The war for the immortal throne has begun, and I'm stuck right in the middle of it.
I've always been very interesting in my family history, but what I learned could never prepare me for the secrets that were kept.
The truth of my bloodline was lost and forgotten and the secret was hidden away. Unfortunately for me, my blood is unlike anything that's ever been seen in the supernatural world, which paints a VERY large target on my back. I am destined to end the war, whether it be on the Vampire side, or the Immortal side.
If not for Aeric, I would not have made it as far as I have. Things are about to get a lot worse, and I don't know how much more I can handle...

A young girl (Kailah) discovers that she is from a lost and forgotten powerful Immortal blood line after she meets a strange new physician at work. She begins to have visions and see spirits and has trouble controlling bad things from happening when she is angry. Along the way she discovers the terrible truth about who she is and the incredible power that is locked away deep inside her. Her Immortal ancestors want to use her to destroy the vampire race. Vampires want to use her power to destroy her Immortal ancestors. But hiding in the shadows are those who have been watching her since she was born. They want to help Kailah discover who she is and help her learn to use her abilities. They simply want for her to make the right decision before it's too late. Unfortunately for them time is not on their side and the Rogue Vampires have plans for Kailah no one could have imagined.

This is the novel that I authored and published in May 2011. This is a novel I am highly passionate about and any of you out there who are in love with the vampire/fantasy genre will also love this novel. It has something for everyone in it. The vampires are split into two categories. Those who are living who are the smart, sexy type and those who are dead (the rogues) who are evil, dangerous, and cruel.
For those of you who are wanting a twist on the typical vampire genre - here it is. There is a 3,000 year old war between Immortals (humans gifted with immortal life and control of the elements as well as the power of vision) and the vampires. The Vampire queen and the Immortal queen have a deep seeded hate for one another and will stop at nothing to destroy the other race.
The Immortals plan on using their power - once the Vampire queen is dead - to take over humanity. The DEAD vampires want the Queen of BOTH species dead so they can control the humans and use them openly as food and anything else they seem fit. Only one person stands in their way. A 20 year old woman named Kailah, who was born directly in the middle of this war and stumbled upon her birthright by accident - merely by going to work one day.
If you are looking for something fun, interesting, heartwrenching, and lore based to read - this is it.
This is the paperback version.

This was a wonderful book! I had a hard time putting it down. The characters are very well rounded and realistic. It was easy to relate to the main character, Kailah. Her reactions to the way her world drastically changed in a very short time were very believable. The story is a fresh, unique take on both vampires and immortals. This novel will draw you in, hold you until the last page, and leave you wanting more. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I highly recommend it to any fellow bookworms who enjoy a good paranormal tale! I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series.

Kailah heads off to work one day for her usual shift at the hospital, and finds out by the new head doctor - She is from a lost and forgotten powerful bloodline, which enables her with the gift of sight and powers never once to be foreseen in such depths within an immortal. She sees spirits and finds it hard to control herself when angry and upset, this new discovery takes her into a world she never knew or ever imagined.

A family she never knew still existed both in life and spirit, ghosts who come to her and Rogue Vampires out to steal her powers. The Rogues are after Kailah to use her powers to destroy her Immortal Ancestors.
Hiding in the shadows, Kailah finds she has people who are there to help her, protect her and show her how to enhance her new found powers.
The Rogue vampires won’t back down and they have plans for Kailah – life for death they will try to take her.

The rogues have an agenda, steal Kaliah’s powers – kill the two Queens so that they can control the humans and use them as they please.

However the living Vampires have a different agenda in mind.

The war between them spans 3000 years, Immortals – (Humans gifted with immortality and who can control the elements and the Rogue vampires who are dead, dangerous, sick and evil.

A fight to save Kailah and her powers can lead to more than any of them ever bargained for. Including Kailah !!

My Thoughts;

A Great debut novel from Author Candy Crum I must say I was very impressed, I really enjoyed it 

Eternal Gift is a unique story filled with two different types of vampires, an intriguing storyline with a great cast of kick arse characters and twists and turns that I am sure will leave you gasping and frantic. A different spin off from the normal Vampires we currently have shelved. This I enjoyed..

