Kendall Carver knows one thing for sure – security doesn’t last. Injured and on the run, a sinfully handsome stranger saves her life.
Cajun werewolf Burke Devereux learned his lesson 200 years ago. No humans, ever. No looking, no touching, no kissing and certainly no making love. Eager to escape his Pack’s matchmaking attempts he heads for his cabin. But nothing could have prepared him for the raging blizzard or the beautiful woman begging for his help.
Burke’s always prided himself on his self control but as things get cozy, desire sparks and old secrets are brought to light. He must decide how far he will go to protect her.

WOW this book was really good! And a lot more tame than I thought it was going to be, which leads me to my first point...
When I was asked to review this book I was told that it was an Erotica novel. I know for some of you the word erotica is a turn off. In fact my fellow bloggin buddie passed on reviewing this simply because she doesn't like Erotica. She even pouted a little because it was about werewolfs and said "Why can't it be a Paranormal Romance? Then I would read it!" After reviewing this I would like to set the record straight...
This is, in my opinion, a Paranormal Romance novel. NOT and Paranormal Erotica. So for all you people out there leery of erotica you are safe! Not only are you safe, but you should read this book if you are into a good wolfy story.
While there are some hotter scenes towards the end of this novella I would in no way call them erotica...however they are HOT! Overall this story was a perfect balance of action, drama, sweet moments, and YES even a few hot scenes done in a tasteful manner. I loved Burke and Kendall. Both as a couple and just as characters in general. I was immediately sucked into the story and found myself finishing it in one sitting!
I will definitely be reading the other books in this series:)
I read this as a stand alone (even though it's book 5) and loved it! I'm now planning to start from the beginning of the series and reread it all, even though I know 1 key aspect of the 'ending'. Highly recommend 😊
So this is the last of the Cajun werewolf series :( And let me tell you I loved it!! It follows Burke, the last of the Deveraux pack to find a mate. The story starts out with Burke escaping the "mate hunt" his pack seems to be on, but runs into a very interesting and injured woman, Kendall Carver. Because he's a gentleman, Burke of course helps her out (even though he has a rule about humans) but Kendall has some secrets of her own. Ms Blake found a great way to bring all the Deverauxes back at the end to provide some good closer to the series & give fans an ending we can all enjoy. This is not one of the more racey books in the series like Bitten or Seduced, but it still leaves you steamy!! Great way to end the series!! Thanks Selena!!
This book deals with letting go of the past. Not judging a book by its cover and letting love in. This was Burke and Kendall's story. She's running from a horrible situation and he's never let what one woman did to him centuries ago leave his heart. Plus we finally got an answer about the two human mates and the question of immortality. A must read in this great series.
Once again I've started a book at the end of the series instead of the beginning. I really need to do better with that aspect, although it does tend to make me want to go back to the beginning.
Burke is headed to his cabin in New Hampshire, some skiing would help him settle a bit. The strain from everyone in his family pushing him to mate is overwhelming. He didn't expect to be traveling in a blizzard or for a little red car to go zooming around him. Even with four wheel drive it was hard navigating the road.
Now anyone who's ever driven in a snow storm knows what happens to speeding little cars and this one ends up like expected, in a snow drift. Which of course almost causes Burke to lose control of his vehicle as well, but though he struggles, manages to be okay.
He knows he has to check the vehicle and the driver when he has no cell signal.
Once back to his cabin with her, he checks her for injuries and finds she's been shot. Now he's got to remove a bullet to prevent this human from getting an infection or worse.
When Kendall wakes, she knows she's warm but isn't sure she's safe. Her magic is locked so she has none of the senses she's used to using. She looks and smells human, although she isn't.
Burke, finds himself attracted to Kendall but he's sworn off humans. The pain of that one relationship so many years ago won't allow him to go that route, ever again.
As she heals and their attraction grows, he comes up with a solution to both their problems. At least he thinks so.
A short perfect bed-time read with just the right amount of heat.
A woman running from the man who "won" her and a man running from his family's matchmaking and his own heartbreak meet and are snowed in together. Can they both solve their problems so that they can be together forever? Read and see. This was a good book. The beginning really drew me in. The middle was full of inner struggles and healing both figuratively and literally. Then we get hit by some major action again at the end. I really liked it but it didn't work that well as a stand alone. I felt like there was a lot I didn't know that wasn't even given a quick explanation in the book. That left me with too many questions to be satisfied enough to give the book higher stars. There is an HEA and it isn't a cliffhanger but a few things happen that need more explanation.
