Dragon School: Dusk Covenant (Dragon School #6) available for purchase on Amazon I have to admit I cheated a bit because I could not take the pressure, I waited to be in possession of the next book before I started reading this one. It was a good call but still, I am looking forward to the day when all the books are out and I can just re-read them all one after the other without breaks. The story is overwhelmingly gripping and addictive. The level of intrigue is increasing exponentially and Amel seems to be in the centre of it. It was quite fortunate that she crossed paths with Hubric and that she has him on her side. As yet again Rakturan comes to join the group, regardless of how much they try to keep him away, he becomes an essential part of it. The group is facing enormous challenges and dangers on their way to deliver the Dominar's message, Savette's condition being one of them, a dying white dragon that decided to bond himself with Rakturan being another. Oh, and did I mention that they are running for their lives? Fortunately, I had the next book to continue this amazing series, which is only getting better and more intense. Dragon School: First Message (Dragon School #7) available for purchase on Amazon And then came the most nerve wrecking book yet... fortunately, being the seventh book, I have resigned myself to crazy cliffhangers, this one being no different. I wanted to say it was the worst, but then I remembered the endings of the books three, four a and five. However, this particular ending is more personal than the others. So what was so different here? In the previous books, there were dangers, suspicions and challenges. There were also moments of peace and safety, or minimal comfort. In this book, there is none of those. If they were running for their lives in the previous book, they are running twice as fast now and there are no breaks. There is constant danger lurking somewhere. At all times. Nerve wrecking roller coaster of non-stop action. Amel, Hubric, Savette and Rakturan are still together, which is longest that any group Amel was part of was together. The group dynamics are quite interesting, as Amel and Hubric are getting more trusting of each other and a strange bond forms between Savette and Rakturan. More or less, there are no secrets left among four of them. Best of all, some of the secrets of dragon-rider communication and bonds are revealed. There are some sparse happy and bright moments in this book, however, the series is getting darker, more serious, more dangerous and more epic. Amel remains one of the most amazing characters ever, the one who never gives up even when all the odds are stacked against her. And Raolcan remains the most amazing dragon of all. Dragon School: Warring Promises (Dragon School #8) available for purchase on Amazon I find myself saying this is my favourite book, and this is the most intense book in the series, every time I finish the new one. No difference here. There is something different with this book though, and it is Amel, who lost her way for a moment. Amel decided that her feelings, or what matters to her most, is more important than her duty, her friends, or anything else. It was a bit unexpected at first, but quite understandable after the two life-changing messages she received in the previous book. She does come to her senses, as Hubric and Raolcan do not allow her to lose herself, and remind her of her duties. Amel and Hubric are bonding more like family than friends or apprentice and teacher. She is learning more about the Purples and their riders and gains more confidence. It almost feels like her leg is not even an issue any more. Every time I think that Raolcan could not be any more lovable, the story proves me wrong. I think that by now, anyone who has come to this point in the series has been wanting Raolcan for themselves. Story-wise, I have a feeling that this is the most informative book of all. The story covers much of the history and prophecies, and nicely rounds up the big picture. Most of the unknowns are explained and the story moves ahead full speed. The war is brewing on the horizon and the author concludes this installment with a bombastic revelation, or two. Dragon School: Prince of Dragons (Dragon School #9) available for purchase on Amazon This was a somewhat calmer book, I assumed before another storm. It also contains more romantic content than any of the previous stories. Amel and Leng met again and actually got to spend a short time together during the regrouping period after the dramatic events of the last book. Savette and Rakturan have a tough decision to make but ever since the life-changing events in Vanika, several books ago, they present a united front and come up with a creative solution for some of their challenges. Amel is left to her own devices and no other support than that of her fiercely loyal dragon. She has grown and developed skills and she is holding her own. That is quite fortunate, because as I assumed towards the end of the book, crazy action resumes and Amel and her friends are once again tossed into the mercy of circumstances. This story gives more insight into the world of dragons and reveals some interesting facts about Raolcan. The author finishes this story with the most shocking ending yet, and the appearance of one special person will put any doubts to rest whether the war is coming. Dragon School: Dark Night (Dragon School #10) available for purchase on Amazon As the reader slowly recovers from the shocking revelations of the previous story, friends are being united, new friendships forged, and betrayals discovered in the highest echelons of the Dominion. As it is no surprise, Amel, Savette and Hubric, joined by several interesting new characters, are once again running and fighting for their lives. And Dominar is there again, in person! He is one mysterious and fascinating character and I hope we get to know him better. War is raging by now, as our heroes are stuck in a situation that seems unsolvable. Raolcan keeps his wonderful sense of humour and keeps Amel going, not that she needs much encouragement. That girl's bravery became legendary and here willingness to help others is humbling. This is the most somber story of all, and as usual, this story ends on a nerve wrecking cliffhanger and if you cannot bear it, wait for the next book, as this one was really bad. I will probably pull out all of my hair waiting for the next book to see what happens next. Again, I cannot emphasise enough how fabulous this series is.
