Fiction is about to have a new breed of characters never before featured! The Amethyst Dragon series will introduce you to a whole new brand of creatures, called Dragon Fae. Making their home in Avalon, Dragon Fae are half dragon and half fairy. They are rare creatures, and are the chosen protectors of the fairy realm, as well as humans in the mortal realm. Dragon Fae can take on the form of a dragon, but when in fairy form they do not have wings.

In Book One, Dragon Wings, we meet Dade Blue-Therror, the Amethyst Dragon. He is dubbed this not just for his amethyst eyes, but because he was born of a Blue clan Spring Fairy and a Red clan Summer Dragon. Dade is also Queen Mab's grandson, and heir to the throne of the Seelie Court. When he comes to the earthly realm with his family for his first assignment as Gaia's sentinel, he isn't prepared for what awaits him.

Shelby Mercy, high school junior and popular member of Shelbyville, Kentucky's "in crowd" has everything she ever wanted in life, including the affections of Marshall Townes, Shelby High's beloved football star. But she doesn't have the kind of adventure she reads about in her romance novels. When she literally runs into Dade at his mother's new shop on the Square, she can't get him out of her mind. But Dade isn't interested in getting involved with human girls. He avoids her at all cost, but something about her is hard to resist. The harder he fights it, the farther he falls.

Dragon Wings is a story of everlasting love, passion, fire and fury. Fairy tale meets modern romance in this exciting, thought-provoking story. As battle lines are drawn, darkness and light fight for control. And only one warrior was born to walk both light and dark - the Amethyst Dragon. But who can Dade really trust? The fairies who cannot lie, yet tell creative truths, or the mortals he has always been so suspicious of? Will he save the girl he loves and protect the two realms from the threat posed by the evil Winter Dragon?

The Amethyst Dragon series will take readers on a walk back in time, while still being firmly rooted in present day. In Dade's world, chivalry is not dead, and Avalon still exists on a plane that holds fast to simple truths. Fairy magic is real, Morgan le Fay is real, and with the help of Dade, the Amethyst Dragon, Camelot could rise again. Enjoy the stories of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table? This series is for you! So join us as the tale unfolds, and enter a world that few have glimpsed. Welcome to Avalon, the world of the elusive Dragon Fae. Slip through the gates, and fall in love with the Amethyst Dragon, his best friend Leo, the Sunrise Dragon, and Dade's aunt Tryamon, Keeper of the Forest. There's plenty of room, so bring your silver bough for the Ferryman. And remember, once you're there, you may never want to leave. But remember, with dragons, you can get burned...

Do you have a mythical being or creature that mesmerizes you? Captures your interest and consumes your mind? Well, I do, and it happens to be dragons. So, when I saw the cover of Dragon Wings, needless to say I was drawn in and intrigued to what this book was going to offer. First, hats off to the cover. Breath-taking is only one way in which to describe the beauty seen before you. But, there is so much more to this book than just the amazing cover. The pages inside, draw you in from the very beginning, weaving their words in to your soul and tying them up with the strings around your heart, so that when the end comes, you know that Dragon Wings will forever be a part of your being. I fell in love with this book, this world that D.C. has created for us, and I truly ache writing this because I have made it to the end and know I have to leave this world for a short while, waiting for the next installment.
So, why do I love Dragon Wings so much, you ask? Well, as I noted before, I am captivated by dragons. They are such majestic beings that words can't even truly describe their beauty yet all the while holding such a reverie of strength and will. And as I entered this world created by D. C., I find none other than my hero Dade, a Dragon Fae, center stage shining for all to see. A beautiful amethyst dragon taking his journey through life to find his destiny. And what is his destiny? Does it happen to be a young lady named Shelby? Shelby, who is a teenager that has so much growth to go through, yet through adversity shines, and through all the struggles she creeps in to you heart and you find yourself rooting for her success. But is it all peachy in this world? Of course not! And this leads me to how I am feeling right now as I write this. My heart is aching...I am physically hurting from the struggles that took place in Dragon Wings. The cliffhanger at the end is killing me because I am reeling from where it left us...What is going to happen next??? I am dying right now to know....
But, don't let me fool you in to thinking that this book is only about these two fabulous people...oh no, there are some fascinating characters in Dragon Wings. I am extraordinarily impressed with the development of these people and how crucial they are to the lives of our main characters. Getting to know the Blue family such as Tryamon, Raedmond, and of course Dade's mom, Vendigo added so much to building of who our hero is. And then Shelby's family and friends, such as The Mercy's, Molly, and of course the guy that you think you may not like, but in turn find yourself loving is, Marshall, allow us insight in to the life of our heroine. These characters create dynamics interactions within Dragon Wings that when all of their lives are put together....EXPLOSIVE!!
Now alas, Dragon Wings is a wonderful tale mixed with ancient folklore, faery legends, and of course my Dragon Fae. D.C. has written this story with such eloquence that once you enter this world; you will never want to leave. I have fallen in love with this book and I know that it will always be a part of me through the ages. With pulse-racing action, romance, faeries, twisted plots, suspense, and of course my mesmerizing mythical creatures, dragons; Dragon Wings is a book that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you go and read NOW!!