Candy has created a world filled with Immortals, dead and Alive Vampires and elements used with such unique characteristics I’m sure your interest will be piqued throughout.

A unique world built around a war that has spanned over 3000 years, a vast array of unique characters that I’m sure you will enjoy and fall in love with. And evil I’m sure where you will want to see them materialized into thin air. ** mwaharrrrrr **

A kick arse female lead, which is not only gusty but caring, and this shows throughout her personality. A hotty we all love to see, actually two - or was it three - ** flutters eyelashes** swoon - Yes!!!!
I loved the bantering between the two – an attraction present that leaves you wanting more and just waiting for them to get in on... Actually in more than on scene!!

An interesting storyline, that I’m sure will not only suck you in, within the first few chapters but have you eagerly reading till the end. Heartfelt moments where you grasping at your reader, smexy moments where your hairs on your arms will stand on end and also moments like the end where you are turning the pages of your reader to find out it’s the end - but you will want more.

An unpredictable ending that will leave you shocked and your heart strumming.
A paranormal world filled with all the goodies one could want and more, a great debut novel by Candy Crum, I eagerly await book 2.

4.5 stars !!!

Unfortunately for them time is not on their side and the Rogue Vampires have plans for Kailah no one could have imagined."

I absolutely loved this book. I am a big fan of the genre and always love it when a new look or twist to the traditional is found. I love Kailah, she is a no nonsense gal who does not think she is invincible and is willing to admit when she needs help, but will not shy away from doing all she can to protect those she cares about even if she knows she is putting herself in jeopardy. The supporting characters are fun as well and these are generally a group of folks I would like to know and visit from time to time. I feel the story was well written and fun to read. I laughed and giggled at times and other times shed a little tear or sat on the edge of my seat wanting to know what would happen next. I can honestly say I did not, even once, have that feeling of how much more until the end and just devoured it page by page. The story resolved well and yet leaves the opening for future installments and as this is The Eternal Series #1, I do not feel I am going out on a limb here in believing there is more to come. When I finished this book I had a smile on my face, which is a real biggy for me, and I am eagerly awaiting for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this read to anyone who enjoys the genre and feel you will not be disappointed in this read. I purchased this book and am really glad I took the chance on a new to me author and read.

Okay, lets start with WOW! More and more vampire books are hitting the shelves these days, which is great for me since this is my favorite, but this one ranks right up on the top of my fav list. Very few books have brought tears to my eyes, this was one of them and oh do I love it when a book brings out my emotions. Its like I'm right there experiencing it all.

Kailah learns of her immortal heritage after meeting a vampire at work. She has very strong powers that immortals want to use to eliminate the vampires but the vampires want to use her powers to overpower the immortals and save their race.

This book left me begging for more. I mean who doesn't like strong magical elements, immortals, vampires, and cute guys.

I normally just rate books by the stars, but this one was a book that I could not stop reading till I was finished it all. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to everyone. I read a lot of books and this is one of the best ones I have read in a long time and can't wait to read more in this series. So if I could give it more then 5 stars I would that is how much I really liked this book.

A Analynn é irritante!
“The Eternal Series” – irei acompanhar ;-)

