I never thought I'd see her again. Never dared to hope. But against all odds, Abigail's back. Unfortunately she's as sweet as ever and even more beautiful. And I'm in serious trouble. I've learned to hate her in the time she's been away, but the blazing attraction between us is still there. And now, having her close enough to touch-close enough to taste-I'm in a literal battle for my life. Because my Bloodbound oath still holds, and the punishment for breaking it is still death. The last thing I want is "alone time" with her, but that's exactly what I get when the queen sends me on a mission, and the only way to keep Abbi alive is to take her with me. In this third book of the Crimson Accord series, the rift between humans and vampires widens, the menace of the Crimson Court intensifies, and the temptation for Reece and Abigail grows to a fever pitch. Will they give in to it? Or will the dangerous secrets that stand between them destroy their chance of love and any hope of living in peace? CRIMSON BORN is a romantic and gripping full length YA vampire fantasy romance that will transport fans of paranormal romance, dystopian romance, and young adult urban fantasy to a fascinating supernatural world within our own, filled with suspense, danger, sizzling tension, and desire.
I love writing, and I love LOVE. I've been writing seriously since 2010 and have written 35 books (and counting!) Most of them are YA and NA romantic fantasy. There's a dash of paranormal and dystopian romance in my book list as well.
I'm honored to be an Amazon bestseller and multi-award winning author of the bestselling Hidden Saga, which is a 10-book Fae fantasy romance series, the heart-pounding Crimson Accord vampire romance series.
My new Romantasy series, Age of Fae, begins with A Court Bright and Broken, which released on Valentine's Day 2025. Book 2, A Kingdom Ruthless and Radiant comes out May 23rd 2025!
I live in Rhode Island where I write in my car at the beach year round and sometimes crave the heat and humidity of Mississippi, where I grew up. I love hearing from my readers! Reach out and say hi anytime.
Cliffhanger extraordinaire! I should have seen it coming, but I didn't. I love vampire stories and have for years and years. To me, there is a certain mystique surrounding the "villain of the night." This story takes place in the United States during a time when vampires are part of everyday society. In the story, however, vampires are loathed and hated by many, causing them to be on guard at all times. (As an aside, I couldn't help but note the similarities for many marginalized groups in the US today.) But, back to the story. Abbi and Reece are vampires who have a "history" and are united once again for a mission that will save the lives of both humans and vampires. Old feelings stir when they are in such close proximity to one another - the car, hotel rooms, etc., and their friendship is put to the test. Reece has sworn his allegiance to Imogene (queen of the vamps), and as such, he can not have a relationship with any other woman. They try build walls around their emotions while at the same time they are trying to prevent a war. Oh, and someone is developing a cure for "vampirism." I enjoyed this story and will probably go back and read the first two books.
We knew we were in for a good time when the last book suggested a road trip, and this installment delivers on every level. I loved this book! I did not want to put it down. Could have read it in one sitting if pesky work and adulting didn't get in the way. Obviously if you are on book three you love Amy and you love her work. This book gives you all the feels and we get to be inside Reese's head which is truly a delight! I don't know any other way to say this, she writes boys well. Sometimes you read a boys POV and it's not quite believable. This is so well done I half expect Reese to be locked in a closet somewhere at her house feeding her material until she finishes. I cannot wait for the final book in this series and yet I don't want it to be over? Bravo to Amy Patrick for delivering yet again. In a year when just about everything was depressing these books made me happy!
Another exciting book in the Crimson Accord series!! Similar to the first two books, Crimson Bond is fast-paced, full of tension and was a one-sitting read for me. Completely the kind of series I would have super-fangirled over in high school and I’d recommend the series to anyone who loves young YA fantasy!!
I loved this continued story and seeing Reese side of the story and of course we get another cliffhanger ending. I’ll be waiting impatiently for the fourth book in the series!
Thanks again Amy Patrick for the ARC copy in exchange for an honest review!
The dangerous thing about Abbi is she is similar to Imogen in the fact that she is set in her ways. She has made an absolute rule to never bite a human, but as we see, that is not always the correct answer.
