2023 bk 69. When Sydney walks in on her boyfriend cheating on her, she flees. Her sister Gwen and the matriarch of Misty Harbor and been putting out feelers to acquire a town doctor for the community and Richard's behavior is the final impetus for her move north. Switching from a pediatrician to a general practitioner takes work and learning how to get along with all folks - and when Hans, an retired fisherman, wonders onto a major street in the middle of the night, Sydney takes him home and at the urging of his grandsons, begins to research what might be wrong. In order to disguise why the doctor is suddenly visiting so much, one of the grandsons says that he dating the doctor - the slight falsehood develops into a reality. Love is very much in the air and this is a good read for Valentine's Day.

I'm a sucker for Holiday romance, and this book didn't disappoint! Christmas on Conrad Street is a holiday romance between two brothers--Norwegian--and two lucky ladies in Misty Harbor, Maine.
The whole story centers around the grandfather--bestefar--or HANS-- and his potential Alzeimers. It is a heartwarming, lovely story with twists and fun. I found myself laughing, getting hot and crying all at the same time:) A great book, and a keeper on my bookshelf! I will definitely be checking out Marcia Evanick's other works.

I read this book in 5 hours... I couldn't put it down!

To be perfectly honest, I read a translation of the first book in this series a few years ago. I kinda liked it but thought it was mostly just ok. The thing is, a the time, the characters who appealed more to me were the viking fishermen twins and the former fiancée of the hero. So, a couple of weeks ago, when I realized that there actually WAS a book with those same fishermen twins and former fiancée, plus the lovely doctor sister of the heroin of the first book, of course I had to read it.
I had some doubt about the book - could it be really as good as I imagined it would be ? -, but started reading it almost as soon as I got it.
So there were a few mishaps along the way (some people will say it's a tad bit too sugary) but, in the end, I found it heartwarming, feel good, utterly sweet. Plus those characters are really lovable. This is like a double christmas tale. A hot cup of cocoa on a cloudy day. And I enjoyed every drop of it.

After finding her cheating boyfriend in a compromising situation, Dr. Sydney Fletcher decides to move to Misty Harbor, Maine where her sister has established a successful restaurant. Three months into establishing her practice she nearly runs over a dazed uncoated Hans Bergesen on a dark winter road three miles from his home. Finding he is the grandfather of the twin Olsen brothers she returns him home. Possible Alzheimer's is a thread in the story which follows the romances of both Olsen twins. Good story and I'm looking forward to reading about the third sister in the next book.

Dr. Sydney Fletcher moves to Misty Harbor, Maine to open a family practice after finding her live-in boyfriend of four years in their bed with another woman. There she meets Erik Olsen. They are immediately attracted to one another. In this small town where eligible men seriously out number women, Sydney has been getting a lot of attention.
I chose this book to take along on a short vacation. It was perfect because I could easily put it down. It was rather predictable and sort of entertaining. I won't be looking for any more books by this author, though.

This is a story about Dr. Sydney Fletcher, her move to Misty Harbor, Maine, and the rugged, handsome Norwegian Erik Olson. The list of additional persons includes Erik's grandfather, Hans, and his twin brother, Gunner. It's a nice Christmas-themed story. Dr. Fletcher is a wonderful doctor and a wonderful person. Erik, Gunner, and Hans are such likeable guys, and Marcia has a way with the story that will warm your heart.

This is the type of book I want to read when I have 4 to 6 hours to relax. It had a fun and entertaining story line. The addition of the intertwining characters was a nice addition. I love Romance and this fit the bill. I recommend a read if you love romance.

Christmas on Conrad Street is the second book in the Misty Harbor series. After reading the first book in the series, I was anxious to read about the twin vikings, Erik and Gunnar. In this book we get two romances for the price of one!

I loved the story between Erik and Sydney. They were a perfect match for each other and I felt the chemistry between the two as soon as the met. Their romance was sweet and caring. I also loved how the author made sure to include the characters from the previous book and the characters from books to come in this series. The writing was fun and the scene setups were cute. I actually felt like I was in Misty Harbor for Christmas.

The only drawback I had with this book is the story of Gunnar and Maggie. I felt that their romance was forced and we didn't get to see their relationship blossom like we did with Erik and Sydney. I feel the author should have left their romance for another book in the series instead of trying to incorporate it into this one.

Overall a quick and cute Christmas read for the holiday season. Even though this is the second book in the series, the author does a wonderful job of letting the reader have this as a stand alone book. Everything, including the characters relationships, are explained without the over abundance of details.

The 2nd in the Misty Harbor series.

Another cute book. The one focuses on the Norwegian twins, Erik and Gunner. Erik's interests lie with Dr. Sydney Fletcher, sister to Gwen from Catch of the Day. Gunner has his sites set on Maggie Franklin Pierce, mother to little Katie.

So far, this series puts a lot of focus on the older generation. The first book had Jonah and Clarence as secondary characters. This book has Hans, grandfather to Erik and Gunner. He is possibly dealing with Alzheimer's and his relationship with his grandsons his front and center. I like the way that Evanick incorporates the whole family in the story. People are more than just their insecurities--their families are a part of who they are and push them through those insecurities.

The is a light-hearted read--it is nothing deep or serious. A quite read that leaves a smile on your face.

Note: There is a 4-year-old in this one...if you don't like kids in romances, you might roll your eyes at this one. :)

I like how people are somewhat 'real' in Misty Harbor and yet still has the small town mystique.

What I enjoyed:
* 'Real' characters. Hans was a bad father and is dealing with a possible crippling illness. Sydney mentions the long hours she works. Stuff like that.
* The small town where just about everyone is welcoming and you get to read about people you already like as well as add new ones to the list.
* Two stories in one as both Eric and his twin Gunnar find love this time out.

What could have been better:
* Never did get a good reason Sydney was insecure enough to stay with Richard for 4 years.
* Surprised Gwen was barely in this one, considering Sydney is her sister.

After catching her live in boyfriend of 4 years betraying her, Sydney moves to Misty Harbor and opens a small medical office in town. Syd has been to Misty Harbor a few times because her sister owns the local restaurant. Sydney is settling in great and gets along with everyone, but Erik makes her a little woozy. There are 2 Vikings that live in town and they are twins. They are both looking for love and kids. Erik has to depend on Sydney to help with the diagnosis of his grandfather who has been forgetting things lately and is putting himself in danger. While his brother Gunner has his eye set on Maggie and her little girl Katie.

If you are looking for a slighty 'naughty' Christmas romance, then this may be the ticket..

As someone who majored in Scandinavian Studies (with an emphasis on Norwegian language), it was pretty difficult for me to not be excited about this book, and also not read it with my 'professional' hat on.

I did enjoy it in the moments when I wasn't thinking too hard about the author's presentation of Norwegian language and some of the things she implied about norsk kultur.

However, if you couldn't care less about getting a Norwegian language lesson out of the book, then enjoy!

It was a touch too light for my taste. It was so predictable, I found it difficult to keep interested after reading about half of the book. The characters are a little too simplistic and not very mature. I liked the first book of the series, so perhaps I was just not in the mood for this one.

This series is the one I go back to when I want a wonderful and sweet story, and I read the books quite often. It’s to bad that the author died, I wonder if she would have continue the series.
I love the stories and characters even though there are a lot of cliches.
