After a dangerous encounter with a malevolent spirit, Keitaro Gentoga wants nothing to do with the supernatural. Unfortunately for this reluctant ghost magnet, he’s stuck helping Yayoi Hozuki—a strange young girl who’s intent on capturing Japan’s most terrifying ghosts and ghouls.
It’s official—Keitaro and his childhood friend Eiko are an item! Unfortunately, there isn’t much time to celebrate their new relationship status as Yayoi sets her sights on a new spirit and Keitaro takes on a new pupil—an accident-prone high schooler with her own haunting secret.
Volume 3 has things really taking off. We see the crew going after some bigger baddies, and there is an introduction of a new character that adds a larger threat to the mix. I enjoyed it a lot and look forward to the story continuing.
Just when I thought, it couldn't get much creepier,.. Well done Kenichi Kondo! My compliments to you! The story keeps getting better and better! I look forward to buying and reading more of your series d(°∀°d)
What starts out as hunting creepy ghosts in the classic location that is a haunted tunnel somehow turns into protecting a new character from the ghost that hijacks brains as balloons and a creepy stalker god. Yep, our supernatural has escalated from ghost straight to god. Which sparks the question of "Is the main spirit that Yayoi is searching for stronger than a god?"
Listen. This is a solid series. The characters and the storyline are a thing of beauty. The only reason I don't rate it higher is the art. Now, I don't hate the art. It is good. But...in the horror manga genre, it's going to be compared to Junji Ito and Parasyte for me. And the art and stories in those are better. Of course, Ito is the king of horror manga, but this is a stand out series for me. Got the next volume on the shelf and the one after that is preordered.
This series continues to be fun and super creepy! There are some terrifying ghosts in this volume that genuinely unnerved me. We also get introduced to a new character, Ai, and her spooky dilemma with a God stalking her. I can't wait to see where the story goes from here.
This series just keeps getting better. The story has taken a serious turn with them being up against a god. We also have an introduction to Ai who is probably going to be a regular for awhile if the story keeps going like it is.
