Read this one to my kitten a month or two ago as well as the Psyduck Ducks Out book. Both by different authors.

I like Tracey’s writing better! She’s makes it fun. I think the premise was pretty weak on this one yet she pulled it off.

She also does the Dragon Master books which we love reading together. Guess we vibe with Tracey.

This was a read-aloud with my boys. A decent novel to keep kids engaged and it has a logical plot and good writing, which can be rare with books based on TV/movies.

Against a juggling Exeggutor and a singing Charmander, Ash hasn't an act good enough for the talent show. Team Rocket lure Pikachu away with a magic flute, and after Pokebattling with them, Ash wins, saving all the Pokémon. Another in a set of chapter books of Pokémon.

The overall Pokemon story is good, but I'm finding that the individual stories meant to fill a 22 minute episode are pretty weak. This is a perfect example of that, a random Pokemon talent show...who the hell cares. There's no stakes here in the main plot because I don't care if Ash and his friends win some stupid contest with no prize or stakes except bragging rights. It's just stupid premise I don't care about, plus team rocket lather rinse repeat.

I guess everyone's talent is singing. Not much to the plot or setting or storytelling in this one. At least Gary brings some character to the interactions.

I think the most interesting part in this book was when snorlax clogged up the trapdoor. I never knew that people can't notice glue on their butts.

I def. Enjoy Pokemon games and these short stories are perfect for a nightly read aloud with my 6 year old. He enjoyed it and therefore, so did I!