I finished reading "The Eternal Gift" e-book on October 15, and on it I just have to say - it's awesome! I enjoyed reading this story and I don’t hesitate to rate it five stars! When I got to the end, I could only think, "Oh, man! Is it over already?! I want the rest!" LOL! Surely if I had the paperback instead of the digital version, I would have read it at once.
What did I like? To begin, I particularly like this kind of stories related to the paranormal that combines action with romance. Both appear here in balance, without one never replace or overshadow the other.
For those who think this is just one more vampires’ story, I have to say that you are wrong, since the author added something different - an immortal woman able to communicate with the spirits, to evoke them and master/ channel their energy and also the power of the elements. This last point reminds me a little bit the series "House of Night," in which Zoey is a vampire, but she’s also capable of evoking the elements. However, the spirit here is not the Goddess one, how you can find out by reading ;-)
The fact that the roots of the protagonist are presented (which I suspect to be in fact those of the author’s) is very positive; I like when a story is based on legends told from generation to generation - in this case, these are related to Indian tribes.
I liked the transformation in the character Jacques, and I guess that this five centuries old vampire will still give plenty to talk about; frankly, I hope so, because there is much that can be explored on this true seducer gentleman who’s wise and reasonable.
The climax of the story also carries unexpected twists, which makes us bite our nails. If the reader expects something to happen at the last moment so that the protagonist can escape, better not... Well, I won’t say much more about the main scene to not spoil the surprise.
The love-hate relationship between Kailah and Aeric pleases me; the antagonism and how they repel each other, to then everything change is interesting. But will they be together? Aeric more than once said it was not possible. It’s a mystery...
The plot develops easily, the events follow one another and there’s no monotony - in fact, boredom is a term that does not fit here at all. When we think that everything is well, something happens that alters the course of events. At times I even felt tired and thought, "Sheesh! But this girl doesn’t have a moment of peace?" On the other hand, if nothing happened, why write a book that would be only a boring story devoid of action?
I had some difficulty "deciphering" the acronyms, mainly related to health care, such as H&P and CNA among other examples. Some I was able to unravel, others I just ignored...
Analynn is annoying! She’s a character to hate and it’s easy to do that. What I criticize is that she appears too quickly. She could only emerge later in the story and not right after the romantic scene in which Aeric mention a small detail that points toward her. For example, she could appear in the sequence of things that start to go wrong when Kailah is with the Aeric; Kailah would then realize that this was due to the presence of an angry spirit, and only then Analynn would reveal herself. Hey, it's just a suggestion and my opinion! However, the mystery of how she died remains, which is good, because it’s not revealed at once all about her- not to mention the suspended finale, to which she is related.
I was a little frustrated by not quite understand why vampires and immortals don’t get along. And what are Khia’s plans for Kailah anyway? Why does she want her? I think that’s a puzzle to be explored in the second book in the series.
Not knowing what happened to Jacques saddened me a little. There wasn’t a single mention of him leaving the house after the fight... I sympathized with the character, and I wish there had been a reference to him at least at the end of the scene that I mentioned. But something tells me that he will return and leave his mark on the story; I keep that hope.
In short, I liked it and recommend reading this book! Isn’t it easy to notice? Why then would this be such a long review? Lol! I think it is the biggest one I have ever written in my entire life! Usually when I like a book, feelings tend to overlap rationalism and I cannot explain pretty well why I did like it, but I hope I have made myself understood. "The Eternal Series" – I will follow this one ;-)

After I finished reading this book I immediately began to wonder “Why hasn’t everyone read this?!”. With the world full of cookie cutter vampire books, theres absolutely no reason why this book shouldn’t stand out amongst the rest. Crum’s writing is amazing, the characters are well developed and relatable and the storyline keeps you on the edge of your seat. There was not a moment in this book where I found myself bored or uninterested.

Basically one day Kailah heads off to work where she bumps into ONE woman that sets off a chain reaction and turns her entire world upside down. The moment she comes in contact with this woman she becomes violently ill, she starts having visions, and starts seeing ghosts… and that’s ONLY the beginning!

Also, something very notable in the story are the 2 different types of Vampires. One type comes out in the day, eats food, are intelligent and typically kind. The other come out at night, are cruel and vicious, and basically love killing. Also, make sure you keep your eyes peeled for a visit from DEATH himself. He doesn’t play a main role but her description of him is so original and detailed that you can actually picture the dark figure standing in the corner of your bedroom.

I guarantee if you like Paranormal tales, you will love this book! There’s something for EVERYONE! There are gorgeous vampires, a wonderful twisting turning storyline where you cant decide who the real threat is, and a strong heroine who will do anything for her family.

I’m giving this book 5 stars because of the exquisite writing. Her descriptions and the telling of the story are flawless and I’m anxiously awaiting the next installment of this wonderful series.

