Bobby and Moira are married and they arrive in 2073 Melbourne. Bobby has a job to take care of and it is implied that the job must go without any hiccups as the future depends on it.

It takes place in Melbourne so I really liked all the references to places that I know and have visited so many times. And I liked that they could visit the future without any issues, but only travel back up to the point the time travel machine was invented. But other than that I could not like this story. A lot of time was spent on describing the attire that they wear. They didn't exactly mention what the job was that Bobby was looking after. The only thing that was mentioned was that the future depended on it and they saved nine million lives but how, why?

It was a waste really.

It takes something almost special for a story so short to feel so utterly pointless.

A Free Tor.com short story which can be found here.

My children talk about the pictures of me from the early 90's the same way these characters talk about fashion from the future.

Mysterious travelers from the future arrive in 2073 Melbourne with a mission to prevent a grave catastrophe from taking place.

This story could have been so much more. The beginning is packed with cringeworthy jokes about fashion, but once events start rolling it is actually pretty good. Only for it to end too quickly with hints at a richer more captivating story revolving around the two main characters.

Not for everyone, but still worth a go.

Another Tro.com short story

This is odd, another story on Tor that mentiones a big war in Venesuala. I wonder if that's something on peoples radar right now? This is a time travel one, and it has a library in it, so I feel like I should like it more then I do. Instead of talking about that though, this story just talks about how people in the future have weird clothes and are kind of rude and or dumb. I guess it can maybe be apllyed that ever era is like that though. This story rates a meh, but had some interesting ideas.

But oh the choice to destroy history in order to save lives :(

What would you do with time travel - stop terrible things from happening? The title alone makes it worth the read.
