On a mission of mercy (?) Rick leaves the group; very bad idea! Tyreese would be a great second in command - but he is dealing with some life changing sorrow. Allen is still on a downward spiral and the four 'prisoners' are still an unknown factor. Rick! Don't leave! Too late- the 'fhit hit the san'!

I know that Rick shot Julie so that she would not bite Tyreese or anyone else, but I wish that Tyreese had done it. I feel like he would get closure that way.

I do not like that he killed Chris. I can not blame Tyreese for being pissed off and upset, his daughter is dead and just came back as a zombie, but for him to kill Chris, I think it was a bit much.

Just like Hershel lost it when his children died, Tyreese has lost it now that Julie has died. I did not think that Tyreese would actually kill Chris, but apparently he did.

I do not understand why Rick lied to the rest of the group. The only reason I could think of that he would lie to the group, would be so that they do not kick Tyreese out.

Yeah, Tyreese smiling at Rick was creepy as hell. I have a feeling that Tyreese is going to go out and do something crazy now. Because no one would be okay after what happened with Julie and Chris.

It is about time they figured out that you do not have to be bitten to turn into a zombie. I have been feeling this whole time like it is taking them way too long to figure this out.

I can not help but laugh at Glenn and Maggie, so focused on having sex all the time. I have a feeling that Maggie will end up getting pregnant and then the group will be screwed by having not just one crying baby, but two now.

Oh Lori, shut the fuck up. I am SO tired of your bitching and complaining about every little thing. I bet Rick is going back to make sure that Shane, the dude you turned psycho, stays dead. Dumb bitch.

GO RICK! I was cheering him on when he was talking to zombie Shane. He should have put a bullet in that fucker's head a LONG time ago.

Holy shit! Who the hell cut off the heads of Hershel's twin daughters? The poor guy has already been through enough with losing his other kids from before. Bet it was one of those psycho prisoners.

The Walking Dead Issue #15 left me F.R.E.A.K.I.N.G S.H.O.C.K.E.D and emotionally rattled in more ways than one. The devastation Tyreese endures after the suicide pact between Chris and Julie is absolutely heartbreaking. Watching him choke Chris to death in a fit of rage was brutal, but I couldn't help feeling for him—he just lost his daughter in the most senseless way possible. I’m deeply worried about Tyreese’s mental state after everything that happened, though he tries to maintain a facade of being okay. His casual, almost cheerful behavior after burning Julie and Chris’s bodies is unnerving, and I can’t help but feel that he’s repressing his grief. It’s only a matter of time before everything catches up with him.

The group is beginning to handle day-to-day life well, establishing routines similar to the ones they had back on Hershel’s farm. Despite the eerie calm of their new surroundings, the constant tension of danger keeps me on edge. There’s still an unspoken threat hanging over them, and it’s hard to ignore the sense of impending doom.

Lori continues to be frustrating. Her complaints about Rick leaving are getting more frequent, and it’s annoying how she seems ungrateful for everything Rick does to keep the group alive. Rick is clearly trying to hold everything together, protect everyone, and make tough decisions. Yet Lori criticizes him for being absent and for taking on the burden of leadership. I get that she’s under a lot of stress, but her negativity is grating.

Now, let’s talk about the ending. I’m F.R.E.A.K.I.N.G S.H.O.C.K.E.D by what Hershel finds at the end of the issue—the decapitated heads of Rachel and Susie. I gasped out loud when I saw that scene. The sight of their severed heads was horrific, and I can’t begin to imagine the grief and terror Hershel must have felt. What makes it worse is the mystery behind their deaths. Who did this? Why? It’s a nightmare I didn’t see coming, and it leaves me terrified for what’s going to happen next. The prison was supposed to be a safe haven, but now, it feels more dangerous than ever.

The issue begins with a gut-wrenching moment. Tyreese, still trying to comprehend Julie’s death, holds her close as she reanimates. Rick urges him to let her go so he can put her down for good. But before Rick can act, Chris shoots Julie in the head, ending her suffering. What follows is one of the most brutal moments in the series so far—Tyreese, overwhelmed with rage and grief, grabs Chris and chokes him to death. Even when Rick tells him Chris is dead, Tyreese coldly says that Chris will come back, and he’ll kill him again, this time slower. It’s chilling to witness, and Rick leaves Tyreese to process his emotions in his own way.

The next morning, Rick finds Tyreese burning the bodies of Julie and Chris. Their conversation is short, but Tyreese, disturbingly cheerful, suggests they get back to work inside the prison. Rick, clearly worried, asks if Tyreese is okay, but Tyreese insists he’s fine. It’s unsettling how quickly he puts on this mask of normalcy, and Rick, deeply concerned, tells Lori to keep an eye on him.