I’m not usually a fan of sequel series, where we get short snippets at regular intervals, as I much prefer to sit and devour one big book. In the case of the Dragon School series, however, I was more than happy to consume each book as it was released. Despite this, I do believe you get a much better experience if you read the combined editions so you get to enjoy the story back-to-back. With this second collection, you get books six through ten to enjoy.
Dragon School: Sword, book five, was another brilliant read, adding more to the series – it was also the book that reminded me why I was following the series in the first place, pulling me back in after a short hiatus. Dragon School: Dusk Covenant, book six, added plenty of new twists – more than enough to ensure I remained ensnared with the story. Dragon School: First Message, book seven, brought even more to the table – more was added to the storyline, plenty of things leaving me curious as to what would come next. Dragon School: Warring Promises, book eight, left on a serious cliff-hanger – all the books leave on a cliff-hanger, but this was probably the biggest of them all. Dragon School: Prince of Dragons, book nine, was one of my least favourites in the series, but it continued to move things forward for us. Dragon School: Dark Night, book ten, was one of my favourites in the series, increasing the level of intensity and leaving us with so many expectations.
Upon finishing this collection, you’ll be more than happy to dive into book eleven to see what comes next.
Wow, this is a great series. Between the action and suspense you don't want to put it down. I just feel bad for the people and dragons that die in the battles. Look forward to reading the next books.
Evil lurks everywhere... And it wants to destroy Amel and everything she loves...
Another captivating read in this series!
The heroine is becoming a fighter - a real bada** but she has some complications, of course - a choice between choosing friends or loyalty to the Dominion?
Wow - that ending left me speechless as well as relived. Thank god! Even though those last chapters left my heart beating so fast that it felt like it was coming out of my chest, it was just so damn good and interesting.
Full of dragons, dragon riders, magic, action, adventure, enemies, secrets, prophecies, danger, shadows and demons.
Perfect for readers of fantasy reads.
First Message
A great, enjoyable read!
Truth lies beneath the surface...
A really enjoyable and lovable read and series. Truly fantastic.
Two things have become annoying for me: Whenever somebody tells the heroine something she never listens/pay attention to it properly and then she questions it when her dragon or someone else explains it properly because she still does not listen. Sure, of course, you have to question stuff because sometimes you can't trust their intentions etc but I honestly do not know how to explain it but she has gotten annoying. When the truth is right there in front of her face, she still questions it - annoying. Second, when she asks questions or talks to her dragon, she doesn't ask him directly, always in the third person - the dragon even snapped at her for this in the first book but she still talks to him like that. Yes, I understand sometimes she asks questions to herself and then he hears and answers her because he knows it but the rest of the time, speak to him directly!
Overall, it is enjoyable. I hope it gets better and this two annoying habits are solved as we progress through the books.