I don't understand why she is so opposed to the idea of being queen.
"I still can’t fill Imogen’s shoes. And I could never live up to Sadie. I’m not enough. I can’t do it."
Now she’s being an idiot. I cant get her being overwhelmed and scared about it, but does she really believe she couldn’t do a better job than Imogen? Why would you WANT to fill Imogen's shoes? They're full of blood!
Wow.... Amy Patrick has written another barn burning page turner. No spoilers here but the directions this book went ranged from unexpected to totally unbelievable.... Add in a corrupt tyrannical politician, bloodbaths on both human and vampire sides, a Queen Imogen who seems to become more evil with each setting sun, and Reece and Abby's new found alliance that threatens to slide into a deadly dalliance at any minute.... Then there is the ongoing struggle for peaceful coexistence between vampires and humans...or not! Ending on a cliffhanger you will NEVER expect...I know I will have no fingernails before the next book is done and possibly may pull all my hair out also... Never want this series to end! Once again, bravo!
I was immediately drawn into this book, finishing the series within two days. This review is what I’m posting on all four books as it is a review of the whole series.
The Crimson Accord is a world where vampires and humans are living together, mostly peacefully when we enter the scene. Abigail and Reece meet at a party and as Reece calls it: it’s destiny. This book has intrigue, and Abbi has a resolute moral compass she’s not willing to budge on. The series is definitely worth a read, but will I read it again? I haven’t decided, but probably not.
The good? 1. Reece and Kannon make this series worth it. Reece deserved better than Abbi. She’s stupid for never thanking him for keeping her alive after all her dumb decisions.
2. The story is interesting! The world is compelling. The support characters are a tad underdeveloped but are endearing.
3. Abbi and Reece’s will they ever be together romance... it pulls you into the story. Especially as you root for Reece the entire book!
4. This series is imaginative. The writing has a fun, fast pace feel to it. I immensely loved how clean the book was. Sex is off scene and the language is minimal. The book was exciting as we follow Abbi’s journey.
The bad? 1. Abigail is willing to let others get hurt for her to keep her morals. I don’t care what the book tries to tell you. Abbi is selfish. Her and Sadie’s “Peace at all costs” mantra is insane. Humanity is flawed. But of course Abbi willingly hurts Reece over and over because she’s hellbent on choosing the right thing no matter who it affects (yet never has to really face the consequences herself.) The ending of this book pissed me off. We are building up to a war between humans and vampires. And it just all ends peacefully? What was all the crazy war build up for? What was the purpose of the threat of war, if there would be no battle?
2. I nearly stopped reading the last book, Crimson Crown, because Abbi actually agrees to sleep with ALL the bloodbound soldiers. Wtf wtf wtf wtf. I realized there wasn’t much left and made myself trudge through but honestly it blew me away.
This whole time Abbi is shoving her morals down everyone’s throat, to the point of insane blindness to the danger she’s putting everyone in (like believing a cure will fix everything), but she decided “yes sleeping with alllll my drones is something I’m willing to budge on while the love of my life stands outside the door and I make him pick the order of men I sleep with”
I don’t care that circumstances got in the way and she never did it. She still agreed to it!!
3. I find the promise of sex every once in awhile to be a very strange reason for these vampires to be soldiers ... like if you want to be a part of the queen’s harem, like ok that’s your choice. But why did it have to be the soldiers?? This plot point is bizarre. I’m fairly certain not wanting to be killed by the humans is a good enough reason for the vampires to want to join the army. But whatever.
Sum up?
I recommend this series. It’s a decent vampire romance series. The characters are cute and you are rooting for them the whole time. Whether it was for them to succeed or fail, I was indeed invested in their stories.
I was rooting for Abbi to kill Imogen, but yet again precious Abbi never has to do any of the dirty work. Because Abbi kind of sucks, despite her endearing idealism.

