Matthew's girlfriend breaks up with him on a flimsy excuse, one he decides can't be true. She's sure he wants their mutual best friend Aaron and has for a long time. To further complicate the friendship that means everything to him, she's putting ideas into Aaron's head too. Now, the two men who are as close as brothers are alone together, awkward, and nervous about admitting to each other and themselves just how right Abbey is.
Eden Cole has been creating stories in her head since she was a small child. Love and romance, sensual pleasures find their voice in her erotic stories of romance. Fantasy, paranormal and science fiction are her favorite genres to write in.
This story was heading for a two star rating from the start. The premise was silly, the plot was unrealistic and illogical, the execution was awkward, the dialogues were stilted and the characters were totally one dimensional (and I kept forgetting who was who because both men are exactly the same). But then I got to the last page. And the oh-so-in-love boy (forgot which one) told his buddy/lover/love of his life that he was happy eventhough his feelings were unnatural and he still digged women too... *sigh* And there it lost a star. I know it's a freebie short, but it doesn't mean quality goes out the window. Is this the best Cole can do?
probably would have given 3.5 stars except the end when he said loving a man was unnatural and weird and he still desired woman so he would continue fucking his friend and women
I was really bored with the story and the characters. They were so bland and uninteresting that I just could not connect or feel anything for either of the guys.
Could have been a great deal better than it was. There was a great deal of yelling and resentment between them and when they decide to give it a go they jump immediately into anal-penetration sex. For two adult completely straight men, I would have expected a little bit more in the way of adjustment. Not to mention the fact that by the end [page 15] they were both professing their love to one another and ... well. Yeah.
I really liked this book. It's well-written and one of the most sexually charged books I've read in a long time. I think it's lack of popularity has to do with it being a short story. Yes they get over their issues quick, but that fits with the story. With the ever increasing sexual tension between them who would want to stop and ponder "what could this all mean"? Just strip already!
Matthew's girlfriend dumped him, using an excuse that can not be true. No way is he in love with his best friend, Aaron. But when she talks to Aaron, putting the same idea in his head, could this be the end of their friendship? Or could Matthew's ex be right?
AVOID! Let me state this again in case you missed it. AVOID!
*sigh* I don't think I have ever written a review using that word before... and probably never will again...
Anyway, now I have that out of my system, I can tell you why to avoid this. While this was a fast read (read it in about ten to fifteen minutes), there was something (pardon the pun) stiff about it. It never felt right. It felt, dare I say it, the outline of a bad porn movie. There was no quality in the writing or how the story went forward.
And the last page. Right, ok, am going to spoil this for you now but the two characters are together after having sexual intercourse, Aaron has confessed that he's in love with Matthew (after realising that he could be gay the PREVIOUS night!) and Matthew, while having enjoyed the sex, says that he's not ready to "come out of the closet" yet he stills "desire women". He can't imagine Aaron being with anyone else or imagining his life without him, yet he says it's "weird and unnatural" when he said "I love you" to Aaron. I'm sorry, but what? If Matthew comes out as bi, fine. I would have accepted that (kinda) but everything else he said, I felt like he was going "Well, I want my cake and I'm gonna eat it."
You can't say "I love you" then say "It feels weird and unnatural" to say that. You can't say "I'm not saying I'm ready for a relationship" then say "I can't think of you being with anyone else". If Matthew wants a relationship with Aaron, SAY IT! If Matthew wanted to have Aaron as a Friend With Benefits, SAY IT! If it was a mistake, SAY IT! Don't contradict yourself several sentences later!!!
I guessing that the author was trying to do a "Happy In The Moment" ending. And it fell flat!
Again, if you see this, RUN AWAY FROM IT! DON'T CLICK THAT "PURCHASE" BUTTON!

So I'd probably really rate this at 2.5 stars but since there's nothing really objectionable about it I'll round it up. See I've tried to get into this author's writing, and while the story here is kinda cute as soon as the guys actually admit they like each other everything starts to go downhill for me. Somehow things felt clunky and awkward in the prose.