OMG what a roller-coaster ride!!!!! The main reason it took me so long to finish was I didn't want it to end but like all rides they have to end at some point!
The characters in this book are so real, and the school that's how high school truly is wither you want to believe it or not!!! There were so many times I wanted to jump in the book and either knock some sense into characters or just knock em out.
I really liked the quotes from Shakespeare, they fit really well with what was going on!
This book had me going from excited to happy to sad and shocked. The end had the biggest twist that left my mouth hanging open.......
So if you haven't figured it out already I REALLY enjoyed this book and know you all will too!!!!!!

I am truly a hard and fast fan of the Fae. Many statues and books of fiction, myth and legend adorn my home. Multiple gardens have been planted in their honor; to temp and draw them in. They are elusive and mischievous. And forever near and dear my heart. Dragon Wings is a tale spun of not only my beloved Tuatha de Danaan and Tir Nog Nag, but of Shakespearean verses, the Ferryman, King Arthur and Morgan La Fay and Avalon. On the whole my favorite fantasies and legends rolled into one. It is beyond magickal. It is utopia...my Avalon. A virtual journey through time, space and other worlds thought by most as unimaginable and outrageous.
Grace is a most fitting pen name, as the author is a graceful sorceress in her word-spell weaving. I am certain she is of Fae descent herself. She simply must be. She knows the world so well and yet she makes it all her own. D.C. captures the essence of these fairy tales and throws in her own twisted and surprising turns to create a fantasy so consuming and entrancing you find yourself unable and unwilling to leave it...even for small moments. It's beautiful in it's descriptives, elegant in verse and the romance...ah, utterly breathtaking and heartbreaking. So heartbreaking.
As in any fairy tale, there are trials and tribulations, love and loss, joy and sorrow. And what would a fairy tale be without magick and battles fought to protect and preserve the greater good, but also battles within; over family, love and friendship.
As always is in this case, the characters are challenged by their desires, what is wrong and right and what fate has planned for them. But nothing is set in stone. Loyalties can be broken, heroes can fall and secrets, lies and deceit are hidden around every corner. And where magick is abundant, one can never be too certain that all is as it seems.
Before this review (?) turns in to a story of it's own, I'll attempt to wrap it up by saying, I was completely lost in this world. It is legend meets legend in the making at it's best.
Shelby is a sweet, good natured girl. And that never really changes, no matter what is thrown at her...and it's quite a lot. Not only in the faery realm but also in her very cliquey high school-teenage angsty-small town life. Despite what she endures, she grows and shines inside and out. Not to say that she is perfect. She most certainly is not. She's a teenage girl for heaven's sake. Young, naive and unworldly.
Dade is out of this world...literally. Gorgeous, chivalrous and self assured. A force to behold and reckoned with. I loved him instantly. His being a Dragon Fae is only icing on the cake. Yum, yum!
Of course the plot revolves around these two, but this is another story where the families are very much part of the tale. I love this. It makes for a much more realistic feel. And Shelby and Dade's families are both warm, wonderful and loving. Nothing to be taken for granted. Histories play a big part of anyone's character. Whether they are aware of it or not. It plays a huge role here. Though much is believed to be myth.
Many of the side characters have rather big roles as well. And all touched me in their own way. The Fae especially. But I loved Marshall. He's truly a good guy. A rarity for a high school jock. And I hope we continue to see more of him as series progresses.
So much for wrapping it up, huh? What can I say, I loved being part of this world. I never want to leave it.
Of course D.C. leaves us hanging by a thread with her inevitable cliffhanger. She reels us in, begs us to fall in love and proceeds to rip out our hearts, but throws us just enough hope to root for our hero and heroine. And to dream. Always dream. To be continued...