So, book three in the Crimson Accord series; and it is all I expected and more. Hold on to your hats folks. Once again I was drawn in from the first sentence, couldn’t wait to get to the end and then disappointed to have finished. The main protagonists Abbi and Reece obviously take centre stage as they continue to struggle with the forbidden love they feel for each other. Imogen and the Crimson Court, Kannon and some characters from Crimson Storm reappear in this book. This story has it all, jealousy, repressed love and lust, evil machinations and political intrigue. Told first person narrative of Abbi and Reece gives a great insight into the thoughts and feelings of Reece too. I highly recommend reading Crimson Born and Crimson Storm before this one, as the first sets the scene with all the world building and each book seamlessly leads onto the next. I confess that I am reading the second book after this one and you can pick up the gist of the story and enjoy it without reading Book 2, but reading them in order is better.
After the destruction of the HVC head quarters and Abbi’s escape from the Safety Centre, she has nowhere else to go but back to the Crimson Court, the ever evil Vampire Queen Imogen and Reece. To save Abbi from Imogen’s wrath Reece convinces the queen to send her with him on a mission to find Sadie. Sadie is the leader of the Human-Vampire-Peace –Coalition and currently in hiding and also Imogen’s sister. There follows a road trip, where sparks fly ... and after some twists and turns this book comes to breathtaking conclusion which leaves us waiting in anxious anticipation for the romantic adventure to continue.
I had the pleasure of receiving this book as an advance reader copy from the author and am leaving this review of my own volition.
I'm so happy I got a ARC! Amy Patrick is a talented writer and I love this series and gosh she sure knows how to end a great book with a big life changing cliffhanger!!! What color are those eyesss!!?!?!??!?!?????? Lol 🤣 Abigail is stronger in this 3rd book and Reece is amazing as always! We learn some hidden lies in this book and it feels like things are actually rising up higher to a bigger picture. I feel like this series can be just as big as the Hidden Deep series also written by Amy Patrick. I love the characters and I dont want it to end!!! Kannon just maybe might have him a sweet honey love interest in the next book, I hope. Abigail has a big decision to make and she seems a little selfish. Shes so stuck on disliking everything there is to be a vampire she is forgetting about the needs and struggles that her kind go through. Also this book is a bit political and has a bigger picture to it and I love that! I noticed in book 2 and its more clear and I imagine book 3 will even clearer. I love it. Wannabe President Parker reminds me of somebodyyyyy... lol I love the many messages all throughout this book! I cant wait for book 3. These books are so good I can easily read it all the way though and its just an easy good read! Thanks Amy!!!!

"I was born to be an Amish wife." "You wanted more, remember? What happened to that girl who wanted a life of excitement and adventure?"
I really wish I hadn't sped through this one as much as I had... but I couldn't help it! When an author like Amy Patrick - who does YA slow burn /so/ well - promises that her ill-fated lovers are headed on a road trip and they both have to resist falling for the trap of their affections... you know it's going to be one wild ride.
This was every bit as delicious as the previous two novels in the Crimson Accord series, though the stakes were made to be arguably much higher. The entire series has had an element of "will she or won't she" woven throughout, not just in Abbi's love life, but in literally every choice she's faced from the moment she became a vampire. And the fact that we were treated to so much of Reece's point-of-view made the pull between them so much more palpable.
I'm aching for the next story because of that terribly cruel cliffhanger that I honestly should have expected... but in the meantime, this was a fantastic continuation in the series, and a great lead-in to the finale we look forward to getting our hands on.
I received a free advanced copy from the author and am leaving my review voluntarily.
Hm, I think if I was back in middle school I would have really enjoyed this! This storyline is definitely one I sought after over and over when I was younger. While this book was better than the previous ones, I felt like some aspects of the book were a bit rushed/brushed over - or just "lazy". For instance, the part where Shane turns into a vampire; he kinda forgets that he was in love with Abbi and just instantly reconnects with his ex-girlfriend which makes complete sense given their reunion! It also makes sense because they're all super young haha. Though I wish there was a larger conversation had? Maybe I was just expecting too much LOL- it kinda just seemed like a cop out since their dynamic was such a huge part of the last two books??? Also the whole vampire cure segment was so.. rushed? Suddenly Imogen gets injected with it and nobody really tried to stop Abbi from doing it?? SO much for Imogen's immense power. It was rushed/brushed by scenes like these that kinda ripped the emotion from the book for me. Was an easy read though!

