promise, introducing us to the fairy world and a range of supernatural creatures, but the beginning is all we really get. There is no development with these creatures, no in-depth look into fairies, and we're left with a story of what is possibly the most irritating protagonist I've ever encountered (Jethin had it right when he called her an annoying girl).

I felt bad for Saffron in the beginning, feeling for her struggles and anxiety. But eventually it just got tedious. She was rude, unchanging, and just never showed any growth at all until maybe the last 3 pages (which are the most interesting and poignant pages in the novel). People tried to help, she acted like a child and shut them out. Ghosts came to her, she ignored them. Instead of facing her problems, she just envisioned herself as dead. Over and over and over again.

And in the midst of this not changing, enters the ever-present vampire. I was disappointed when the book turned from fairies to Saffron's infatuation with being a vampire, even though said vampire ended up being the most interesting character in the novel. For all of his flaws and wrong-doings, he at least has personality. I feel like once Jethin the vampire entered, everything else took a backseat. Plot lines that had been building to this point are dropped by the wayside and never picked up again. Halfway through, the book turns a 180 and focuses on Saffron wanting to be a vampire and ends with her making yet another bad decision because of him.

I suppose overall my issue is that what could have been a really interesting look into these other-worldly lives was tossed aside for yet another vampire, which I was completely not expecting (nor was I expecting the sudden entrance of God and religion). The book has a lot of potential with these other stories (Coco and Markis, Audrey, the gnomes, the ghosts, the whole entire aspect of reincarnation) so hopefully they are given more attention in the future books. I also had trouble reading through a lot of the run-ons and choppy sentences, but that's more of a style preference.

Fairy Circle by Johanna Frappier.
This books central Character is named Saffron Keller. Saffron has just finished high school, her mother Audrey wants to know what her life plan is. Basically Saffron doesn't have one, she doesn't even want to leave her own backyard. Audrey nags and nags until Saffron takes a job in a store as a clerk. At night Saffron has weird dreams, that have fairies and other such creatures in them. She also sleepwalks around the time of the full moon so has to be watched so that she comes to no harm. The book looks at the people in Saffron's life and her relationships with them too. I don't want to go into detail for fear of giving spoilers. At times I wished the book moved at a faster pace but, that is just my own taste. I found the way in which it was written similar to the books by Lauren Kate. I think the cover is really good and draws you to the book. Its not the usual type of book I would read, even though the cover did attract me to it.

I simply could not stop reading this one once I started. I don't read a lot of YA, so I can't say really, whether it is like others out there, but to me it seemed totally unique. Sometimes sweet, sometimes creepy, this book packs a wallop on every page. Another reviewer compared it to Alice in Wonderland, and I agree with that assessment. Fairy Circle is quite dark in places, so I would say it's probably better for older teens rather than younger. First book in a series, and you will want to go on!

What an odd book, the first 30-50 pages were torture, the writing clunky, the main protagonist Saffron was irritating as hell! I nearly gave up but only other reviews that said to persevere kept me going. I'm glad I did because the second half of the book was much better, and the introduction of a character in the last third of the book really gave the story an extra dimension. A certainly darker edgier look at the fae.....

This was a Goodreads book that I received. I found this book very dark. It was written for teenagers but I found that it had a lot of sexual expressions in it and parents should read before they allowed their teenagers to read. I would not let either of mine to read. I found the teenager in this book to be rude and depressing.

What a fantastic story!! The author paints a beautiful picture of the fairy world... comments on life and death... I felt like my soul had been soothed by this offering.. I know - melodramatic - but I can't stress enough how much I loved this book. Sorry I only have 5 stars to use to rate it...
