pretty good book since it is half of Kai Ninja of Fire. The funny and weird part was the beginning. But obviously Sensei Wu in it and telling him about the skeleton army. So that is it for now and i will update on what will happen next.

A really fast read I checked out as an e-book from my local library. I love the tv show and have decided to read this series to see how it compares. What I like best us that it expands on the series, instead of being a rehashed and reworded episode. This is a new story geaturing familiar characters. I also enjoyed the way it added onto the previous chapter book about Kai. This one went deeper into Zane's issues, which is interesting because in the show the question if Zane's origins and family comes up way later than when they collect all the Spinjitzu weapons. It was interesting to see this come up earlier than the show presented it. This particular book also provides a close up experience with the main villain, which the previous book did not do. Excellent way of upping the ante. I would recommend these for fans of the series for sure. It adds a little bit more without being too heavy in terms of reading size or comprehension. Its quick to the point and easy to follow, not to mention brief.

I read this to get a better understanding of the Ninjago universe for a program. It was actually more thoughtful than I was anticipating and I'm glad that so many children seem to love this series. I would definitely recommend it.

Okay stories, but what is the deal with the random large print words? Annoying and distracting.

I liked it how Zane said the weapons felt fake and felt like they were made of iron.

It was cool. Garmadon tricked Zane. Zane wanted to find out about his parents. But Zane tricked Garmadon.

I liked this book so much more than the first book in the series. Though my son liked book 1, I did not. This book, however, has much more going on. Zane is a better developed character than Kai was in the first. Plus, he is just more interesting. This book has a strong central conflict: Zane's decision as to whether to provide Garmadon with the weapons of Spinjitzu in exchange for information about what had happened to his family. This internal conflict and the story connected to it was enough to capture my interest. My 6 year old, of course, liked it too. I'm not dreading the remaining books in the series quite as much any more.

I can't keep up with everything my 3rd grader reads these days. She asked me multiple times to read at least one Ninjago Masters of Spinjitzu book and I finally picked this one up (I asked her to choose one for me) and read it. Not my typical genre, obviously... 😊 it was actually pretty good. Very clear good versus evil that is totally science fiction but the struggle to choose right from wrong is so relatable.

I found a greater appreciation for Zane in this book. I didn't realize how real Zane seems and how easy it is to relate to him. Out of all the ninja, I identify with him most. I can relate to his doubts and questions and his line of thinking. He is mysterious, smart, but often misses the joke. I found myself wanting to know more about him, even though he wasn't my favorite ninja at first. His story is more interesting than the others.

Not just a summary of the episodes, this book actually caught my attention and held it. I was actually very concerned by the end for the well being of the characters, but perhaps this is because I am a great Ninjago fan and Zane is my favorite character.

[4.5] I prefer reading from Zane's perspective. I feel like you wouldn't be able to enjoy these books without knowing anything about the show or at least you wouldn't understand certain things that are mentioned.

My 5-year-old son is crazy about Lego and generally interested in the Ninjago stuff, so he gravitated toward this when he saw it in the library.

I blame myself for not giving it a quick flip-through, because I probably could have anticipated how this would have been received. This book is more appropriate for the 7 to 10 age range. It doesn't have pictures and some of the words used I'm certain my five-year-old does not know.

Before we finished it tonight, I asked my son what had been happening in the story so far.

"Garamadon is asking Zane a lot of questions." Generally, this is true. But he was missing the nuance of Garamadon attempting to trade information about Zane's unknown past in exchange for the ninja's fealty.

We've checked out three books from this series from the library, so we'll probably have these comprehension issues in the next few installments.

Then I'll try to get him to switch to "Captain Underpants," because those will have lots of pictures.

This was much better than the Kai Ninja of Fire book. Zane is my absolute favorite. Ice is my favorite element. Zane is more serious and calm. Kai rushes into things without thinking it over. This book is about Zane and the mystery of his parents and his adventures as a ninja. I enjoyed this book but it's nothing special. I would recommend Warrior Cats, Seekers, Wings of Fire, Survivors, Fablehaven, and Watership Down.
