The first half of this volume finishes the fight against Ikki, and thus the Black Saints Arc. I will admit, it's been so long since I've read the previous volume, so I was a little lost, which... actually kind of worked out well for me; these two chapters with Ikki were good as fuck, and I'd forgotten how... not boring necessarily, just... I didn't care too much for how the Black Saints were just clones of our heroes. Ikki is his own man, which is cool. And he's also basically the Hiei/Vegeta/Sasuke of the story, or so he felt here, which is maybe weird to say because... he came before those characters. But whatever.
Anyway, we jump almost immediately into the Silver Saints Arc without any sense of a breather. I'm not sure I care too much for this breakneck pacing, but I'm also just assuming this is simply how the manga will be, moving forward. And, honestly, the manga isn't too long overall, so the fact that it seems like it will just be fight after fight for nearly thirty volumes doesn't seem very bad at all. Unfortunately, the first Silver Saint fight isn't great; Misty is done by the end of the volume, meaning he lasted shorter than Ikki, which kinda-sorta fucks the power-scaling. The main thing here is Seiya evolves his Meteor Fist into the Comet Fist by concentrating the attack from a spread of punches to a more focused strike-point. Then he comes up with the Rolling Crash, which is basically a Cosmo-fueled suplex or something, and has nothing to do with his basic punch attacks, but whatever. This evolution of Seiya's fighting style works well for the manga thus far, but I just hope future Silver Saints will be stronger-seeming than Misty. My fear right now is that the other three Bronze Saints will have 1-on-1 fights against Silver guys for the simple narrative purpose of giving them all new techniques, which... could be boring for being formulaic. But we'll see. I think the Gold Saints Arc isn't until Volume 8, meaning the Silver Saints won't be around for too long, which could be good or bad depending on how Kurumada goes with it.

Like I said, still reading these "totally legal" scans of the volumes, but I did order a copy of the sixth volume from Right Stuf Anime (because they randomly had it,) so the next review will probably be a legit copy of a volume being held in my hands.
Anyway, I feel like we went from a really powerful emotional wrap-up of this initial arc with all the drama surrounding Phoenix knight Ikki (there was a hella big reveal in that mess, too) right into some major WTF territory. It's nice to see the appearance of when they appear, even if it's not under the best of circumstances, because it definitely exposes just a little more lore and world-building that's gone into this series. However, everything that kind of occurs as a result once that happens just seems very sudden, very fast and more than a little out of left field. Also, was I supposed to care about Misty? Or...?
This is one hell of a crazy train ride. I'm looking forward to going through the rest of the volumes as best as I can but yeesh, is this something else.

This manga has just become even more interesting. I was aware there were small differences between Manga and Anime, but this volume just blew my mind.
I did set the spoiler alert, so here it goes.
All knights have the same fucking father!?
What the fuck, my little bros from different mommas and pappas?
What happened here? Can someone explain it to me? I watched the anime in my mother tongue which is Portuguese. I am quite sure this was never mentioned in the Anime, at least in the Brazilian Portuguese dub version.
Does anyone have anything to tell me about all of this?
Please and thank you.

Can’t complain about more Ikki lore, in the end the power of friendship wins. Silver knights seem cool and powerful too