About the book When Abigael went back to Bastion, Reece’s battle within himself started. He taught himself to hate her when she left to get rid of his pain from being away from her. However, in order to save Abi from Imogen, he needs to bring her with him on his mission. This means spending time by themselves alone is inevitable. My thoughts Crimson Bond has a different approach from book #1 and book #2. It narrates both Reece’s and Abigail’s views which is more interesting especially when Reece shows his jealousy towards Shane. This time, it tells Reece’s and Abigail’s journey to their mission. Reece’s effort not to break his Bloodbound oath and to keep their head with their body. While Abi is making sure they stick to their mission. As expected, the end of Crimson Bond will lead you to keep on going to Crimson Crown. A five-star. Book cover The book cover portrays Reece’s strong bond with Abi which is stronger than his Bloodbond oath to Imogen
I am giving this book 3 stars but really it is more like 2.5. At least the first third of the book is rehashing scenes from the second book from another character's perspective and does not do much to advance the plot. This book is also incredibly short, less than 200 pages and the Kindle app did not display the progress percentage in the lower corner so it was harder to realize that after an hour or two you are already halfway done. I know these books are relatively inexpensive, and they are being published in fairly quick succession, which is why it ekes out a 3 star rating. The story is good, I just wish it was all one book. Also beware of the enormous cliffhanger ending here. At the end of a chapter it would be bad enough. Having to wait months for another book release to resolve it feels a little icky and predatory.
Ohh my heart!! This book was absolutely delicious! I kept making myself put it down so I could savor it just a little while longer. I love a dual pov!! Reece was everything I knew he was supposed to be *sigh* I did wish for a second that Abbi would just be selfish for once but that's not in her nature and I'm glad she wasn't.. I think lol Brace yourself for the ending because you're going to yell!! It really was the perfect place to cut it but I wasn't ready!! I'm very much looking forward to the last book of this series but I'm not ready all in the same.. does it really have to end? Or can it be like the hidden series where we'll get little snippets and updates through other characters or guest appearances.. just a thought :)
I loved hearing the story from Reece's point of view - glad we also still have Abbi's. Imogen just likes to be evil. Abbi and Reece are going on a road to trip and boy what a trip it was. There is so much tension in the car that it kept me on the edge of my seat wondering who will break it first. Dual perspective with their thoughts IMO made this book stand out. They actually talked to each other and communicated!!!! There was a part that I just did not see coming - in a good way. This one does have some steam but not graphic. The ending was so good and reminded me a bit of the end of Part 1 of Breaking Dawn (the movie). Yes I admit I was and am a Twilight fan - the books and movies. i hope the author writes book 4 very quickly. Gotta know what happens.
I’m not entirely sure where to begin with this review, so I guess I’ll just dive right in. This book is easily one of the best books I’ve read in a little while. I thought I liked the first two, but they don’t even compare. I, like most people, worry about a series slowly decreasing in quality of story, but there is no need to worry about that with this book. As I neared the end, I had to stop a few times simply to process it. I am more interested than ever to find out what happens next with Reece, Abbi, Imogen, and the rest of the vampire population in Bastion and the outside world.
Thank you so much to Amy Patrick for sending me review copies of these books! I can’t wait for the next!!
I loved this book, but also not quite. The first half was not my thing at all, it was quite repetitive, as it played the last events from the previous book, only this time from Reece's perspective. He was just overall being way possessive and jealous which I didn't vibe with at all.
But then came the second half of the book and it was so much better! It focussed on the roadtrip a lot more and there were just a lot more interesting things happening in my opinion. There were still some bits that I cringed at, but taking that aside, I really enjoyed this second half! I flew through the chapters and I'm super curious to find out what will happen in the next and final book! It's definitely set up to be quite a story to read.