4.5 stars. I suggest reading in order to get the most out of this series. Probably my favourite in the series. Burke runs away to his mountain home to escape the mating phenonium happening with his family/pack. Unbeknown to him, fate and a family member have arranged his future. Though we have a bit of non and miscommunication with these two, I just really enjoyed how these events unfold. Read and reviewed many years ago individually and in the box set 1-5 more recently. But those original reviews are once again missing. Reread this time in the new box set that includes a short story about Elijah and the Christmas story too.
This is a great series I have lived every book is I far!! There's a couple errors the editors missed like some words accidentally reversed but there very few. Great writing story and characters!!!
In the snowy mountains Devereaux almost hits another car.Kendall is passed out and bleeding so he had to bring her with him. On top of that a major storm is heading their way. I did somewhat enjoy the story but there were to many parts that dragged.
Slightly odd but fast romp, some new things you just have to go with, but if you can accept werewolves then slowly disappearing people are no more weird! Good plot and ending
Been a while since I’ve read this author and series and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Liked both characters and burkes extended family. Nice little story but I’d like to have seen more retribution especially to her family. That said an enjoyable read.
I really tried with this one, but at 40% in I just wasn't connecting with the characters. This story feels too intertwined with the previous one to be read as a standalone, but I don't really want to go back and read the others at this point. Overall, not for me.
When one picks up a book entitled "Stranded with a Cajun Werewolf", one is, almost by definition, dropping the bar a bit in terms of quality. But even by the "prizes for participation!" standard, this book is an incoherent mess. The hero: allegedly Cajun (this means he says "cher" very occasionally). The heroine: a boring blank slate who is primarily described as innocent and cherubic. Which...do men typically think of women they want to sleep with in terms of fat naked babies with wings? 'tis a mystery.
There's some plot. You could probably write it based on the title alone. There is a villain, who shows up for one page (on which it is revealed for the first time in the book, I think, that he is a vampire). There are some ridiculous My Cousin Vinny-esque mobster henchmen. There's also some manufactured conflict about how the heroine is a were-coyote, which is apparently trasy and low-class. You know, I saw a coyote at the bus stop last year (they're like rats, okay?) and it was indistinguishable from a smallish wolf or, you know, an underfed husky. Oh, and there's some bonus sex-negative commentary about slutty shifter chicks who are open about their sexual desires instead of having to be coaxed into doing the nasty like good little pure cherubic virgin ladies.
The upside, however, is that given how bad this is, the Cajun-werewolf niche is still wide open. Get on it, ladies!
So this one takes place away from the bayou, unlike the others in the series and Burke heads to somewhere secluded. A cabin in the mountains. Only it's blizzard conditions!
He almost crashes into another car and after skidding to a stop he goes to investigate and sees the young woman passed out in the seat. He decides to help her out and takes her with him to his cabin. Over the days he spends with her she gets under his skin as she tells him the tale about how she ended up where she did. The whole romance was rather slow building and it wasn't all sex, sex, sex.
One thing I did like was that Kendall, having come from somewhere a lot hotter--can't remember what state--had never seen snow.
So the scenes with the snowman building and snowball fight were nice additions to the story.
It was also nice to see the rest of Burke's family at the end.
Stranded with a Cajun Werewolf is book 5 in the "Stormy Weather" series by Selena Blake. Although the beginning would have made more sense if I'd read the other books, for the most part this book can be read out of order. As I have not read the first books in the series, I felt I would have had better insight into Burke's character at the beginning if I'd had more background on him. But, even without that - most of his personality and issues were explained throughout the story, as were Kendall's problems and history. I'm not over-fond of Kendall mainly because I thought that at times she just stood by and let Burke do her fighting for her. If she was strong enough to run, she should have been strong enough to fight back as well. There were a couple of parts of this story that I felt needed more details, but other than that it is a good romance with great characters. I love how Selena doesn't stick with the typical "guy meets girl" formula, but gives her characters realistic flaws and "issues." I think it makes them more likeable and relatable. Great story - and worth reading - now I'm off to find more Selena Blake stories! Definitely worth reading - and if you buy the anthology for only $5.99 through Amazon.com - an excellent bargain for some great steamy were-romances!

Stranded With A Cajun Werewolf was a great read.
