Some of the stories in this collection are taken right from the pages of the Grandma's Attic books, but not all of them. There are also stories that you won't find anywhere else. I enjoy reading these stories again and again. Some of them bring much laughter as Sarah Jane and Mabel get into one scrape or another, but others have a touch of the sweet and tender. All in all, this is a collection of stories worth reading and re-reading.

Grandma's Attic was a staple of my childhood. I don't know how many times I read the series to myself. I still remember Mom reading them aloud. I recently bought this collection and was delighted to find that most of the stories were new! Only one or two were reprinted from the original series. And there are even a couple about a very young Arleta!
After a very long day, it was very nice to curl up and enjoy this sweet, and precious collection of nostalgic stories.

A must-read for Grandma's Attic fans! Once again, Mabel shares stories with her granddaughter Arelta. This time, the stories center around Christmas and each story has a lesson for Arleta and the reader. There are about three stories that are taken from the Grandma's Attic books, but the rest of the stories are new. Colored illustrations add to the delight of the stories and at the end, there is a recipe for Grandma's Christmas cake. I was glad I found this book as I have always enjoyed reading about Mabel and Sarah Jane's humorous adventures.

Some of these stories are found in the Grandma's Attic series and some of these stories are not.
