Wolf Devoted

Rate this book
I found a strength I hadn’t known I possessed… now it’ll be tested beyond measure.

After a grueling trip to the healing pools, we returned to another grimalkin attack. The horror and hurt of the assault ignites the awakening wildness inside me. I might not be an alpha — despite what people are calling me — but I’ll protect this pack to my dying breath. My very soul demands it.

Of course, my soul also demands that Cyrus is my mate.

We’ve crashed together, our passion overwhelming us, but duty inevitably pulls him away. That leaves my soul achingly incomplete, despite the loving attention of my fated mates, Bishop and Knox.

But I have no time to figure things out. The assassin who almost killed Bishop is still on the loose, Sterling is haunting my dreams again, and a darkness is growing inside me…

…a darkness that could save us all or destroy me and the men I love.

Wolf Decided is the sixth and final book in the Ensnared by the Pack series, an action-packed paranormal romance featuring possessive wolf shifters and a wounded heroine discovering her strength who doesn’t have to choose.

Such a cute ending!

And they all lived happily ever after! I enjoyed this series so much I'm a little sad to see see it go, especially because I needed more Cyrus! Lol

3 stars again. We see the Pack under attack, random sec with the guys- wtf Cyrus- right after an attack?? No way.

Audrey gets so frickin mad and burns her curse out but Sterling comes back into the picture with this group that is trying to sell weapons (that are not able to shoot straight. Insert eye roll here as I gear up for spoilers…
I just have to say I hope the author has gotten feedback about this already and has made changes for future books.

-This was the 1 quote that made me go HA- in the ENTIRE series. That’s sad, people!

“The thought turned the wine in my mouth sour, and I swallowed it down against the lump forming in my throat. Damn it. I was used to disappointment.
It shouldn’t bother me that Cyrus might desire me, might want to have sex with me, but didn’t want to mate with me. Except my soul was certain he was my mate and it hurt thinking that he was going to reject me.
“Wow,” Bishop said as he leaned close. “That was one hell of a mood swing. Don’t worry, the dinner is almost done.”

Spoilers:
I was sooo mad at the ending. How stupid! The book could have ended at 80% with love and happiness.

But no- follow me here- the evil that was in the land that Sterling called to use for his power ended up back in Audrey (rather than just dissipating into the ether but OK) so she fell under the ‘sleeping’ spell that was holding the gods. NOT doing a good job of it are they?? If his power is being used??

Anyway, Whif tells them that Audrey needs to go to Fairie for a strong healer. So she is going to open a rip, back to Audrey’s homeland IN HOPES that they can find their way to Fairie. So Cyrus volunteers an unfinished mate bind to give the power to open the rift. Oh and there is no guarantee of being able to return. Ever. Cyrus just gives up the Pack.

They all step through and are attacked by VAMPIRES.
After they defeat them, it just so happens that the characters they needed to help save Audrey and return them to their land are right there.

Characters from the authors other books I assume??

So HEA- they save Audrey, have sex for a few days in a nearby resort and then Bob’s Your Uncle, they are returned home.
WTF?
More unbelievable plot moves in the last 20% than the whole series.

This review is for the whole series. I obviously liked it enough to finish it but there were a few things that could have made it so much better.

For one, the whole thing would have been better as a trilogy. There was a huge amount of repetition and just waffle. Half the plot involved the characters traveling from one place to another with no resolution at the end of it, only to have to turn around a week later and do another forced march. Journeys like this are a common plot device but they have to move the plot forward. The original journey turned out to be pointless, and the second journey added nothing to the plot development (her mating Bishop wasn't ever really in doubt, she didn't learn anything new that couldn’thave been done elsewhere).

I found myself skimming whole paragraphs because the characters each just kept repeating the exact same thing to themselves, almost verbatim, over and over.

The cliffhangers at the ends of the books and even the conclusions to chapters were also placed oddly, often jarring or just seemingly random. A cliffhanger needs foreshadowing of some kind, not just a random attack out of nowhere, especially since in this kind of book random attacks happen all the time.

Even more annoying to me is that there were some massive plot holes and missing logic. For example the man who attacked Bishop and FMC. A week after Bishop woke up and thought to himself how the man hadn't smelled like a shifter, Cyrus was still wondering who in his pack had attacked his brother. Why hadn't Bishop told him? Or, hang on, why hadn't anyone drawn the conclusion that the person who attacked Audrey and poisoned Bishop with a poison made by the power of a god, maybe wasn't a local? Could it, in fact, been the guy who wants Audrey dead and has the power of a god?? No, that's just preposterous.

Or the fact that Audrey mated Bishop with his full consent (dream or no dream) but is suddenly worried she'll sneeze and mate some random in the street?

How about how a girl with no advanced education is convinced she can reinvent a telescope with nothing but a vague idea that "lenses make things look bigger". It's such a random thing to seize on. What about a book press? Steam power? Hell, they spent five days hauling a cart in human form when any random shifters off the street could have been harnessed up like huskies and gotten them there in half the time. But no, microscopes are definitely the right call for a pre industrial society.

Anyway that kind of thing is frustrating to me, so that on top of the repetition just got a bit old.

I did like the depiction of trauma and that there were no quick fixes for Audrey or Knox.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Worst of the series. Audrey still suffers from her abusive conditioning even though she now has two loving mates in twin alpha brothers Knox and Bishop. Having saved Bishop from death and fully mated, it’s time for the Alliance meeting at Stonehaven, and Audrey is their secret weapon as her trip through the rift leaves her able to understand the delegate’s various languages without the need of a translator. When she overhears troubling news from a group of attendees it is time for her newfound family and pack to put a stop to it before more pack members are injured or killed.

