Some Day Somebody is a romance about a woman who leaves her controlling husband and finds a new love. She's determined not to make the same mistakes again and insists on being independent, not leaning on a man, even when a crazy stalker begins to threaten her safety and her new man wants to protect her.
Carrie is a feisty southern lady and Sam is the perfect hero for her. He'll step back when she insists on doing things for herself, but his protective nature is always there, making sure she is safe.
My favorite lines in the book are between Carrie and Elaine.
"I thought for sure you'd give me the old 'find yourself first speech."
"Are you lost?"
"No, I don't think so."
Elaine's laughter echoed through the cozy kitchen. "Well I should think you'd know if you were."
Threaded throughout the book is the subtle theme of women thinking for themselves. I liked that aspect of the story.
This was the first story I've read with a cajun flavor and I enjoyed that. The flavor wasn't so heavy that I didn't understand it and just enough to give me a taste.

This is a well-written book that is primarily a romance book but it has parts of suspense as well. I loved the emotions that came through and most of them are easily recognisable and relate-able! One of the things that I enjoyed so much about this book is the fact that our 'heroes' are completely "normal" people. Sam was described as being good looking and well built but it was also said that his hair was thinning on the top. This may sound like a small thing but after reading book after book where the main characters are physically perfect (although usually emotionally challenged!), it made a lovely change to read about characters that I can completely relate to.
The suspense part of the story was also well written, although the identity of the stalker came as no surprise, it was still written in a way that made you want to go and check your own doors or look over your shoulder. Loved the Cajun flavour that rolls through this book. If I had to single out one thing about this book, it would be the Epilogue. I had to go back and re-read the first part as it wasn't completely clear that we had skipped forward a couple of years! Once I realised that though, I was quite happy with how it panned out. Will be on the lookout for the others by this author.

She has recently completed her education and found a decent job. She has just begun to rediscover her true self and the last thing she is looking for is romance. When she meets Sam Langley, a recently divorced co-worker, her life becomes very confusing. Carrie is fearful of her growing feelings for Sam and her desire to do right by her kids only makes things more difficult. Now, she has started receiving mysterious phone calls and the caller seems to becoming more threatening with each call. Can Carrie allow herself to love again and will the authorities uncover the person behind the threats before it's too late?
Lori Leger has a gift for storytelling and Some Day Somebody is a well written and well organized suspense that readers will find difficult to put down.
I recommend picking up a copy.

This book was sooooo good! I was lucky to get it as a free read on Amazon and I'm so glad I did. I will definitely be reading her next book. It was so refreshing to read a fun, suspenseful, and romantic book about someone who is not 22-24 and perfectly perfect. The characters are my age and they are slightly flawed, but they get under your skin. This book was long, but I can't think of a time when it felt drawn out. Everything that happened in this story needed to happen. I really liked it and am pleasantly surprised that one of my Kindle free reads turned out to be one that I would have happily payed for! I would definitely recommend this to others. Very good!

I found myself, more than once, wanting to just give up with this one. I don't exactly know what it was about it that I didn't click with, but there was definitely something.
I guessed pretty early on who the stalker was, and pretty much just kept reading to see is I was right( by the way, I was!)
It moved slowly, as in slooooooooooooooowly, which was a big turn off, to I eventually just skipped parts.
I have the next 2 books in this series, I grabbed them ages ago when I saw them as being freebies, but I'm not sure if I'll ever get around to reading them...we'll just have to see!
I think it's safe to say, this one was not for me.

This was the second time reading the book, and the story endeared me once again to the down-to-earth characters and their emotional turmoil.
I found myself feeling their same feelings at times and at one point just wanted to reach into the book and hug them!
The storyline dragged a little about halfway through the book, but it picks up its pace again after a couple of chapters.
A great read and a good epilogue to round off the story.

Comedy, suspense and romance - how can you go wrong? This was an enjoyable read that kept me guessing, and even misled me (sorry to admit I followed the all too predictable) The characters were likeable, at least the ones you were supposed to like. The villians were not overdone. I may look for the rest of the series, but I am nit sure/where it will go as I felt this storylie was all wrapped up.

A mix of romance and suspense, this book is entertaining. With a taste of Cajun country mixed with lovable characters that feel real enough to invite to dinner, this is a read that keeps you turning pages until the characters get their HEA in the safety of each other.
Can't wait to read the next one.

Amazing journey with Carrie and Sam. This book opens up Lori's cajun influenced world with humor, awesome characters and a unique down home feel.
Check out this and her other La Fleur De Love books. Romance, suspense and emotion filled plots abound.

I've read this series all out of order because I've just picked them up when they've been free at Amazon. That hasn't stopped me from enjoying each of them, and I'll be buying the latest in the series. The romances are sweet, and the Cajun elements and warm extended families draw me in too.

A great story! The story dragged a bit during the holidays and it was pretty long for a story where the majority of action took place over a two week period, but well written and the romance between Sam & Carrie was wonderful.

This story is well-written, realistic, and is entertaining with suspense, drama, humor, and definitely romance. The characters are so realistic, down-to-earth, and interesting. I felt like I wanted to actually know them.

This was a free book via Book Bub. I was very pleased with the storyline and it held my interest the entire time. Well worth the read.

I have never read this author before and was blown away by the excitement of the storyline. The characters are rich and well thought out. As a court reporter of 40 years, the misspellings grated on my nerves. The typical reader can overlook them, I'm sure. All in all, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough.

This was pretty good, a slow romance. Strictly PG, some innuendoes that never are materialized. At the most you have holding off hands, kissing on the cheek some lip kissing that is passionate. But if your looking for juicy story, well this is not it.. However, it was well written and the storyline kept you interested. You have two recently divorced gun shy people. When Sam first meets Carrie on her first day of work he is interested but she doesn't really think much of him. Then she does and she starts thinking of him a lot but then she keeps flirting with him and pushing him away at the same time. That was a problem with me, from the beginning till the end Sam was all in, but Carrie conducted the relationship with one hand up restraining him the whole story. That was frustrating to me, I nerve felt her really let him in. Even with all that going on you still find yourself pulling for Sam hoping it would all come together with Carrie. She was a tough nut to crack. Extenuating circumstances keep them from ever going very far with the relationship. I guess I didn't like how the epilogue wrapped up everything and I mean everything. Just cut and dried and spanning years with memories and flashbacks. I would have liked one lousy chapter of Sam and Carrie , just them in love without all the drama going on. But that's not how it is and that's what made this story work with all the emotions that are going on when someone is going through a divorce or how the kids are coping with it.

I started reading this as part of the Passion & Danger (Benefiting the Thymic and Breast Cancer Research Foundations) box set then I real newly divorced mother of teenagers, Carrie was afraid to start over. Afraid of hurting her children or losing their respect but her heart was won over the Sam. Just as she felt that life could work out a stalker entered her world and turned it upside down again.
This book was not only a ride into the dark mind of the stalker but a sweet look into what it means to start over and take a chance.
It was worth the re-reading!

Finally, a touching story without 'in your face' sexual acrobatics! This story approaches two who have gone through the pain and difficulties of divorce and still have teens at home. When an attraction develops it has to run the gambit of a serial killer thrown into the mix and children resistant to change.

I liked it, good romance about finding love after a broken marriage. The stalker added some nice drama and excitement. The only thing that i didn't love is that it seemed to move kind of slow for me. But it was still good and i have the rest of the series so apparently i liked it:)