10*s. First off, I was given the privilege of reading and reviewing this awesome book for FREE in return giving and honest review!! Honestly, this is a very refreshing story of love, loss, heartbreak, death, mythology and paranormal creatures. I love reading stories with a mythology lesson in it and this story does cover alot but it is very interesting and full of fun, excitement, adventure, romance, action and suspence that just kept my heart thumping. It's a heart crushing story of Dademond & Shelby connected as one for all eternity, that come down with some unpredictable news and a very shocking, tear my heart out and stomp on it ending that let me hating the way it ended, but I know there is more to come from Pixie Dust, so I will wait patiently to see the next turn of events!! Shame on you, DC Grace for leaving me hanging!! It was a fun and very fast paced read and I feel like I could re-read it again and still be shocked and love it all the more!! Thank you DC for the chance to read the rocking story with a little mythology lesson to it!!

This is in my opinion a MUST read story with a very evil twist that you will NOT see coming and leaving you hanging on for more!! If you have NOT yet purchased your copy, what are you waiting for?!

How amazing was this book! Just finished it and am on a complete high from reading it.
With their world Avalon in danger members of the fairy royal family come to the human realm to find The Winter Dragon who threatens them all. What the regent prince Dade didn't expect to find was his soul mate Shelby, a regular American teenage girl. Together they discover themselves and each other.

Brilliantly written and ended on an amazing cliffhanger ready for the next book (Pixie Dust)which I will definitely be getting.

Very minor editing errors but didn't distract from the story.
It's kind of a "twilight" love story but it has so much more depth and the characters are well developed.
Shelby is the typical teenage girl except unlike most books she's a popular girl that doesn't want to follow the crowd.
Dade's chivalrous and true to his word with everything he says and does. The hero every girl wants.

Best new fantasy series that has come along recently, i'm hooked.
Were there enough hours in the day I would have read it in one.

I became a fan of D.C. Grace’s through her first series, The Guardians and when she told me she was working up a new series about Dragon Fae, I was ready to read it. Now, before I continue I must say, I have become great friends with the author and reading this novel was so much different than anything. She sent me this book chapter to chapter and we talked a lot throughout her writing. It was an amazing experience and I’m thankful she trusted me enough & could rely on me that much as a friend to give me this opportunity. But what you must know, just because she is my friend does NOT mean I’m biased. Just ask her – when I didn’t like something or didn’t think it fit right, I let her know. But the story is just beautiful, the world is breath-taking and the characters grab your heart and they never let go.

I’ve always had a fascination with dragons, as most people do; and Fae (Fairies), well – I’ve always had a thing for them, as well. So when D.C. combines both worlds – it’s like a party in your hands.

Dademond, known as Dade, Blue-Therror is probably one of the most romantic characters I’ve read. Sometimes, so romantic it’s sickening. (Mainly because us women want a guy like him to really exist lol) His eyes, as I imagine, as so mesmerizing. They’re amethyst, just like the color of his skin when he’s in dragon form. Could you imagine looking into those beautiful purple eyes every day? *swoon* Lucky Shelby Mercy – who we meet her as a normal, popular every day sixteen year old girl.