Full of dragons, dragon riders, messages, magic, good versus evil, action, enemies, prophecies and adventure.
Perfect for readers of fantasy reads.
Warring Promises
A promising read!
Promises are great... Until you have to choose which ones to honour....
Wow...the things that happen in this book! My word! Things are definitely heating up!
Promises are made...loyalties are made...the stakes are higher than ever before...
I devoured this book - could not get enough of it. What an amazing book that reinstated my love and joy of this series.
Full of dragons, dragon riders, secrets, ancient prophecies, enemies, loyalty, battle and promises.
Perfect for readers of fantasy romance.
Prince of Dragons
A heated read!
Will the last light fade from the Dominion?
A brilliant follow-up to the previous book. The dragon is full of surprises and secrets but the mystery makes for a great hooking factor! Looking forward to learning more about him.
Things are definitely heating up - so many things is happening - destruction, evil that has out to play and enemies within the Dominion. So interesting and intriguing to watch everything unfold and play out...
Full of dragons, dragon riders, secrets, ancient prophecies, enemies, loyalty, battle, darkness, evil and promises.
Perfect for readers of fantasy romance.
Dark Night
A dark read!
It’s always blackest before the dawn...
Wow...things are heating up - a traitor is the mist and the demons are after them. Such an incredible story and a fantastic addition to the series.
One problem: I have mentioned it before but it became dominant in this book again: the MC is really annoying at times. At times, she really is likable and enjoyable.
The writing is amazing and addicting! The world is complex and fascinating.
Full of dragons, dragon riders, secrets, ancient prophecies, enemies, loyalty, battle, darkness, evil, action, hope, survival, trust, danger and suspicion.
Dragon School: Dusk Covenant is Book 6 in this new and exciting young adult fantasy adventure. Things are heating up and Amel keeps getting thrust into the middle of it all. She never gives up a challenge even when learning how to fight and defend with one good leg, which leaves her in physical agony each night. It's another page-turner story with plenty of interesting characters and dangerous adventures. This time around the ending is satisfactory, but you will want to keep coming back for more!
Dragon School: First Message is Book 7. Amel is growing in her role as a trainee dragon rider. She's apprenticed to the best. But the good guys are few and the bad guys keep getting stronger. There's one princess of light and one of darkness. Then danger gets too close to Amel and threatens the one she loves. This is a quick read with a cliffhanger ending!
Dragon School: Warring Promises is Book 8. Amel can't hide behind her trainee status as the war forces her into bigger roles and more dangerous situations. When her master is called away, she has to stand on her own two feet even if one leg is lame. Does she have what it takes to fight alongside the red dragons when they're obviously outnumbered? And, what secret has Raolcan been keeping from her?
Dragon School: Prince of Dragons is Book 9. Through all the action and adventure, Amel manages to reunite with Leng. The battle keeps heating up and both have duties to fulfill that force them to part once again. At one point, everything seems lost. Then Amel learns a stunning truth about her dragon, Raolcan, that blows her away. This is a quick read with a cliffhanger ending!
Dragon School: Dark Night is Book 10. Amel is trapped inside a cave with her friends and a traitor while the battle rages on outside. It won't be long before the nearly unstoppable Ifrits force their way in. This story has the most intense action in the series. My heart was pounding the whole way through!
I received eARCs of these books. These are my honest and voluntary reviews.
Dragon School: Episode 6-10: YA Fantasy. Adventure. Animal Companion - Dragons. Action. Mentor/student. Truth. Sworn. Single POV. Suspense. Romance. Friendship. Ifrits. Battles. Travel. War. Hidden Traitor/s.
I loved this one. There's a lot more suspense and action. Like the last omnibus (or season, I guess you could call it), it's easy to read, well-written and fast-paced. You learn new things about the world and the people in it, the characters face new challenges and trails, skills, new and old, are tested and learnt, and the battle between good and evil is approaching. It's got everything you could want in an action/adventure fantasy.
