Can love and loyalty defeat the evil that is Hunter?
This has been an epic series and it deserved an epic finale, which is exactly what Ms. Ward gave us. Layla and her men are preparing for war with Hunter and hoping that they all live to see another day. Their Bind is stronger than ever after being broken but are they strong enough to defeat Hunter? Layla and her men are expecting an attack from Hunter at Summer Solstice and are gathering forces at the Red Letter Hotel Paris when the unexpected happens and throws everything into disarray. Whilst they knew that defeating Hunter would not be easy, the Bind is shaken by Hunter's devastating first strike and have to hurriedly rethink their tactics. What follows kept me glued to the pages, unable to see how Layla and her dragons would overcome Hunter and his infinite army. This series has been a revelation all round. Ms. Ward has created a completely new type of paranormal and also of reverse harem. The individual connections and the love and passion that Layla shares with each of her men are not unusual, but Layla Binds all her men to her in a way I've never seen before and the connection and love each of the men feel for the others in the Bind is also unusual. And Layla's use of her drakaina powers and the ether is a testament to Ms. Ward's creativity and incredible imagination. As the power and ability of each one of the Bind grows stronger, so all the others level up accordingly, and how this has driven the series forward in terms of the Bind's togetherness and towards this epic battle across the universe is nothing short of marvellous. I don't want to spoil anything so I won't but all I can say is that how everything was resolved was definitely not what I expected but I loved it. Kudos to Ms. Ward for doing the unexpected and getting it spot on. Through each of the nine books, I loved the characters. Not just Layla and her drakes but all the others who have also wormed their way into my heart. Rikyava, Rake Andre, Heathren, Quinn, Amalia DuFane, The Madame, to mention a few, and others that have only had a small part to play. I am very sad that our time with all of them is finished but I am keeping all my fingers and toes crossed that we will see them all again in the books that Ms. Ward already has planned featuring more from the Twilight Realm. This series and these characters have kept me enthralled, every page dragging me further into the Twilight Realm and shutting out the rest of the world around me. Escapism at its very best and what higher praise can there be for a book? Thanks, Ava, for giving us this gift.
Overall, I really liked this series. The sum is better than any of the individual books.
This book was by far my least favorite of the series. The ending and how the big bad was defeated really ruined this book. The h realizes that love and compassion can overcome anything and the characters go on and on and on about it. The h strongly needs to defeat the big bad in a compassionate, gentle way. The big bad that has destroyed civilizations, raped, enslaved, murdered countless people over countless years has to be healed and loved before he is killed. This became a big part of the book. It was brought up so many times that it became so repetitive and really annoying. The bind group would battle the big bad till they were exhausted, injured, and in bad shape then something would happen with the big bad that would cause the group to rally and battle till something happened, then they would rally then something would happen then they would rally. Over and over again the group would be injured, exhausted almost defeated then they would rally or maybe they were saved by something or someone for it all to happen again. The ending/defeat of the big bad was weak and absurd.
The h going on and on about how love overcomes and defeats anything or how love is the greatest thing reminded me of how in "Interstellar" love could fix all their problems.