I really like Shelby. She’s very smart, has an amazing family, has a backbone and isn’t afraid to stand up for herself. She, about halfway through the story, struggles in the ‘popular’ crowd and I’d imagine most girls would cave to the pressure, but she doesn’t. She fights for what she wants and what she feels is right. And kudos to her; I admire her greatly. Not to mention she’s a perfect fit for Dade.

Both main characters have an amazing family supporting them, though both from two different worlds. But it’s fascinating and fun when both worlds collide, in more ways than one. Not to mention we also have Shelby’s best friend (who is also interested in her romantically), Marshall Townes and Caelio, known as Leo, Dade’s best friend (who is also the sunrise dragon, so you can imagine how beautiful he is in dragon form) who I absolutely love and will surprise you as the story progresses. Some good surprises, some not so much.

The end is going to rip your heart to pieces, just a warning. Authors enjoy making us cry and making us angry. DC does an amazing job at both things. The further you get in this book, make sure you have tissues near by for sudden water works. You’ll thank me later that I warned you to have them within reaching distance.

There is as much drama and action as there is romance, and that’s saying a lot as there is a lot of romance in this novel. Enough to make you swoon over and over again. So if you’re looking for a lot of love, action and drama – this is your new read.

This is the first New Adult book I’ve read and it’s fantastic. As Young Adult novels are too, well, reserved. As I understand, since it’s geared towards a younger crowd but NA feeds us older YA fans. It’s not extremely descriptive or indecent as adult novels but they go above YA in certain scenes. It’s not recommended for the younger YA readers, but if you’re older, like me, you’ll appreciate this type of writing.

FUN FACT: If you’re a fan of the adult series, Black Dagger Brotherhood, you may recognize Dade’s last name “Therror” and may be asking yourself, “Did DC get the idea from JR Ward?” The answer is yes.

Hi y'all Anne here with my review of Dragon Wings and wow what a book. Every girl dreams of growing up and marrying her prince right out of a fairy tale, but what if you get to have the Fae prince right out of Avalon? Everybody always asks me what my favorite reads are and I often have no trouble in pointing out my favorites in certain genres or with certain paranormal creatures and now I am happy to add Dragon Wings to that list. A great read for Fae lovers as well as fairytale followers, Dragon Wings combines ancient tales of Fae with exciting tales of renaissance knights and kingdoms. D.C. Grace has divulged an amazing tale combining all the best aspects of our favorite stories. From chapter one the story takes you on a ride you'll have reeling through your head for weeks to follow after finishing and send you after the author begging for the next book.
The Characters in Dragon Wings are not only realistic but they are companionable to anyone reading. The Clique is all to real in the high school setting, the girls are varied and different but each falling in line behind the leader. Brash, bossy, and bitchy Cotsy runs the show in Shelbyville and won't have change in her master plan. She doesn't just rule the school she will ruin your life if you cross her. Shelby and Diane have been under Cotsy so long that they now question their own choices. Not happy with her life Shelby fights back but only after the new stranger arrives in town and blows Cotsy and her say so out of the water. Shelby is young and beautiful and always felt that her life was just to fit in and never stand out. She seems happy to just follow the flow and live her life out in the picture painted for her. With flowing red ringlets and eyes as green as emeralds she is clearly meant for more, she just had to wait for the right one to come along and show her the potential she was born with. Enter Dade, well who could say no to the Fae Prince, grandson to Queen Mab herself he is a force to be reckoned with. Sent to the human realm he is on a mission for Gaia but all will cease to matter when he literally bumps into Shelby in his mothers shop. Spilling a box of candles is the least of his problems when he sees her and the touch shared ignites a fire that will not be put out. Dade now distracted and consumed has more than one problem to face. With a mission of utmost importance and fate twisting its tendrils into his plan he must make choices that will forever change lives and the future of two worlds.
D.C. Grace has literally captured me in this book!!! I cried, gasped, and fell in love as I flew through the pages of Dragon Wings. I never wanted for anything to happen cause just as one hill came to a valley you will find yourself ripped around another dangerous corner and climbing another hill to a new twist. Each supporting character is beautifully written in the story giving strength when needed, emotion when sought and standing side by side with Dade and Shelby as they fight for their lives against huge and problematic foes. This story has such original aspects that I found myself just waiting for the next new twist or plot. You've never read a love story like this one, full of passion and longing but laced with betrayal and jealousy.
I highly recommend everyone read this book and take the journey with characters, plot, and storyline you will never forget. I still find myself lost in thought over this book. D.C. Grace I wish I could give more than 5 stars but it's all they give me, so 5 out of 5 stars for Dragon Wings, and after the cliff hanger ending I was left with im anxious for book 2 and the next great adventure for my newest favorite read.