I favourite moments were of the lightbringers, the action and the card game scenes, and Roalcan and Amel, and I can't wait to read more. My favourite episode in this season was the Dark Night; it's intense and non-stop. The careful manoeuvring and intrigue was up my alley. ().
How much I liked it: 5 Stars Ideas - World Building: 5 Stars Ideas - Plot: 5 Stars Character Depth: 4 Stars Character Interactions: Average Animal Characterisation: Standard (Dragons) Warnings: None. Execution: 5 Stars Writing Notes: While it's still written with the same complexity and feel of a MG novel, the YA beffitting themes such first romance, responsibility, independence, and violence take the lead to the benefit of the story.
Oh my word, Sarah K.L. Wilson, you're killing me! I love these books and so do my kids. We finished this set and have started the next. The cliffhangers drag you from one book to the next because you are so invested in the characters that you have to know what will happen to them. Amel is still awesome and Raolken (sp?) is fabulous. I love their bond.
There is so much that happens in this set and the characters grow and change. I love some of the new characters that we meet and dislike/distrust others. The fights are epic. The friendships grow stronger. The Dominar has me intrigued and I cannot wait to see what happens to the characters I've grown to love (I'm worried about some of them!). It was a 5/5 for us!
Thank you to the author for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.
Dragon School: The Complete Series is a thrilling, captivating, fantastic, suspenseful, and engaging read! This book contains the entire Dragon School series which is 20 volumes! When this book first arrived, I was a bit scared because of the size but it is in great condition and has held up wonderfully! This book is recommended for ages 13 to 18, but I thoroughly enjoyed it as an adult. The plot is unique, there is lots of drama, I love Amel is a character with disabilities (great representation!!), and the dragon, Raolcan, is to die for! I instantly adored these characters. With 20 volumes I questioned whether the quality of the story would be retained, but there was no need to question that. Each volume is as engaging, thrilling, and as un-put-downable as the last! I truly loved this book!!
I have been reading these books in bundles of 5. This grouping picks up right where the last group ended. Amel is fleeing from Vanika. There is a lot more intrigue and action in this group of stories and I could not stop reading. Amel is growing into herself and is gaining confidence. Of course, she is being put under tremendous stress and encountering harrowing circumstances. I loved the relationship with Hubric and I enjoyed the closeness of Amel and Raolcon. Ends on another cliffhanger. I look forward to see what happens next.
These books remind me of Mercedes Lackey’s stories with the companions choosing Heralds. If you like those, I think you will enjoy these stories as well.

Amel and Raolcan continue their apprenticeship with Hubric and Kyrowat, never guessing where it will take them or who they will meet. Amel gets her first message from no other than the Dominar himself and plays her first game of cards. Savette and Rak are bound together in more ways than one and then have to part ways as Rak heads home to try and prevent all out war. Amel and Hubric are also forced to part ways for a time, shortly after meeting back up with Hubric she also meets more Purple Dragon Riders including the head of the Purples. Raolcan lets her know a minor fact about himself and OMG what a cliffhanger this omnibus ends on....I want the next one NOW.
The war between good and evil has come. Dragons battle earth demons to help the humans.
Evil is over running The Dominion. Crippled Dragon Rider Amel Leafbrought and her very special Purple Dragon, Raolcan try to protect the injured Dominar and her friend Savette who is the Chosen One, as evil is overtaking The Dominion. It looks very bleak but the prophecies speak of hope in the form of light and truth that could save them. Loved the second book as much as the first. Can't wait to begin the third book.
This book set continues with our heroine, Amel, and her wise dragon Raolcan on a journey to save her friend after having been kidnapped. The interaction between Amel and Raolcan makes us fall in love with these characters. You root for them throughout the whole story because everyone believes her disabilities make her weak, when in reality they make her stronger. If you want to read a book in which you are rooting for the underdog, then this is your book. It has everything from young love to thrilling battles.