A large part of this book has to deal with family dynamics. When I started reading about Burke’s family, it made me wish that I had the kind of family that he had. However, my family was more like Kendall’s, so I can understand where she was coming from. I was never close to either of my parents.
The author did a great job with the plot and I never felt I was missing out on anything, even though I haven’t read much of the series. I felt that it had a great flow. I enjoyed the characters. The way they pick and carry on just makes you laugh.
It was great reading a book about shape-shifters and having them be so close. Loved the way they all look out for each other even though at times it would get on the other’s nerves. That’s how family is.
This is only the second book that I have read in this series and I just want to say that I really enjoyed reading both. I will be having to add the other books to my wish list and reading them. That way I can read them in order and see more into each of the Deveraux’s lives and get more into how they do things. Thank you for writing such a great book. I would recommend this book to everyone.
Stranded with a Cajun Werewolf is the fifth in the series. I think this is my favourite of the series. Burke is escaping to his Cabin in the middle of nowhere when he is part of an accident during a blizzard. Burke is unharmed and finds the woman in the other car is unconscious and bleeding. Without any signal on his phone he decides to take her to the cabin and fix her up.
Burke was headed to his cabin to get away from his interfering family. They have all found their mates and think its about time Burke does too. Though he isn't interested...and then there is Kendal. Burke and Kendal are stranded in the cabin as the Blizzard rages out of control. This again is a great instalment in the series and definitely my favourite book. Burke isn't like the other Deveraux men. He never really felt the need for a mate but something just clicks with Kendal, he really feels the need to love and protect her.
Love and family are at the very heart of each story in the Stormy Weather series. The culmination of the the series is Stranded with a Cajun Werewolf and I would deem it the pinnacle of the series. The story line is filled with intrigue, plot twists and action. The H/h are well layered with believable reactions to the pain in their past as well as their apprehensions about starting a relationship. Each has set up boundaries around their heart to avoid the pain of rejection only to come to the point that their willing to tear them down to have one another. I liked that they each reach a point where they find out that their walls were useless against the other. The battle scene with the bad guy is great but the revelation of who is behind all the mystery running through out the series was perfect. (I had my suspicions.) The sacrificial gift was beautiful. Adult read
The wait is over. Questions will be answered. And one last storm will threaten Deveraux Pack. Kendall Carver knows one thing for sure - security doesn't last. Injured and on the run, a sinfully handsome stranger saves her life. Cajun werewolf Burke Devereux learned his lesson 200 years ago. No humans, ever. No looking, no touching, no kissing and certainly no making love. Eager to escape his Pack's matchmaking attempts he heads for his cabin. But nothing could have prepared him for the raging blizzard or the beautiful woman begging for his help. Burke's always prided himself on his self control but as things get cozy, desire sparks and old secrets are brought to light. He must decide how far he will go to protect her. This was my favorite story. It held suspense, romance and surprises around every corner. The love scenes were hot hot hot. 5 stars.
Stranded with a Cajun Werewolf is the 5th book in the Stormy Weather series but it can be read as a stand alone book. The great thing about this one, if you want to try it out it’s short and sweet. It’s about 100 pages or so, just enough to know if you’d like this series or not.
What I love about these books is the Cajun men. :-) Yes, I love those accents, so damned sexy.
The only problem I had with this one is the internal monologue with the hero and heroine. They both had this. Obviously there will always be internal monologue but my problem is when they argue with themselves. That’s kind of annoying.
Overall though, I thought the book was a good quick read and I’d definitely read more.
I loved this story! I have adored all of the Devereux boys, and Burke's story did not disappoint.
Trying to escape family pressures about finding a mate, Burke heads to his mountain home for a vacation. Instead of finding the solitude he thinks he desires, he finds Kendall Carver who's injured and almost runs him off the road. Kendall, who's trying to escape her own family-related issues, finds safety and shelter with Burke.
With the snow falling outside and their chemistry heating up, this is one sexy read about a very hot Cajun werewolf!
well i find that this whole series have a good idea.... but its like she doesn't commit to it? like for example this book had a conflict... but it wasnt really big enough... when burke fought with the bad guy it was for like two seconds... and yeah right like she could win a simple hand to hand combat with a vampire by her self when she didnt have any powers and he was holding her wrists.... it just was blah. i expected more... im getting tired of these half assed made books... no offense. and p.s. the sex scene was ridiculous...