Dragon Wings by D.C. Grace is definitely a book I'll be sharing with fellow book friends.

I loved, Loved, LOVED Dragon Wings! The story was absolutely magical! Fey and dragon myth is blended with Arthurian legend to create this wonderfully vivid and memorable tale of two young soulmates.

This is one of the few dragon books I have ever read, and I was not disappointed! I knew after the first few sentences that I would love this book. The writing style Mrs. Grace uses is perfect for the story. A mix of modern and classic that suits both sides of the story. The descriptions of Avalon, of the fights, and of the romance are breathtaking.

Dragon Wings is also filled with a cast of well developed characters. I really enjoyed all the different points of view. I felt that it made the story even more interesting, knowing what was going on in everyone's head. Dade, our beloved hero, was definitely my favorite to read. He is so charming and truely loves his Shelby.I found myself falling for Dade as Shelby does and experiencing the emotions she felt. Shelby is a red-headed spit fire. She changes throughout the novel and grows as a person. All of the minor characters, the likable ones- Tryamon, Marshall and Leo- were great to read as well. Mrs. Grace does a fantastic job with the evil characters as well- the winter dragon and Costy- the evil high school biotch most of us are familiar with.

The romance is one of the best things about the story. It is sweet, but unbelievably powerful!

The segregation in the story- between the different types of fey and dragon fey, and among the high school students adds another layer into the story, that will help people relate to the story in some way.

Another great thing about the story is all of the great quotes and pieces of literature sprinkled within the novel. I felt that they were very enlightening and they went along great with the story.

The last fifty pages of the book is jam packed with action and rollercoaster emotions that will have you frantically flipping the pages to find out what happens next. The story itself is incredibly unique and hard to put down. I found myself reading until I was exhausted, but still wanting to continue.

I will be eagerly awaiting the release of book two, Pixie Dust! I am already ready to be back with all my favorite characters and find out what happens next!

If you are looking for a tale that is special among others, filled with action, true love, and heart melting romance, pick Dragon Wings up! You can thank me later! ;)

**Thank you to the author, DC Grace, for providing the review copy! I am forever in your debt! Thank you for writing such a wonderful story and sharing it with us!**

Absolutely loved this book! So very glad that I had Pixie Dust to jump right into because the ending was just so intense.

I really like how D.C. intertwines well known fairy tales into the story - bringing to life legends that we've all heard about our entire lives. I also enjoy how Shakespeare is a big part of the story, giving Dade some very romantic lines.

The characters are well developed, you cannot help but fall in love with Shelby and Dade, and some of their experiences might bring back a few memories of High School for you - remember the cheerleader that everyone loved and the jock that all the girls dreamed about? Yeah, they are there too.

One of my favorite things about how this book is written is that characters talk to you about what is going on from their point of view, but we do not go back-and-forth on the same story. You get insight into each character as they talk about what is happening and what is going on in their minds, but you do not do a replay of the same scene multiple times. This really works for me.

I highly recommend this book but be sure to have book 2 waiting because you will definitely want to jump right into it!

Dragon Wings takes from Avalon and the court of Queen Mab to the rural town of Shelbyville, Ky. We first meet Shelby Mercy and her clickers on just another normal day of school. A day where they are planning on dates to the Spring Formal and Friday nights at the skating rink. At first, Shelby and her friends seem to be vapid and superficial. They perpetuate the social differences in the school in every possible way. When they go shopping after school they go into a new shop that has opened and this is when Shelby literally runs into Dade. Dade, the shop owner’s son and Crown Prince to the Seelie Court, is immediately drawn to Shelby. Though he is drawn to her he fights his draw to her because she is a mortal.