~~I received this as a gift in exchange for an honest review~~

This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Crum, and I can tell you that this isn't going to be the last book. I wasn't grabbed at the beginning of the book, but there was enough there that it kept me intrigued, and intrigued I was! This book is about Vampires, and no, not the sparkly vampires. This has day walkers and the good old fashioned vampires that can't go into the sun because they will die. There are also immortals in this book. Kailah, is 20 years old and she wakes up from the strangest dream, or what she thinks is a dream. In her dream there is a person that is familiar to her, but she can't place where she knows him from. Everything that she thinks is fairy tail, is in fact very much real life. She has troubles coping with all the information that is presented to her. Kailah meets 2 very gorgeous and hansom guys and she immediately has a reaction to them. She doesn't understand why she is getting this reaction to them, until she figures out why and who they are.

Candy has kept me intrigued, and with a book that I went blindly into reading, I love that. I always like looking for new authors, and I have found one that I will continue to read. She writes well, and the descriptions of the area, or the people make you imagine that you are watching a movie. I am going to go and find the next book in this series!! This book is worth losing sleep over!!

This book was very well written, definitely had me hooked.
All the characters were "believable" and they got along superb.
As Kailah is learning her powers, she is taken into the home of Aeric, Brett and Khanae who are Vampires. Kailah is an immortal, her bloodline is to hate all vampires. But she learns to trust them and she learns from them how to use her powers, as they are there to protect her from her Great, Great, Great-grandmother Khia. Also siding with the vampires is Kailah's Great great grandmother Sayden.
Kailah has always had visions, and seen ghost. Now she is able to talk to the ghost and use their spirits to boost her powers.
As she is with Aeric she falls for him and he for her. But he tells her he can never be with her. He is always there to save her, as there are many times her life becomes in danger. The rogue vampires want her, to turn her into one of them for the power, vampires want her on their side to over balance the war and of course Khia wants her so they can rid the world of ALL vampires.
I love the banter between Kailah and Aeric! I can't wait to get ahold of the rest of this series!

Kailah's story is one of a girl learning who she is and has to deal not only with growing up, real fast but also with loss, heartache and responsibility beyond her years. Her powers, as she becomes aware of them is impressive and her understanding of what is happening is limited.
Even in these circumstances she grows into her role real fast and with a strength that you want to see in your main protagonist.
The other characters, especially the evil one's is well fleshed out and their evil apparent. Their motivation is explored but it does nothing to make them less evil and thus the reader is not left in an emotional ambivalent state.
The story is well told and progresses at a pace that keeps you turning the pages. The end is a real cliff hanger. And I am sure that most paranormal romance lovers will adore this book
A 4 * read and one I would recommend to all lovers of this genre.

The Eternal Gift is riveting and entertaining, with non-stop action. The characters are well formed and believable. The story pulls you into the lives of these characters and takes you on a non-stop roller-coaster ride. I finished the book and wanted the next installment immediately. I am anxiously awaiting the next book, The Eternal Echo, which is supposed to pick up 6 months later, and I hear the author is working on a novella to cover the interim action! I can't wait! Loved it! A must read for paranormal romannce and action lovers!

Good story, some drawbacks

I loved the story, but I found the writing lacking. The verb tense was inconsistent, and there were parts that were meaningless filler. I was disappointed with the villain at the end as well, but no spoilers here.

3.75 stars for The Eternal Gift.

This book contains paranormal, romance and non stop action, and with that it ticks all the boxes necessary for a really good paranormal read. It didn't take me long to sink into Kailah's story. I did find it a bit odd that Kailah took to her life changing so drastically pretty well, I mean that first incident didn't scare the bejesus out of her or indeed her best friend Rachel, they took it all in their stride.

I had a few reservations that Kailah hadn't freaked out when she learned about Vampires and Immortals especially what happened the day at the hospital but then after meeting Aeric she seemed to finally have a bit of a melt down about it all and she seemed a bit more real.

But then I simply could get over my reservations because this story flew at a great pace, there's action all the way, the romance element was well written and then of course pitching Immortals against Vampires and Rogue Vampires was also delivered very well and kept my interest fully seated all the way through.

All in all this is a good paranormal read, it certainly holds your attention, the characters have substance and come across interactive and dimensional and I definitely want to know what happens next. I absolutely hate cliffhangers but thankfully book 2 The Eternal Echo is already available - phew!