A mesmerizing conclusion to an EXCELLENT, MUST-READ series! Author Ava Ward has once again blown my mind! GOLDEN DRAGON BIND, while a complete standalone, is also the ninth and concluding book in Ms. Ward’s Royal Dragon Shifters of Morocco series. GOLDEN DRAGON BIND is another phenomenal A RED LETTER HOTEL PARANORMAL ROMANCE which is for mature readers as it is also a reverse harem dragon shifter romance with explicit scenes. While each of the novels which make up this series is at its core a complete standalone, reading the epic tale from the first novel, ROYAL DRAGON BIND through to GOLDEN DRAGON BIND, allows readers to experience the complex worlds and the mesmerizing characters within it. The various plotlines and characters continue to build, then unravel, and finally mature while staying true to their initial precept and the theme of the series “Love conquers all.” In short, I was riveted! With descriptive and eloquent prose, author Ava Ward places her readers in the most sensual and opulent settings that are interspersed liberally with captivating suspense and intense action. Individually, each title in the series has been a wonderful experience which has also built anticipation for the next episode! In fact, this reader has always found it difficult to leave the Twilight Realm, even more so with GOLDEN DRAGON BIND as it completes the series. Dare I admit publicly that I never wanted this Red Letter Hotel soliloquy to end? Regardless, I will say, run – do not stop – and get your copy of GOLDEN DRAGON BIND today. I volunteered to read an advanced copy, and this 5+STAR, MUST-READ recommendation is voluntary and honest. If you have never read anything by Ava Ward, then start with GOLDEN DRAGON BIND today! I guarantee you will want to go back and read more! Happy pages! 😉
YEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! The series finale, book 9 for Ms. Ava Ward's Royal Dragon Shifters of Morocco, Golden Dragon Bind was on go from page 1. I couldn't put it down. I have not come across anyone who has done battle and romance together so fluidly as Ms. Ward. The sequences are seamless. No abrupt stops, no bumps no drops in the flow of the story. Once you start you are in deeply rooted till the end. You see the delicate balance between love and war throughout the series not disappointing us in the finale. The bind, Layla and her men are a picture of love of all levels coming together in harmony to support and protect each other and their friends, their family. As always Ms. Ward's battle scenes descriptions are words painted on canvas. The pictures painted are vivid and allow the reader a front row 3D seat to the action. while perfectly closing up this series she has masterfully left many roads to spin off series and standalones to come in the future featuring the characters we were introduced to and fell in love with in this series. Can't wait to see what's next. ~Queen Nuba~
So we finally come to the end of this beautiful sizzling hot reverse harem shifter romance and the war is on. Layla’s enemy, Hunter has attacked the homes of her bound royal dragon mates thus starting a war to claim Layla as his own but Layla is sharpening her fangs and claws as she prepares to fight for those she loves. Hunter is ruthless, insane and immensely powerful and is ready to use all those he has bound forcibly to him to bring ruin on the Golden dragon Bind however Layla and her mates use love to bind each other not force and domination and this might turn out to be Hunter’s downfall. The Red Letter Hotel in Paris was preparing for the Litha Midsummer Solstice Ball with all the style this hotel usually thrives to provide for its clients however this time round those invited know what to expect and they come as allies to the bind. Layla’s mates plan down to the last detail how to use all the forces offered to them and how to do their best to defeat their life-long enemy. They all had their own individual magical strengths to call upon but knew that their biggest strength was in fighting through the bind together and Layla insisted they not kill Hunter in fury but with love in their hearts as their bind demanded. Dr Luke Murphy, the Ephilohim, as well as the Vampires and Revenants and all other kinds of dragons joined in the massive last battle but could all their efforts win this final war? Layla had a few tricks up her sleeve to use if all else failed but she was tested to her limits by Hunter, evil incarnate himself. This book gives us the ending we deserve, it is strong in it’s battle scenarios but more so in its love scenarios as this series has always been about love. I know I am going to miss Layla and her gorgeously sexy entourage of men and hope Ava Ward will provide us with more stories in this magically enchanting shifter series.
As a long time follower of Ms. Ava Ward's through this series, I was having a hard time coming to grips with this series ending. I tried to put reading this last book for as long as possible; too sad to see this come to an end, but wanting to see how everything involving Hunter would turn out.
Through every chapter, every page turn, and every moment in this book left chills running up and down my spine. I felt every heartache, every frustration, and every moment that Ms. Ava Ward created. Every environment brought new obstacles and challenges for the Bind. Even though this story is the end of how they interact with Hunter, I am still glad I was along for the ride through all the ups and downs, through all the heartaches and breaks, through the laughs and smiles, and through all the steamy moments they all shared together.
