I have some kind of weird obsession with Ree and Ladd. The book was given to me for my birthday. I devoured it. The recipes are at the end but it’s the story of when they met and goes through right after she had Alex. She is as neurotic as I am and I cackled through most of it, smiled like a big dummy through the rest of it, and am now packing my bags to go and get me a cowboy because prairies are where the ‘real’ men are it seems. Bye 👋🏻

It was really fun to read about her love story when I had just traveled on County Roads in Pawhuska so I could really picture the vastness of it all.

I read this on Ree's blog before it came out as a book. So my review is based on that. I'm sure the book isn't that much different.

I loved this story. The romance was sweet, the plot enhanced by knowing it was real, and the writing was humorous. The two characters that were completely opposite falling in love was the perfect backdrop to set the scene for Ree moving to the ranch. Would definitely read this book if you are a fan of Pioneer Woman since it will give you a bit of background on her.

She’s a gifted writer capable of making readers feel a full range of emotions and her love story is breathtaking. I’m an English major and picky reader, so the fact that I’m giving a Ree Drummond book (one my mother in law gave to me while on vacation ) four stars is a shock to me and a testament to how enjoyable the read.

I loved this story! The road to finding true love can be full of many bumps and potholes, as indeed it was for Ree and Ladd. It is the tears and the laughter, though, that make the ride worthwhile when you know you’ve got the right one riding by your side. A beautifully well written, highly entertaining, and hilarious story, with, of course, a HEA.

Excellent read of her life of western city girl to country ranch girl with humor added in. Glorious book. I highly recommend to buy and keep.

Loved this honest memoir and the romance between the two. Such a different book and felt more personal than most memoirs. The only part that I didn’t like was where it ended - I felt that the first baby was part of a chapter for the rest of their kids and I was hoping to get insight into her later success but that wasn’t covered. Still loved it and recommend!

My daughter and I have always loved Ree's shows, collecting her merch and trying out her recipes. To read this book was a wonderful experience. I loved getting to know her and how she lived the beginning part of her life and how she met her cowboy! Cannot wait to see what is in store next!

The Pioneer Woman taught me to cook through her cookbooks and tv show. I’ve adored her from when I discovered her cookbooks. This love story is absolutely adorable. I devoured the entire thing. She has such a fun writing style and knows how to tell a great story.

I read the first 95 pages and could not finish. I am a fan of Ree Drummond, but I cannot get through her writing. Spoiler alert: she completely lost me when she ran over her dog and didn't even bother to go with her Mother to the vet.

I absolutely adore Ree Drummond. Her personality on her cooking show is what captivated me and got me into cooking ultimately. Even if I wasn't interested in learning new recipes, I would watch the show just because of how much joy she radiates. Not to mention her adorable style! All things Pioneer Woman are my happy place. My husband purchased this book for me for Christmas and it is more than I could have hoped. I didn't know it was possible to capture ones personality so well while telling about their life. I was so invested in the story the entire time and I have never laughed this much reading a book. The story of Ree and Ladd reminds me a lot of mine and my husbands, who nickname is "cowboy". As soon as I finished this book, I rushed to see if there were any other books she had written and foung Frontier Follies and had to buy it immediately. Ree, please write more books! I have been in a reading slump for years now and your book is the reason I have now gotten back into reading and can't seem to put the books down, which also sucks because I read them too fast and you don't have any more books for me to read!

Actually read this book when it was originally published. I recall it came off way too sophomore-ish. I really love her cookbooks and her TV show but this I did not.