What a totally fabulous story, full of dragons of many different colours, with their amazing riders. I love the relationships between the purple dragons and their riders especially when the dragon is sarcastic and smarter than you would expect. You hate the Dusk Covenant and wish they would just give up, but you know that’s not going to happen. Grab your copy, your favourite beverage and curl up in your favourite reading spot and enjoy. Highly recommend.
After finishing the first box set in this series I needed to continue with this storyline and see it to the end. I got the rest of the series on KU and went through them all in just a few days.....I could not put this story down and had a hard time diverting my focus even for things which I needed to do...like sleep and eat. I am totally blown away by this author as she weaves the many storylines in the series together and can't wait to see how everything ends up.
I absolutely love the larger volume of the novellas. They read like a large novel. The character development is well done and the characters are more fully developed in each of the books. Amel’s character is changing over time with her dragon’s encouragement and her friends as well as her mentor. I am only half way thru the books so I can’t wait to read what happens next!
The author continues the roller coaster ride of these books!! Amel and Raolcan, along with old and new allegiances, continue to try making a difference in their world. Some people they know they can trust and others they can't. Their people's leader is missing and no one knows where to look for him...even if they weren't running for their lives!!
This is a Fantastic series. If you love dragons and different color of Dragons. You will love this, The Author really brings out the characters, Amels character has really grown for me with series she doesn't let her physical problems hold her back. I highly recommend this read. I was given this book. Shauna Joesten
This is one awesome series. If you like dragons you’ll love this. Different colours for different types of dragons. Some messengers, some warriors etc. The characters are solid and lots of battles with twists and turns along the way to keep the adrenaline going. A real roller coaster ride of magic adventure.
I dif not think, when ordering these books in their odd format, that I would become this invested! I love the relationship between Raolcan and Amel. I'd line to write more, but I'm going to ignore my beta commitment for one more day to read the next installment.
Wow! What a wild ride and it's not over yet. The Dusk Covenant is trying to destroy the Dominion. Where is the Dominar? Is Savette the Chosen One? Who is the Prince of Dragons? All these questions are answered but more appear to keep you wondering what is going to happen next. What a great read and series.
Wow!!! The more episodes I read the more I fall in love with the characters and the story in this series. A Mel is a Brave, strong willed, amazing young women. She does not let her childhood accident ,which Gave her a limp, stop her from doing anything!! During these episodes her relationship with Leng finally blossom’s.

Amel and Raolcan are in real big trouble ! How will they get through this one? She's hurt really badly. He's banged up also. The story is really heating up. I have luved every word of this series and I only anticipate it getting better. Don't miss this series. Highly recommended for all.
I'm enjoying the series. The h/H are both Dragon Riders. They each have their own jobs to do. Purple dragons have messages to deliver. The trials and tribulations each of the ate going through will make you interested and you will stay up past bedtime to finish the book.
The story is fast paced which I love. It took off right from the beginning. My only issue with the story thus far is the romance piece. I honestly found it rushed and unnecessary, I don’t think every story needs to have a love struck girl pining after a guy. Otherwise this book was great and kept me engaged. I couldn’t put it down.
I loved the first book. But this is touted as the second book and, of course the story continued. However the author didn't (as most authors of book 2's do) catch you up on what happened in book one. I often read two books in a row so I had forgotten much from book one. Thus I lost track and gave up. Too bad as I think it's probably a good book.
This is only book 2 - but it's so good. If you're looking for a Brittany White or Zoe Chant story - you'll be disappointed in the story but NOT THE CALIBER of writing! This is a story of DRAGONS - it's good. Thank you for your time, talent AND THE STORIES!
With the top notch action pace in these books you certainly can read them within a day or two. The author certainly knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat as you squeal with delight gasp in fear. The twists and turns are well worth the ride for book two of this series.
These episodes continues the storyline and doesn't let up on the action and battles between the light and dark. There are some very tense moments that kept me on the edge until I finally found the answers. I will definitely be reading the next set of episodes as I can't stop reading.