This will forever and always be a series I will return to. I never want to fully separate myself from Layla, her Bind, her amazing friends, and the esteemed Red Letter Hotel. Thank you again, Ms. Ava Ward, for creating such a fantastic world to be apart of. Thank you for allowing us to follow you on this journey you have taken these amazing characters on. I can't wait to see what is in store for the rest of your career!
Golden Dragon Bind is the astonishing finale to one of the better reverse harem series out there. Ava Ward's ability to bring the reader deep into a story in masterful. Her rich descriptions and her realistic characters down to what they wear and even their sent and body attributes is so detailed I feel as if these are personal friends and in a way they are because this is a series to own and reread. The first half of the book is relaxing as Rhennic and Adrian go through their coronation and all attend for they know there will be no catching their breath once the war begins. The Red Letter Hotel in Paris also prepares for the up coming war with Hunter and his binds and all show up to help. The second half is the war is intense! Ava did an amazing job describing the magic and different realms they experienced and the attacks Layla and men inflect on Hunter. I wondered how Ava was going to wrap up the series and it is the perfect finish with Layla achieving her goal of Love being the answer even in war.
This book was given by the author in exchange for a honest review.
So, we finally reached the end of Layla's adventure that started last year. And boy, Ms Ward didn't disappoint. We've got intense battles, intense love and intense sex too LOL During the book we were confronted with the fact that probably a bunch of our favorite characters could potentially die, since they were fighting the most foe of Twilight Realm. I'm not afraid to say that I cried in some parts of the book, since I felt the despair that our heroes were feeling since they didn't knew if they were going to live to see another sunset. The ending was bittersweet, but was happy too. I'm sad that we didn't get a epilogue to see the bind lives after a few years, but since Ms Ward said she's already planning more books in the Twilight Realm series, we will probably get see our heroes in sometime in the future, even if they aren't the central focus.
I'm glad that I was part of this journey and I'm already excited to start the next one!
The last book of the Royal Dragon Shifers of Morocco is brilliant. We watch the final battle between Hunter and the Bind and their allies. And what a batle, so much drama, suffering, hope and strength. To expect the unexpected. It is a beutifull end that reinforces the saying: love conquers all. I loved the jouney of Layla and her man. I will neveer forget this series for it is deeply in my heart.
Battle of the millennia! What a showdown! Crazy battle filled with all the key players throughout the series! An appropriate ending to this part of Layla’s journey. So very excited this isn’t the last book from this fantastical world! I wish I could say more but I’m afraid I’ll give too many details away! 100% must read!
As always Ms Ward didn’t disappoint. While this is the final book in this series all story arcs were gathered up and completed in a spectacular battle, as full of twists and turns as one expects. I for one will miss the Twilight Realm, I see rereads in my future. Thank you for such a fabulous series. Highly recommended.
This was a brilliant ending to the series and I enjoyed reading it very much. There are so many moments which make your heart stop and you can’t quite believe what is happening. The action starts in the very first chapter, and even though there’s some downtime, it doesn’t really stop until the end. I like how Layla and the rest of the bind try and defeat Hunter, it’s unique and not seen a lot. This is definitely a series I will read again and enjoy immensely.
The finale of an awesome series. Ava Ward is a master storyteller. This was a rich visual experience, I was immediately transported to an amazing world. Reading was effortless. The characters were well developed and the scenes were thrilling. My only complaint was it ended, I hope she has spin-off books planned. I was given an ARC and am voluntarily reviewing it.
Two takeaways for me after reading this book. The first is that it didn't need to be told separately. I think the final battle with Hunter aka Orrin and everything else in this book could have occurred in the last book and the series would feel just as complete. There were pockets of revelations and information that weren't necessary I thought, including the drunken revelry the night prior to the battle royale. Just doesn't seem like a good idea to get drunk when your enemy can show up on your doorstep at any minute. Hunter being as mutable and as insane as the author wants us to believe could have attacked early and they would have been unprepared and screwed. As it was, Hunter came during a party which was staged to throw him off but it doesn't make sense to me that he would have thought Layla and allies were just living life like normal at the Hotel especially when he'd orchestrated several attacks on other people and places that Layla and binds cared about.