I received a copy of The Eternal Gift in return for an honest review. My reviews are my own and are 100% honest.

This book is something I would recommend to someone looking for new things after The Southern Vampire Mysteries or another more adult vampire series. It has a great pace that easy draws you into the story and get invested quickly. There weren't many boring moments, and I found it hard to put this book down.

At first, I had a hard time believing Kailah and her seemingly nonchalant acceptance of her origins and fate. But after that issue was addressed, I very much got into her story and was rooting for her. The wit of the characters definitely had me chuckling to myself. There are several characters throughout the book, and I enjoyed them all. They all seem so well thought out, and I felt like I could relate to them on different levels.

There are plenty of unsuspected twists in this novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat as you read it. This is the first book I've read from this author, and I'll be gladly waiting to read the rest of this series. I felt such an attachment to this story and characters. I really enjoyed it.

Paranormal fans, fang bangers, PNR junkies, you will love this one! Cliff hanger warning -- there is a cliffhanger, but as I mentioned before, this book is meant to be the first in a series!

**I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. My thanks to Candy Crum and Sparkle Book Tours.

This book was truly amazing. The characters are unique in their own special ways. They were strong and bold but had lots humor and sarcasm. Alot of action, so I never got bored. I totally fell in love with the two main characters Kailah and Aeric. Kailah was just the average young lady, so she thought. Till one night at the hospital changes everything. Her life as a human was so much simpler than the life she was destined to live. Come to find out vampires were not only in books and movies. Kailah had very strong feelings for one named Aeric. She didn't know if she hated him or found him charming. Confusion became her world. Who to trust? Who not to trust? And it would only get worse before anything became better for her. Making sure her best friend or her sister stayed safe, she would always take the bite. In her new world she meets supernatural beings, element of all types, even death at his finest. Powers, so many powerful powers around her. Not listening to her inner self, trouble finds her yet again. This time trouble she could not handle on her own. Things get very intense. A choice that she has to make. Turns out deadly. Where was her sexy vampire? As her eyes closed!

All I can say is WOW! What a different take on Vampires and Immortals!

Kailah and Amanda are sisters with an Immortal family lineage.

On a night out , brothers Aeric and Brett come to Kailah and her friend , Rachel's rescue . At first there's a bit of a love/hate relationship going between Kailah and Aeric but it deepens as the story goes on . I must admit I'd turn to the vamp side if Aeric was my welcoming committee =]

Kailah's Immortals want to use her power to destroy the Vampire race abd visa versa but there are those out there , from both worlds that have been watching her and encouraging her to develop her gifts/powers for the right reasons.

As in any story there are bad guys and these are really BAD ! They have a diabolical plan which may cost Kailah her life ! Among our bad vamps there us one that is rather taken with our gal and this adds a rather interesting twist to the tale !

The ending is rather unexpected and a bit of a cliffhanger for me. Looking forward to sinking my teeth into Eternal Return and Eternal Echo.

The Eternal Gift is a unique, action-packed page turner.

Kailah is young and lives a normal life for someone her age but there has always been unusual things that she has had to deal with, such as vivid dreams and premonitions. She has learned to overlook it and figures the premonitions are just coincidence. After having one of the most realistic dream she has ever had and a strange start to a day a work, everything that Kailah has known is about to change. She learns she is from a powerful immortal bloodline and she is the only hope to end a raging war between immortals and vampires.

I love a good paranormal book and this one was just the fix I needed. I loved how it had a different take on vampires. You had two kinds, sexy vampires and evil vampires. This book doesn't start off slowly bringing you into the action, it begins with it. I thought Kailah was strong and handled everything really well. Highly recommend if your love sexy vampires, twists and turns, and lots of action.

This story has a promising premise. A girl has visions of a woman fighting a vampire which comes true. Kailah has abilities and she belongs to a race of immortals. But somehow it wasn't coming together for me. I liked the idea but I thought the story needed more development. I couldn't get a good feel for Kailah and I wasn't caring as much about her story as I would have liked. The writing is promising and I feel that the author does have talent. This is the beginning of a series, so maybe it will get better as it continues. 3 stars.