Rick has something heavy on his mind. He confides in Lori that after witnessing Julie and Chris reanimate without being bitten, he’s come to a horrifying conclusion: everyone is infected, and no matter how they die, they will return as walkers. It’s a revelation that shakes him to the core. Without explaining further, Rick leaves the prison on a motorcycle, determined to deal with this unsettling truth.

Meanwhile, back at the prison, Glenn and Maggie explore their new surroundings, finding moments of intimacy amidst the chaos. They discover a barbershop and decide to have a little fun by cutting each other’s hair, a rare lighthearted moment in the midst of the apocalypse. Their relationship is a bright spot in an otherwise grim situation, but the tension in the prison continues to build.

As Rick rides out on the highway, narrowly avoiding zombies, the group in the prison goes about their tasks. Hershel works on marking the area for his garden with the help of his daughters, Rachel and Susie. Meanwhile, Tyreese, Glenn, Andrea, and Billy enter the gym to clear out walkers. Tyreese, still clearly not in a stable place mentally, recklessly throws himself into danger, separating from the group and getting surrounded by walkers. His suicidal behavior is alarming, and it leaves us fearing for his fate.

Rick’s destination is soon revealed—he returns to the site where Shane is buried. Armed with a shovel, Rick digs up Shane’s grave, and when Shane reanimates, Rick’s worst fears are confirmed. He delivers a final, somber goodbye to his former best friend, acknowledging the complexity of their relationship before shooting Shane in the head. It’s a deeply symbolic moment for Rick, as it marks both his acceptance of the infection and his need for closure. He leaves Shane’s body behind, choosing not to rebury him, which speaks volumes about how far Rick has come since Shane’s death.

As Rick confronts his demons, the true horror of the issue unfolds back at the prison. Hershel, searching for Rachel and Susie, stumbles upon the barbershop and finds their decapitated heads. It’s a grisly, horrifying discovery that leaves him—and the reader—in shock. The issue ends on this terrifying cliffhanger, with no answers about who killed Hershel’s daughters or why. It’s a chilling reminder that the danger in this world isn’t just from the undead, but also from those within their own group.

Issue #15 delivers some of the most emotionally intense and horrifying moments in The Walking Dead so far. Tyreese’s grief, Rick’s growing sense of responsibility, and the shocking deaths of Rachel and Susie create a dark, heavy atmosphere that lingers long after the issue ends. The group is dealing with more than just walkers—they’re dealing with their own demons and the realization that the infection is inside all of them.

I’m left shocked by the events that unfolded, especially with Tyreese’s fate hanging in the balance and the mystery of Rachel and Susie’s murder left unresolved. The series is taking a darker turn, and I’m both dreading and eagerly anticipating what’s coming next. The prison, which was supposed to be a safe haven, is now a breeding ground for fear, suspicion, and death.

After the shocking cliff-hanger of #14 the gang come to the realisation that you don’t have to be bit to return as a walker. The prison gang get to know each other better whilst Rick attends to business outside of the gates. The ending of this issue must be one of the most shocking, we at least have Tyreese clearing out the gym which has to be some of my favourite panels in TWD as Adlard proves he has full control of the zombie carnage by this point. Speaking of Adlard he creates a dark and sombre atmosphere around the prison; the new colour doesn’t really add anything to this but at least doesn’t take away from the spirit of the original ink work.

Being a huge fan of the show, I wanted to see how the original writing started and how the show writers followed and deviated from the comics. My dislikes were that the comics are much more crude, crass, and unnecessarily violent. I did like the change in relationships and how people worked together differently, and the comics have a different creepiness feel than you get watching it on TV. Overall, I prefer the show, and probably will not finish out the comic book series.

This is a review of the entire series.

Rick Grimes is a strong-willed deputy who missed the end of the world because he was in a coma for a month after getting shot in the line of duty. Shaken, starving and confused, Rick escapes the horror of the abandoned hospital only to be met with something far more terrible. Not only has the world ended, but the dead have learned to walk and to kill without mercy. After learning that his wife and son have fled to Atlanta from a single survivor and his son, Rick goes on a journey to reunite with his family and search for more survivors.

Rick quickly has to come to terms with the fact that the world has ended and only a select few survived. The dead have risen from their graves and they prey on the living. In a world where every minute feels like hours, where there's no such thing as law and order, where finding a small meal is a tremendous task, the walking dead are quite possibly the least threatening thing for the survivors to have on their breaking minds. Humanity is pushed to the brink of destruction, forcing them to embrace their cruel and primal nature in order to survive. Sometimes you have to be more concerned about who you let into your community so they don't kill you in your sleep and steal everything you once cared about. Rick has no choice but to abandon the ways of law and order that he's upheld as an officer for so long in order to protect the few loved ones he has left. He has to become a monster to protect his crew or risk being devoured by those who became more monstrous than him and even the walking dead.

