This is a gorgeous pop up book full of interesting facts! Looking forward to more pop up cities in the series. Great for children and adults who love London.
I think this book is a 10/10. This is a non-fiction book that is about London as a whole. It is a great way to see all of London in the palm of your hands! Throughout the book are random facts about London's famous landmarks. It's the best way to learn about London and its people. It also gives information about historical figures of London. The book is interactive and the pop-up buildings and people make it seem real. Even though the book is about 10 pages long, you have to look closely on each page or you might miss an interesting fact or story without knowing. This is for people who want to learn about London without reading long boring articles on the Internet. I recommend it to people of ages 6 and up. It's a nice book to have in your home library to show to family and friends.
Pop-Up books have always been a favorite of mine and this one Is done beautifully. Lots of information about London, my favorite city, naming landmarks, museums, areas of London such as The Wesr End, and the old town of London with its mayor. Buckingham Palace is there with Kate and Wills on the balcony after their wedding.Westminster Abbey is also included naming areas such as The Poet's Corner. This book has some cute additions with each double page naming a ghost who appears in one of the buildings present on those two pages. With the book flat on a surface, buildings pop up so the reader can get a good look, but one can interact with this book as things are found on the back or inside the buildings or landmarks as well as lifting flaps for additional information. This book shows the development of the East End of London for the 2012 Summer Olympics. Extremely well done!!
The book is impressively engineered. Both adults and children will be amazed when those well-known landmarks of London popping up. The verses introducing each section of the Thames are well-written. Don't forget to turn the book around to check out the inside of the buildings. Interesting and worth every penny!
