As the master trainer of the Conclave, it is Lord Dagan Kiel’s duty to provide and train a wife for the Grand Master, so when he spies a beautiful naked young woman on the slave block, he outbids everyone and begins the in-depth, graphic instructions but he didn’t count on falling in love and lust with the lovely Jameela in this fascinating Reaper romance.

After her brothers sold her into slavery, Jameela resigned herself to an existence of backbreaking work or exacting degradation and the readers can’t help but be fascinated by Dagan and Jameela’s passionate story as sheer evil stalks the land and Dagan learns just what depth he will go to keep her at his side. The chemistry is sizzling, the romance is sweet and the love is downright fierce despite the situation and secrets. The emotional turmoil holds readers in its grasp as it flows from the pages and the fast paced and smooth flowing plot captivates readers with lots of suspense, excitement and romance.

Scorching intimate scenes builds lots heat throughout the story while anticipation and suspense build in relation to this doomed romance as readers wonder just how they will overcome Jameela’s role in the conclave and adrenaline pumping excitement builds when evil stalks the land and forever alters their lives while unexpected twists keeping everyone on their toes. The well written scenes are full of vivid details that easily transports the readers to another world while the intriguing events hold them hostage.

The Windlegends universe is such a complex and fascinating world that kind of has a historical and futuristic mixed feel that really adds to the story, all the interesting elements and compelling characters come together in this world in such a way that readers never have a chance to become board because they are too busy discovering something new.

It started out okay with some spicy scenes (albeit lack of world building), but then I started to lose interest. And when the "vampires" came into play I was already skimming. I was a bit confused with the setting (this was prior to the skimming), but then there was sex between the hero and someone other then the heroine (although it was forced per say) and that's a big no for me (and then he didn't kill, or at least badly hurt, the bitch). I lost interest after that.

Slave/Fantasy stories usually don't interest me. I'd prefer a good mystery or a historical fiction. But I'm giving this book a chance because of all the good reviews.
Story opens with Jameela in a robe en route for the Conclave, she is clearly in a bad position and low on the totem pole, it is not immediately evident that she is going to sold as a slave. In fact I found the beginning hard to follow as we are thrown into this fantasy world with little description of setting or social mores. She has been 'trained' by a genetically modified man (read: sexually impotent eunuch) Lord Dagan Kiel who is the Master Trainer of the Conclave. Dagan is preparing Jameela to become some sort of sex slave for the Brotherhood at Lalssu.
Let's take a break here from all the weird names, places and fantasy culture to take a minute and let it all soak in. This was just a bit too weird for me with out some sort of introduction at this point to the culture. What is surprising is that the story get even stranger with an introduction of vampire-like parasite neighbors that attack the Master's kingdom and then kidnap Dagan.
I did like the twin and mythological aspects of this story that was original and I liked the logic although it was a little too perfect for a HEA, but I guess that is why this is 'romance' literature... although I would classify this erotic fantasy because there is a lot of sexy time with multiple pairings and twin sharing with partners although they get 'married'.

Set in a medieval world, Lord Dagan Kiel goes to a slave auction and buys Jameela, a young virgin who has been sold after her father died and her brothers had no interest in her. He takes her back to the Keep where he begins to train her before she is presented to the Conclave where one of the Brotherhood can bid on her to be a consort or a wife.

I would have preferred to see more world building. I had the impression that all the women were brought to the Keep as slaves/servants, so I wondered about any children born there or if only male children were born there. One thing Jameela knows is once anyone enters the Keep, they are never seen again. And the twist halfway through the book was a shock – suddenly vampires were part of the story. There were hints of a good story, but too much was going on with too few details so I felt disappointed in the end.

How would you feel if you were purchased and trained to be the perfect lover? If you answered no, then you might have to talk yourself into reading this book... but if you initial reaction is, oh yes... then I can guarantee you'll enjoy what Charlotte has to offer.

This was a pleasant suprise. It took a turn around a little more than half ways and I was suprised to see it go there but it was not bad. I liked it and it will not be my last book from this author.

This story meandered a bit in the beginning....with pretty spicy erotica but unconvincing characters...then morphed into an interesting paranormal story about halfway through.