Despite zombies running the world and having the series named after them, what really sets this series apart from the average zombie apocalypse tale is the focus on realism and the daily struggles, flaws and depth of the characters. There's plenty of badass zombie killing action, but the action often takes a back seat to give the characters plenty of times to share their extremely tragic yet endearing stories, grow through mutual suffering and learn to adapt to a world that has left them to die. Even after the world has ended, many people still can't see eye to eye. They turn on each other and kill each other when they should come together. Others form alliances in spite of their differences and try to rebuild over the corpse of everything that was lost. The daily human drama and conflict is more intense than any monster apocalypse could hope to be.

We watch Rick struggle to balance his old moral code with the many necessary evils he has to commit in order to survive and make the world a better place for the ones he holds close. We watch people like Glen, Dale and Maggie attempt to find love in spite of having every reason to be filled with fear, hate and self-loathing. Characters like Michonne have to learn how to forgive themselves and convince themselves they deserve to be loved despite all the blood on their hands. We watch the weak like Carl and Andrea become strong and sometimes the strong become evil like The Governor. Even monsters like the wicked yet oddly lovable Negan are given the chance to find new ways of redeeming themselves by struggling alongside the other survivors that have all been changed by the horrors of the fallen world.

The pacing is extremely slow and I can understand why that may be a turnoff for a lot of people, but I eventually learned to enjoy watching the characters grow, overcome their trauma, find meaning in life and learn to love again. The characters are forced to do many terrible things to survive and it haunts them every waking moment. The ways they overcome these regrets is very realistic, human and hopeful. The slow pacing really gives the feeling that we're living beside these people. The way every tiny detail of their lives and who they are is explored makes them feel very real and believable.

When I first started reading the series, I wasn't expecting it to have such an uplifting ending. It seemed so bleak and nihilistic for a long time and things would go horribly wrong even when they seemed to be going so well, but the finale channels all the pain, suffering and betrayal of the previous volumes and tops it off with a very touching and inspiring finish. This was never a story about hopelessness. It's about learning to appreciate the little things, learning to forgive yourself and learning to move on even when it's hard. When everything seems lost there's always more to be found, even when we believe otherwise because we convince ourselves that we don't deserve to be happy ever again. Instead of dwelling on what was lost, strive to try and make things better than they were before.

I've never been a huge fan of zombie apocalypse stories, but The Walking Dead had enough heart and strong social commentary to make me stick by the characters until the end and I enjoyed every moment of their long trial.

Wow x3. Estoy en shock, de nuevo. ¿Robert Kirkman, qué tienes con terminar cada número con una muerte, ah? Amo a Glenn y Maggie. Son tan bellos. Lori, al igual que en la serie, es una tonta.

Ooooph, this was a good one. Probably my favourite one so far.
Tyreese basically going crazy with his hammer, taking out zombies like some sort of deranged hulk, Rick travelling all the way back to Shane's 'resting' place to shoot his zombie ass. As much as I loved Shane in the show, I think I'd like to have seen that played out on screen; Rick realising you don't need to get bit to turn into a zombie, him lying awake thinking that Shane is out there in his re-animated state, Rick travelling all the way back then wondering if Shane would have done the same for him.
The ending though, such gruesomeness. I'm going to be honest, I forgot who those two little girls were (twins?) I assume they're Hershel's since he found them beheaded and he's distraught. But I thought they were Allen's kids, didn't he have twins? This is what happens when you don't read the comics for a few weeks, you forget who's who and what's what. I'm sure the next issue will tell me but damn, such a great issue with a horrific heading.

I’m SHOCKED at this issue.

*spoilers*

Poor Hershel Greene. To be honest, I’m actually a bit of the opinion that the girls’ decapitation was…in poor taste for complete shock value? Hm, I’m shocked but I can see why this was originally in black and white greytone, because after a little bit I had to cover up the image while I read the reader letters. Insane. Cannot wait to find out who did it.

Most likely the bug inmate with the face tattoo but maybe that’s too obvious. After this, Hershel only has three kids living. Awful stuff. Kirkman pulls no punches.

Tyreese kills Chris after Chris killed Julia and honestly? I’m not surprised.

We lost TYREESE this early in the series? He lost all will after losing his daughter but just wasn’t showing it? He was an anchor of the crew. Wow.

Rick driving back to the original camp to confirm a theory about the zombies was very interesting, and also give some bit of insight into his character, and of course this universe’s rules.

Murder/Suicide pact fails. Discovery that you don't have to be bitten to become part of the Walking Dead. Because Rick's a good guy he wants to make sure that Shane is really dead and not just buried alive. Meanwhile there is a killer among the group when Hershel's twin daughters are murdered - is it a convict or one of their own? Exciting story going on and hard to put down!.

