Voices of the Civil War is a nice series. The focus is on individuals' reflections on particular conflicts--both civilian and military. Here, we have a chance to hear the voices of those who were involved in one way or another at this mighty struggle. There are some essays that provide context, maps, many photos. If you want a detailed picture of the battle at Gettysburg, this book isn't for you. If you want to understand the human dimension, this adds a good piece to understanding Gettysburg.
