If you’d like to see cool Soviet movie posters from the 20’s then this is the book for you! It’s full of ‘em!
Some really neat stuff in here but you’re not really getting anything more than just the posters. If you want a look beyond that you’re out of luck. That said, there are some really awesome posters here!

This is a really quite spectacular collection of Soviet movie posters from the silent-film era (I noticed only one sound-film, from 1930). The small format (7 5/8" x 5 1/2") displays the posters well, though the tiny italic font in which the English, German, and French descriptions are rendered can be hard to read.

The book presents the Russian avant-garde film posters of the 1920s and 1930s with just enough context to appreciate how bold, experimental and visually modern they feel.
A great introduction to a brief but extraordinary movement.