Dade soon enrolls in High School and finds himself in a whole different world than that of the Fae. The emotions and hurtful deeds that mortals do pain him. Dade and Shelby continue to have run in’s though Dade tries to discourage any affections on Shelby’s part, Dade is fighting a losing battle with himself. When finally Shelby is put into a dangerous position he admits his feelings to her and they begin their own path of discovery. One that involves love, pain, adventure and sorrow. Through it all Dade and Shelby’s love grows and they soon become one in the eyes of Faerie. Dade and Shelby don’t get their happily ever after like they want. They are thrust into danger and their lives are threatened. Dade soon realizes he was born to protect Shelby and Shelby learns that she was born to be very important in the Fae realm. But, with the danger and adventure can their two hearts withstand the challenges that are thrust upon them.

D.C Grace’s writing and storytelling makes for an epic ride. Dragon Wings flies you through every possible emotion that there is. Not to mention that our characters are teenagers and must deal with plan old teenage angst and peer pressure. Though this is Dade and Shelby’s love story it is so well supported with the supporting characters especially those closest to Dade. I loved Tryamon and Leo, but without giving things away I learned to hate Leo too. I also really enjoyed Marshall’s development from heartbroken to something important to Tryamon. I am hoping for more of their relationship in Pixie Dust. I have just begun that and so far am enthralled yet again. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good “Faerie” Tale. For those familiar with the Arthurian legends you will see many a familiar face. Overall, this is a great series that is both Young Adult and New Adult. D.C Grace is a very talented writer and know I will continue to read her stories.

Oh, where do I begin!

Best Part of the Book: Dade! Yep that says it all! It took me a a few chapters to figure out was going on because it was very fast paced. However, once it all started to come together it was AWESOME! I love how DC Grace writes. Each chapter is the characters point of view. I love that because you can see what is going on from all levels. This is an action packed book! Dragons, fae, hot guys and (did I say) HOT GUYS! I love Shelby! At first she tried to fight the attraction to Dade but .. well, you know!! However, DC Grace leaves you guessing for more! I was surprised that was a little more "adult" than I originally thought. No, not THAT Adult but DC Grace is very respectful but its AWESOME!! DC Grace does an amazing job twisting everything together and you don't feel so lost in these two different worlds!

Not so great about the book: I never compare authors. I try to make each about them. I am making an exception this time. Rachel Higginson, who is the author of the Star Crossed series, is the only author to make me THROW (yes, throw) my Kindle....until DC Grace! At the end of this book I was yelling and (almost) tossed my kindle across the room! The ending of this book KILLED me!!!

Now unto Book 2: Pixie Dust

Dragon Wings is a story of everlasting love, passion, fire and fury. Fairy tale meets modern romance in this exciting, thought-provoking story. As battle lines are drawn, darkness and light fight for control. And only one warrior was born to walk both light and dark - the Amethyst Dragon. But who can Dade really trust? The fairies who cannot lie, yet tell creative truths, or the mortals he has always been so suspicious of? Will he save the girl he loves and protect the two realms from the threat posed by the evil Winter Dragon?

I haven't had the pleasure of reading too many dragon type books and I have never read one that had dragon and fae included. I was a little sceptical when I was first reading this only because you skip back and forth between several characters' points of view. I am glad I stuck with it though! Very nice action/adventure/romance book. The only thing that totally upset me was that it ended on such a cliffhanger and I don't have the next book to find out what happens next! D.C. Grace is a new author for me and I look forward to reading other books that she has to offer in the future.

There is as much drama and action as there is romance, and that’s saying a lot as there is a lot of romance in this novel. Enough to make you swoon over and over again. So if you’re looking for a lot of love, action and drama – this is your new read.

I cannot leave much of a review because I have not read it, but I would love to read this book! I have heard nothing but good things from all the blogs I follow so I am confident this will be a great book.