I love the idea, two best friends that spend every night talking to each other on the phone even when they're in a relationship. Matthew and Aaron don't think anything of it, but when Matthew's girlfriend breaks up with him she tells him that it's because he has feelings for Aaron. He denies it, but the more he thinks about it the more he can't stop thinking about it. A similar phone call to Aaron sends him spinning as well.
This was cute, but their is no diversity between the characters, I often struggled to remember which character was which. The have the same voice. Then for two guys who claim to have never thought about having sex with a guy let alone each other when they cross the line it takes very little thought, and apparently one needs no experience to be awesome sucking and fucking. The entire sex scene felt very unrealistic and awkward to me.
I'm giving the extra little bit here for the potential and that I didn't hate it. It's hard to put together a complete story in such a short space of pages, and that the author does do well. I'm happy with where she leaves things. The guys admit they are in love with each other, but they don't suddenly jump into screaming it to the world. That would have been over the top for two guys who claim to have no idea what they're doing.
The biggest reason this isn’t rated any higher is because it’s TOO SHORT! It literally took maybe 10 minutes to finish, if that. I think I could see myself loving it if it were a full book because I absolutely loved the MCs – they were hot! I loved that they were honest and blunt with each other but both also showed some vulnerability. Also, their friendship really showed and I love “friends to lovers” stories – but the end only provided a HFN since after Aaron declared he was IN LOVE with Matthew, Matthew had to go and say I love you too. I’m not just saying that. It feels weird and unnatural, but it’s true. I can’t think of you being with anyone else. I’m not saying I’m ready for a relationship exactly. And I’m definitely not ready to ‘come out of the closet’. I still desire women. But I want to be with you more. Doh! *face palm* There’s like 4 strikes in there! Oh Matthew…*SMH*

SUMMARY
This book is 16 pages so it is what it is. It’s hard to develop a story in such a short time. The set up is unrealistic. I’m not saying it couldn’t happen or be someone’s fantasy but it was a bit out there. However, once you get passed that, I must say it was pretty hot. So if you’re looking for an erotica nibble, this might be your book. Might be interesting though if the author fleshed out the story a bit more. Give more background and why we could believe this would happen. In the end, it was a quick free read. What’s to knock about that?
Two guys known each other a long time, both straight but suddenly gay for each other after ex girlfriend of one tells them both that's what they really want deep down ? Sorry, but because this is so short a story that premise just doesn't work and the fact that a few hours after they are kissing and making out then, a few days later these two ' straight ' men , who even at the end of the story won't admit they are gay, are having pretty hardcore gay sex, felt too far fetched! Possibly if this had been a longer length then the author could have done something to make it more believable but at this stage its definitely more miss than hit. Free but deleted.
Matthew's girlfriend just broke up with him telling him she's knows he loves his best friend Aaron. Abby then calls Aaron and gets him thinking. Both Matthew and Aaron are attracted to each other, been best friends since childhood but now don't know how to tell each other. This is a really quick 'story' of two male best friends who admit their attraction to one another and experienment feeling each other out on this new development.
This was a freebie from Amazon and I enjoyed it for what it was. Quick, sexy, and honest. But I cannot give more than 2 stars for it due to how short the lenght was.
Short freebie story. Found it quite unrealistic - 2 best friends, both straight, realising they are in love with each other after 15 years, taking 1 day to decide to have sex and then going 'all the way' quite comfortably. The writing and characters were ok but it hard to develop the characters when the story is so short (a lot covered in only 16 pages)
A short story about best buds falling for each other and recognizing their physical attraction to each other that boarders the line between erotica and erotic romance. The author spent equal attention on the relationship and the sex. I liked it.
the premise started out okay actually went somewhere I didn't initially expect but I didn't catch any difference on the two men they dressed the same wanted the same looked the same and love everywhere
I liked every word of this book. I found. It arousing and romantic, and also heartwarming. A great read that made it seem like I was part of Matthew and Aaron. Well worth the time and reminded me of my friendship with my longtime best friend. Thank you.