As the final book in the series we also have the fight against the big bad Stewart and Royce… which seems. Little too easily and quickly fought, but the cost- Audrey’s very life claimed in an eternal slumber- is wayyyyyyy too easily dealt with. Up to now we’ve taken epic journeys for both Knox and Bishop’s sakes that span more than a single book. Audrey’s “rescue” is swiftly wrapped up in a chapter or two…. in just two hours in book time.

What?!?!?

I feel robbed of a satisfactory ending after 6 books- but thank goodness each is a quick read, so the entire series only cost me 2 days.

A great ending!

This series was fantastic! It had fated mates (but not insta-love, exactly), problems to solve, mysteries to figure out, bad guys, adventures, etc. The FMC, Audrey, APPEARED weak and fragile at the very beginning, but she soon came into her own, and by the end of this book, she could definitely stand on her own two feet.

There were only a couple of small things that I was curious about at the end. They SORT of got answered in the bonus chapter you can get when you sign up for the author's newsletters, but not QUITE as much as I'd like. Perhaps there's another series after this one involving a few other characters as the main people? It seems likely. At this point, I'm just making assumptions that certain people get together, and I'll assume I'm right, lol.

This is going on my list of books to recommend, and to possibly buy in the future! (Despite the odd errors throughout the books, like a name being spelled wrong in a place, or other words being misspelled. They weren't a big deal!)

Six books for this series was excessive. 3 at max was needed, because honestly, a whole lot of nothing happened throughout this entire story.

Premise started out interesting but nothing was ever really developed for the reader to understand.

What happened to the pack’s parents?
What was Knox’s problem in books 1-3?
How did Sterling and Royce have this much influence on another realm?

Minimal character development, also, 6 books for her to find her power? Last 100 pages? This entire series dragged with repetitive attacks on the pack and individuals but nothing felt at stake.

The entire thing just became a chore to read in the end which is disappointing.

Also, get to the point with your stories lady, there is absolutely NO need to have dragged it out this long. I did not need 10 chapters per book of her running through the rivers, forests, and terrains. And she’s not even smart enough to bring new technology to the realm. Audrey was a dud.

Oh and also, another author guilty of putting sex scenes at the absolute WORST of times. Give your story plot instead?

Good

With Bishop healed, the pack has to deal with another Grimalkin attack, and Audrey has to face the ghosts of her past.
Treachery, alliances, and magical mayhem ensue, as Audrey and her mates tale comes to an end.

This book picks up from book five’s cliffhanger, which means yes, you need to have read the five preceding books first. It’s not a hardship though, because it’s an engrossing story in which love, determination, and perseverance, prove to be the things that set Audrey free. She’s come a long way from the cowering woman we first met, and the love of her alphas has given her strength. However, it’s her own determination which allows her to win her way through, find her inner strength, and fulfill all the dreams she ever had.
I enjoyed the series a lot, and loved the ending to this one, as we see Audrey take up the call.
All in all, this is a great series for RH fans, for rejected/fated mates lovers, and those who enjoy fantasy romance.

Series Completion Review: [Beware Spoilers]

This is barely a 3-star read. The word "heaved" is used so freaking much (22 times in book 3 and 28 times in book 6 as an example). That seems like such a small thing, but once you notice it you can't stop seeing it. I need synonyms please. The FMC doesn't actually show consistent, solid strength until book 6 - I DNF at 44% and she still didn't have a wolf and still hadn't mated her last guy. So my fears from book 3 were confirmed: The ending was rushed. The pacing of this series is terrible. The events are all pretty much filler, this could have been a trilogy and been better off.

By far the worst series I've read from this author and that is so disappointing.

3.5⭐️ for this series!

I would love to see this restructured as a trilogy. The 6-book installment with nail-biting cliffhangers could’ve been resolved with just a bit more organization. The world building is very cool, but unnecessarily repetitive (again, 6 short books is too many). Despite the spelling and grammatical errors, I enjoyed it and am willing to leave a pretty good review.

The story kept my interest, the smut is good without being too frequent or overdone, and the characters are fully redeemable by the end. I do think Devoted felt rushed, especially near the end, and would’ve liked a slower conclusion arch to the story.

What a great series. I have bid riveted. Audrey,, Cyrus, Bishop, and Knox worked so well together. While it was a log series, it had a great plot. I was in the realm watching the story unfold. And great story, our expected turns, and steamy scenes made for a good experience. Recommend this one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

fantastic ending

I was looking forward to the final book of the series and was worried about it rushing through to end. It definitely did not! I was so happy with the way it turned out.

An amazing ending to an amazing series. Watching these characters grow over six books has been heartwrenching. But this final book really did them and their story justice. This is a series I know I’ll reread again and again.

Great series!

This book and the entire series was full of romance, action and intrigue. I could not put them down. The journey that Audrey takes going from abused and skittish to loved, powerful and confident is the chefs kiss.

A favorite series!

I loved every single book. Interest never dwindled and the characters continued to evolve beyond surface personalities. I'm of course disappointed to say goodbye.

I'm disappointed. I like the concept of the series and the tropes it includes, but I just can't connect with the main characters or the storyline.

Kinda surprised by how small the section of her needed to be saved in the fae realm has been short. It felt rushed. Hell, we could have had another book added to the series with that.