The whole over the moon love feelings and sulking jealousy were a bit too much for me though, so for this reason I can't quite bring myself to give it 5 stars. But over all I did enjoy this book! I'll definitely stick around for the last one. 🧛
With a direct continuation from the previous book we get mostly Reece’s point of view. This is just after Abbi returns to the Bastion with her friends and Shane. Reece is fighting for his love of Abbi and maintaining loyalty to Imogen. Lots of communication and feelings are discovered as the two take a road trip for a mission, by themselves. It’s pretty exciting to see how far these two have come from simple humans to powerful vampires. The series is young, suspenseful and hopeful. The books must read in order to follow along. I received an early copy from the author and wrote my review voluntarily.
Amy Patrick did it once more with her 3rd book in the Crimson series! What can I honestly say that neither I or others have said before. Amy Patrick is an AMAZING writer! This series has so much emotions and passion and not to mention action, it definitely makes you want to be there with the characters. I highly recommend this author and her books! Her series are definitely worth your time (and money) ! Amy is definitely an author you definitely want on your bookshelf’s! Weather it’s this series or her other series! They are books you’ll want to read over and over again!
Bloodyhell!! My mind is still spinning from what I just finished reading. I kept filling the pages to find out that I indeed did finish the story! From the beginning this book was intense and angsty. Literally on the end of my seat while reading. The heroin at times forgets that she is capable of many wonderful things but I’m hoping she now realizes she is very capable. I enjoy the unique take of vampirism and I can’t wait to see what happens next in Bastion. Patiently awaiting for Crimson Crown.
I have loved all of her books so far in both this series and the Hidden series. For this book, I only deducted one star because the beginning of the book is very repetitive. It rehashes what happened at the end of the last book, but through a different character's perspective. I felt like it went on a little too long and just wanted to get into the new parts of the story. Once the rest of the story started, it was amazing as usual. It ends on a cliffhanger, so I can't wait to read the next book.
Yes, the cliffhanger on this one is point on. Yes, the characters show some growth, as seen in their dialogues with one another and their actions. We are introduced to new, fun characters.
The story takes a new, more intense turn. It remains a simple read: good for teenagers.
Yet, more experienced readers could find the political intrigue simplified. Could wish for more growing space for the characters: more on the Amish background, more explanation on how the whole Bastion and this world functions.
I want top say I had a really hard time putting this book down but had to a lot over the last week. I loved how she wrote the book from Abbi's and Reece's point of view. I can't wait to see what happens to Imogen and the vampire race. If you are looking foot a great vampire series from an Amish girls point of view you would love this series. I'm so ready for the 4th and final installment of this series.
I think this is my favorite book of the series so far!! I’m so excited for the last book!! Reece and Abbi are such an amazing couple, and Abbi is so strong (even if she doesn’t see it herself).
If you enjoy YA Paranormal Romance, you will love this!! It’s a very different vampire romance story!!
I’ve been really enjoying this series but for some reason this 3rd book really seemed to drag on. I kept finding myself getting bored mid conflict or putting down my kindle to take a break. I think it’s because Reece was pissing me off or Abigail’s stupid decisions were getting on my last nerve.
I’m hopeful for the 4th and final book of this series! I really enjoyed the 1st and 2nd book!
As always fantastic book!!!! Love how the story has progressed and I am not going to put any spoilers in the review. You will just have to read it for yourself. The only down side is that Crimson Bond finishes to soon, would have liked it a bit longer. Thanks Amy Patrick another great read😍😍😍
The BEST book of the series! Just when you think you know what is going to happen, things quickly change. This book will leave you wanting so much more! The series as a whole is a fresh new take on a vampires! You will absolutely fall in low with the characters and Crimson world!
This book absolutely tugged on my heartstrings, and I love it. It has adventure, playfulness, suspense, and Amy's attention to detail in her writing really puts me in the middle of it. Can't wait for book 4!
Ugh, that cliff hangar! I can't wait for the next book, even though I can guess which direction it will go. I enjoy this author's writings bc it hasn't been super predictable like other young adult books. So, maybe I am wrong. I can't wait to find out in June!
Ok so Imogen is still THE WORST! lol. The story arc is progressing well and I plowed through this installment. Took me about 3 hours. A great quick read and a heck of cliff hanger! On to the final part... Highly recommend for a YA paranormal/vampire enthusiast!