The second thing for me with this book was the change in Adrian. This whole series, he was the stalwart one, practically pledging himself to Layla and only Layla as the only true hetero dragon she'd bound to wanting to have a male intimate experience. I was disappointed at the sudden shift in his attitude and it didn't fit with everything we knew about Adrian over this nine book series. Layla shares herself with the other men in the bind but that detail set Adrian aside and was something I liked, that he was devoted in a way the others weren't and that little piece that was different I thought was special. Ruined for me with that part since love to me doesn't equate to I need to experiment with the men since I love them so much through the bind.
Adrian gets to be desert dragon king since the King he awakened in the last book dies in the final stand against Hunter. Purposeless loss in my opinion that part but most other allies survive. Hunter is killed with kindness. Literally lol. I found it hard to reconcile the chatty but sometimes crazy but also clever but then insane back to melancholy then vengeful Hunter we saw over a few pages. It was odd and confusing, even more so than his sudden "love" and desire for Layla in the last book. Nimir was awakened and served no real purpose other than to reject Hunter's bind after Hunter showed Nimir the monster Hunter had become over the centuries since Hunter killed Nimir.
Overall though, I mostly enjoyed the series and there were no big surprises in how this one ended. A good surprise would have been Layla hooking up with Heathren Merkanis but it was not to be in this book's telling.
I received this book as an ARC. I loved this book. I was very shocked to see Namir had been alive. Although I really wish there had been more play on some of the previous kings , like Layla's father and the desert king. I would also love to know if certain characters had survived the battle, for example the friends Kayla had made at the hotel the cat lady and the older guy that bought Kayla at the auction. Sorry forgot their names. But otherwise I was glad to see Hunter finally learn how lesson.

As Layla would say, ‘Holy Epic Conclusion, Batman!’ I savored every word of this book knowing it was the end to an incredibly enjoyable series and I was extremely satisfied with how everything turned out for the Golden Dragon Bind. You can’t help but become invested in the characters and hopeful of happy outcomes for them. This book, as all the others before it, was well-written, imaginative, unique and awe-inspiring. It was a roller coaster ride of emotions with many unexpected twists and turns. I honestly couldn’t predict how everything was going to come together and I think that’s a great sign of an incredible author. I highly recommend this series...and everything else written by Ava Ward. And though I am sad to see the end of this series, here’s hoping for a spin-off about Quinn and the revenants. ‘The Dark Haven Chronicles’ has a nice ring to it, don’t you think? (Fingers crossed)
A whirlwind journey through the Twilight world that lies parallel to our current contemporary earth. In this world are all those creatures of legends, myths and more including monsters.
This series follows the chaotic journeys of Layla Price good old fashioned ordinary human, or so she once believed. The vast majority of her life was on earth living as a human with all the human wants needs and desires to go with it. When she meets a compelling man in an art gallery in Seattle he buys and gifts her an incredible artefact from one the displays. It burns a symbol on her wrist and awakens her magic. Over the period of a year there are plenty of shocks and betrayals in store, an ancient enemy who has hunted her blood line for thousands of years. To either own her or kill her.
Well worth reading (especially if you subscribe to KU! What? Like I could afford to buy all the books I read, not likely.)
I hated every single time this series called Adrien her “primary mate.” Funnily enough, it made me even madder when Dusk got added to it and he and Adrien became her primary “mates.” The books were written with that underlying theme though - the other men were supporting characters. I feel like Rhennic got really shorted in the last two books of the series.
Heathren never had closure and I’m mad about that too. And the reintroduction of Luke over and over was unnecessary and annoying.
I finished the series mostly because I needed to see it through after so much time in the world-building first three books or so. But the amount of time the author put into describing the clothing or decor let me get really good at skimming.
This was a decent series but I was frustrated by a lot.

