An uneven selection of stories. Espionage is not clearly Dame Christie's strong suit despite some great characters that keep the story going. However, I did enjoy the story Ordeal by Innocence, which had a nice gothic vibe. The ending was a bit of a bummer for me but nonetheless, it was my favorite of the lot. A nice one-time read that is neither too bad and neither too great either.

Possibly one of my favourite collections, with Destination Unknown a decided favourite. The beauty of Christie is that she makes everything so plausible, I have no reason not to believe that everything she describes is not happening!,

I'm not so keen on political spy/thriller Christies - They Came to Baghdad, et al - post WWII - but Ordeal by Innocence was more traditional, with the stage set and the clues dropped from a cast of characters.

Loved it from the beginning to the end, AC's writing is among the cleverest in English detective fiction.

I think Agatha Christie should have just stuck to writing murder mysteries. Her spy thrillers, which i think the first two stories in this book are, aren't that great.