Excellent. I'm really glad they decided to re-release the color series in bi-weekly issues. I'm loving it, I think I might be liking even more than I did the first time around. The color combined with all the little details that I have forgot about almost make The Walking Dead Deluxe like reading a whole new series. The Cutting Room Floor stuff at the back of each issue are a fantastic bonus as well.

This ended in a cliffhanger!
Overall it was a good single issue, lots of drama.
Although some of Rick's decision are borderline stupid when you think about the context of their world and him leaving without telling ANYONE where he's going to go.

The epic tale of survival continues. It seems that there's no need to be bitten to turn into a zombie. With this horrible though in mind, Rick leaves the prison to settle the score with an old friend. Rick is on a mission. He's got a long road ahead of him and many obstacles in his way, but he's determined. There's a lot resting on his shoulders. He cannot fail. He must not fail. Too much depends on it. But things in the prison are far from good. Tyreese is dealing with the death of his daughter and something terrible happens with Hershel's kids.

The Best. The cover by Tony Moore. Oh my god!!!! That cover is so amazing. If I can ever get a cover and have it framed on my wall or even just a poster of a cover this would be the issue I would pick. Rick on a motorcycle with his guns. As for the rest of the issue goes, another issue packed with walker deaths and now a murder mystery.

The Worst. The murder mystery. Is it just me or does anyone else just find it morbid that the murder mystery happens right where Glenn and Maggie were just together..... I mean come on. Now if I was Maggie every time I thought about having my hair cut and being with Glenn would make me think of that event. I would love to see that page in color though. Its pretty bad ass and brutal with that way it is in gray tones but to see it in color would just be almost to much.

The Differences. The major differences would have to be the factor that the group finds out about everyone coming back from death whether their bitten or not at the CDC. That whole event story line only takes place inside the TV series. Maggie and Glenn don't cut their hair but they do sneak off around the prison to be together secretly. And the whole murder mystery doesn't happen because at the time the inmates are only down to two in number and of course the obvious reason being that only two of Hershel's children are at the prison. Maggie, who is also in the comics, and Beth, who is only apart of the TV series.

Those Remembered. Walker Julie, who was turned after Chris shot her on a failed attempted suicide pact. Chris, who was murder/beaten/strangled to death by Tyreese after the loss of his daughter, Julie. Rachel and Susie, twin sisters and daughters of Hershel, who were found murdered in the barbershop.

Recommend. To any fan of The Walking Dead Universe, zombies, horror dramas, prison shows, and murder mysteries.

Good fucking god, this comic is really starting to pick up. So much happened in this issue. Rick went back and killed Shane ... again. Turns out, as soon as you die (bitten or not) you turn into a zombie. I wonder if people dead and buried before whatever caused this started are now liable to rise. People who were embalmed might be immune. Also, I wonder if this is going to have any implications with the pregnancy. If the baby dies in Lori's womb ... it might eat it's way out. That would be a true horror--and not something I would put past Kirkman at this point.

Speaking of Lori, I am not sure I like how "emotional" she is getting from this pregnancy. It seems a bit extreme. Though, I suppose, under the circumstances, she would be feeling extreme emotions. I don't know. I guess what I am feeling is ... she's one of two female characters that I can think of that are left. We had a few more for a second, but they've just died. Hershel's girls. I know there is at least one badass woman to come ... there really needs to be more though. I crave diversity.

Tyreese seems like a lost cause. He is surrounded by zombies the last time we see him in this issue. He is trying to clean out the gym with Andrea and whatshisface. Things are looking pretty bleak with him. He is handling his daughter's death by not handling it. I'd be a little surprised if he died here. Judging by the fact he had an origin story written in the Free Comic Book Day issue makes me think he's a long-time character. Perhaps this assumption is wrong. I'll have to keep reading to find out.

La historia épica de supervivencia continúa. Rick Grimes está en una misión. Él tiene un largo camino por delante de él y muchos obstáculos en su camino, pero está decidido. Hay mucho que descansa sobre sus hombros. Él no puede fallar. Él no debe fallar. Demasiado depende de ello. En esta entrega, la 15 no hay nada especialmente importante salvo al final...al final sucede un echo que nos dejará a todos y a todas de piedra ¿ quién les ha echo eso? ¡ A por el siguiente cómic!

Instead of Tyreese getting mad/crazy about Karen's death (in show). It's Julie's death that sends him over the deep end.

Otis and Patricia have broken up.

Maggie cuts her hair really short.

Glenn shaves his head.

Rick goes back to Atlanta Camp to watch Shane rise from his grave.

Hershel's little girls are dead.

The intensity was kicked up a notch in this issue, and not just an increase in violence, although this was probably the most violent issue to date. The first real questions of morality and ethics in a post apocalyptic society were brought up, adding a huge kick to the normal character driven dare.