Book Nine of this series thundered on through a breathless ending, and I loved every word. I felt like Ms. Ward handled the war scenes with surprising skill.
I am very happy to hear that there are more books planned, although not necessarily within this same series. All members of the Bind have great personalities with plenty of depth to explore, as well as other people and entities like Rekyava and Rake and Quinn.
This is the last book of this series...to my disappointment. It’s filled with action, suspense, drama, romance and all the elements that make this a spectacular finale to the series. The characters have grown and matured to a level that surpasses the first book. It was a pretty exciting and entertaining journey that I wish could have lasted a bit longer. The storyline pulled me in and kept me hooked on this wild adventure. Kudos to Ava Ward.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Well at last I have finished all 9 of the books about the Golden Bind. This was so fast paced and fun to read. Layla and her binds must fight their powerful nemesis, Hunter. The final showdown happens at the Paris Hotel that all the bind loves. After one of the longest battles I have ever read, the bound men are all mortally wounded and Layla must take Hunter out on her own. We find out a little about Hunter as two of his great loves are found and reject him because of his evil life. He asks Layla to give him peace and she does. This is the best series I have ever read!

I never grew to like Adrian throughout the whole series. Everything about him made me dislike him with a strong passion. When he was "lost" from the bind I was so happy thinking he was gone finally! Only for him to be brought back into the fold 🙄 Wish he'd have gotten got.. I love Dusk, Reginald, Fury and Rhen heck I even loved Luke... Adrian felt more like an antihero or counter to Layla.. he didn't seem to make things better just got in the way of the groups progress...
Ava transports us into a sumptuous, tempestuous and luxurious world - with dragons and exceptionally good looking men who just happen to be those dragons. In the final instalment of Royal Dragon Shifters of Morocco, Ava pulls together the threads of the various underlying story lines make a denouement of them all! I thoroughly enjoyed being transported to the Deeps, to the Crystal Caves and to the Red Letter Hotel.
I have refrained from commenting on the previous 8 books so that I can give e a general comment at the end. The series began with a good idea but like many authors, the story development was poor. This could have been condensed into 5 books max. No why did I finish the series, simple, I thought the writer could redeem herself. Though this was not the worst book of the series, the series was bland and dragged on. Obviously this writer is not for me
This whole series is fantastic from beginning to end. I made myself slow down in my reading just to make it last longer. Layla and her dragon bind went through so much. The heat was spicy enough and always flowed with the story not just added to make people happy. I can’t wait to read the other storylines from this world. Thank you Ava for creating characters with real depth.
I was totally enraptured with each character and sped through all books at once. I feel bereft now I’ve finished them and wonder what will happen next. Will Adrian finally make love to one of the other Binds? Can we follow Luke’s life in the hospital? Can we travel with Fury around the world? What’s happening with her other old flat mates in Seattle? This saga should be made into a film or TV Series.
Normally ,with the the last book of a series, I tend to take my time because I don´t want to part with the characters. But I couldn´t do it with „Golden Dragon Bind“, it was to exciting and suspenseful. I am very happy that Ava Ward is going to write more books in this excotic and sensual world, maybe we will get glimpses of Layla and her mates?
I’ve been waiting for this book since I read the last 8. I’ve been wondering how Ms Ward would close off the series and I’m not the least bit disappointed. She’s continued to impress me over and over with all her work, and this book is probably my favourite. She ties up every loose end, not to mention fully shows us how each relationship has come. It’s a series I would recommend to anyone.
Wow what a series of twists and turns this series has delivered to the finale. Layla and her men are stronger than ever and they will fight to keep all they love safe. This author just keeps on giving us a storyline that hooks us from start to finish. Can’t wait to see where she takes us next.
I received a copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This is an amazing story and the last in this series. Layla and her bound mates are preparing for war. Hunter is coming to claim Layla for himself. Will he win? I have been captivated by these stories from the start and this is a wonderful ending that ties it all together. I received an arc of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
