Informative, but just okay. There are a lot of references to You on a Diet, which I also read. You: Losing Weight was a scaled down version of You: On a Diet.

I have read several Dieting books. This one was different because it was practical, not preachy and demanding. The authors give you proven tips that have worked for others and do not call for major lifestyle changes.

I have issues with any book that devotes a whole chapter to explaining various types of exercises that one should do but not show any illustrations or pictures of how to do these exercises. While a plank maybe easy to do for some, having an illustration of plank would certainly help. I am a visual learner so I found this chapter to be very disappointing. Most of the advice listed in the book is pretty common sense if you have read enough of these weight loss books. I was hoping something new but this book seems to cover the same tired ground.

Although this book was only 115 pages I still feel like I learned a lot. This book is a simplified version of his YOU on a diet . The book was very big on explaining how your body works, in a scientific way, but I think that's a good thing. It also explains how diets don't work but being able to eat well can help you understand how your body works and why it does what it does is actually the way, and the key, to healthy weight management for yourself and it also has had good healthy recipes.
Was a quick read at only 115 pages but I still feel like I walked away with pertinent information!

Waaaay too much chemistry for me in the beginning. I never liked chemistry. Recipes are ones I'd rarely use...the exercise segments were interesting, especially the visual of the muscles we usually work when we work out, and why those are not the right ones.

I appreciated the fact they are promoting laifestyle changes. I know that's the only way to make lasting changes.

Now, if I'd only stop reading it and start following it.

This is apparently a fast, over-view version of "You: On a Diet". There were some good points, and the recipes actually sound good and do-able, unlike some diet books I've read. There are other weight loss books that I like better, but it could just be the condensed nature of this one that left me uninspired.

I learned quite a bit from all the chemical and biological explanations at the beginning of the book. I enjoyed the humor and metaphors the authors used, as it helped this non-science minded individual to really understand what is going on inside my gut.
