A fun read full of pulpy action and gruesome fantasy imagery. Just what the alchemist ordered.

There were 3 novels based on the Fighting Fantasy universe, along with 4 linked worked. This was the third and final novel and it's arguably the best of them. It doesn't have the epic backdrop of the Trolltooth Wars, nor the iconic characters. However, it is better written. I enjoyed reading this now and if I'd read it as a young teen, it would have knocked my socks off.
