It's about bones. They sneak attack on the village and were hiding in trees. It's about Jay and they find a bullet that shot through the house. Their friend was really a bad guy too.

read this one with my son. He loved it. I felt it was choppy and weird. Maybe I just needed to know the lego ninja background first.

Another fabulous read for fans of the hit lego series, Ninjago. We loved getting to learn more about Jay and enjoyed reading about some his and the team's adventures. Like the other three books in this series, the story starts off with an entry about his Ninja from Sensei Wu's journal and than leads right into the first of the two stories featured in this book.

The first book is a short read called Dragon's Roar which is taken from one of the episodes that's aired on TV where the young ninja's meet their dragons. The bulk of this book is the chapter book featuring the story The Truth Seeker, which takes fans on a brand new adventure with Jay, Zane, Cole and Kai. Jay is one of our favorite ninja's, because he always provides the right amount of humor in any situation, no matter how dangerous it is.

Though we fell in love the TV series before the books were out, my son has fallen in love with the books just as much as he loves the series. He carries these around with him all the time. As a parent it's so rewarding watching my kids get lost in a good book. I HIGHLY recommend picking up the books. If you have a young fan of this series I strongly recommend looking into picking up each of the books in the series. This series of books is perfect for 1st and 2nd grade reading levels.

When reading a kids' book about ninja (even ninja of the Lego variety), one expects there to be a lot of action and intrigue. This one focuses more on intrigue, as the plot centers on a mystery rather than on combat. I wanted to like the mystery element, and the emphasis on problem-solving and critical thinking, but it could have been handled better. The characters were not terribly compelling, the stakes weren't high enough, the clues were a little impenetrable given the target audience, and the gimmicks were a little too gimmicky. I would have liked to see more humor as well, as Jay is typically quite the jokester. My son liked it though, and it held his attention throughout. Also on a positive note, there was a bit of moral ambiguity which was refreshing from a franchise that tends to be more good-vs.-evil.

I read this book with my two boys. Jay and Kai arrive in a town to purchase supplies. They fight with the vendor and that night his store is attacked and he is killed. Jay and Kai are accused of killing him because the poles were knocked down by a kick from a ninja. It was really cute and the boys love the ninjas.

Kinda boring compared to the others I've read so far, and it feels like Jay doesn't get as much character development either.
