My name is Rebecca, but everyone calls me Becs.

Years ago, a mark appeared on my inner wrist--The Kiss, they call it--and it makes me a summoner. I can summon, well, things…entities of power, including demons. Which, I did, until recently. I quit, because I summoned a demon on behalf of a client and things went south. I fixed it, but now I owe that demon a favor and I don't know when he's going to call it in, or, what he's going to ask.

One thing's for sure, it won't be kosher.

Now I work in a fae bar, trying to stay out of trouble, waiting for the hammer to drop. But trouble tends to follow me. And my upstairs neighbor, Ash, seems to be right in the thick of it. He's gorgeous, with sexy curls, kissable lips, and a body to match. I can't believe someone like him even glanced my way.

Things get complicated when a local mob boss wants my help, a warlock decides I'm next on the menu, and my six-foot-tall fairy friend can't find his way home.

What's a Jewish, bird-watching summoner with family and friends to protect, to do?

J.D. Blackrose loves all things storytelling and celebrates great writing by posting about it on her website, www.slipperywords.com. She has published The Soul Wars series and the Monster Hunter Mom series, both through Falstaff Books, as well as numerous short stories.

When not writing, Blackrose lives with three children, an orange cat, her husband and a full-time job in Corporate Communications. She’s fearful that so-called normal people will discover exactly how often she thinks about wicked fairies, nasty wizards, homicidal elevators, treacherous forests, and the odd murder, even when she is supposed to be having coffee with a friend. As a survival tactic, she has mastered the art of looking interested. She credits her parents for teaching her how to ask questions, and in lieu of facts, how to make up answers.

Sigh, sometimes I think I'm 'too easily' satisfied? :') Is that a thing? I often see that my average score is higher than that of many other reviewers. Ah well, does it matter? It's how I feel, isn't it?

I received this copy of Demon Kissed with thanks to Netgalley and the publisher Bell Bridge Books. But if my request would have been denied I would have bought it, because I found the synops really interesting.

And I can say that I indeed enjoyed it very much! The pace of the story, the main and most side characters, the magic 'system', the (dark) humor, etc. I can't really mention a negative point, or if I indeed read something I questioned at the time (I know there was something, but I can't remember now I finished it..), the rest of the story made up for it 100%. It did take me a few chapters to get into the story, but after that I was glued to it.

Rebecca (Becs) has the rare ability to summon other beings, mostly demons. And when something goes wrong during a summoning for a greedy client you could say there is hell to pay. Trouble arises and overwhelms her from all sides, as if swallowed by an avalanche. But she fights back. And how! I loved how the author made her work and fight for it and not just 'magically' let things be solved. The plotting was fun to read and how it all worked out in the end.

Then there is Ash, our mystery guy. I was glad to see my suspicions confirmed at the end!

My 2 favourite quotes:
"Sounds like you're doing a good job of throwing yourself a pity party." "Well, I'm having a phenomenally bad day, and no one else is throwing me one."

"Oh, no offense, said Valefar." "Offense taken." "That's your choice." Great, Valefar had a therapist.

I was happy to discover that the second book was released a few days ago, so I just bought it and uploaded it to my Kindle.

I accidentally requested the second book in this story (long story), and generally I like to read in order, but don’t always, I saw the first and requested it too. This was such a fun book. Becs is a sort of snarky character, and I absolutely loved the side characters which are too numerous to list. TBH, though, Ash, her love interest was my least favorite character in this book. I liked him, but I wasn’t overjoyed. That aside, this was a fun starter book, and I can’t wait to read the next one to find out more about Becs’ past and what’s going on. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I'm a little confused because I now realise I've already read the second book in this series about Bec a young woman who can "summon" but is doing her best not to as Demons and the Fae don't always cooperate. In this the first book Bec gets entangled with a mobster boss, meets a sexy someone who is most certainly not of this world and all whilst trying to dodge a particularly nasty Duke of Hell ! Add in family dilemmas and a Fairy who has forgotten how to shrink back down and you begin to see that Bec has her work cut out for her !
This was fun to read and I actually really liked Bec. She's a little sassy and a whole lot of a genuinely good person. I just wish that I could have perhaps read about how she gave up "summoning" and that this journey doesn't start with what happens next. Perhaps there is a prequel with Nick and the Demon although to be fair it is discussed during this book so the reader isn't completely in the dark. This is not particularly a romance although Bec is very much drawn to Ash who was so obviously not what he appears to be and honestly I wanted to scream at Bec at times but hey ho she truly did have an awful lot to contend with. I enjoyed reading about these characters and the Fae were particularly entertaining and unless I'm very much mistaken a very special King made an appearance so maybe the big O isn't a myth after all !
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

As J.D. Blackrose did superbly with her Monster Hunter Mom stories starring affectionate but tough 40+ Jewish mother of two Jess Friedman (for which I eagerly await Season Two), the author brings her signature snarky humor and lovably oddball side characters and strong sense of guiding faith into an electrifying new urban fantasy series.

In other words, Demon Kissed is as funny, heart squeezing, butt-kicking, spiritually wise and supremely satisfying as its predecessor The Devil's Been Busy and I'm eager to continue.

Blackrose books are a must-buy for me, a copy for me and at least one other to give away as a gift. I would read the heck out of a crossover even if it was just Jess Friedman and Rebecca "Becs" Greenblatt sharing tea or a beer and something to nosh while they compared hot takes on the supernatural world and humanity and shared adorable family photos.

This set-up would've hooked me even if I hadn't recognized Blackrose's name, however: Rebecca "Becs" Greenblatt tries not to kvetch about it, but she did not choose to be a summoner with the eldritch mark known colloquially as the Kiss. Never signed up to carry the burdensome gift of being able to conjure demons and fae and the like, and with it the responsibility of safeguarding "clients" through careful contract negotiations when foolish enough to bargain with the supernatural world. It's a deadly job, and literal hell on her social life, but she has little choice other than to put her heart and soul into protecting foolish mortals from the other side as best she can.

Like Jess, Becs is a resolute heroine studying hard at martial arts and demonology and lore (P.S. the library scenes and its mysterious magic cat are awesome!), always bravely putting her life on the line trying to protect her family and friends on both sides of the supernatural divide, and humanity at large, against predatory monstrosities. Or she was, until recently.

A contract gone viciously wrong for the ambitious younger brother of a mob boss puts Becs on the hook for a favor to a notorious demon lord. Wracked with guilt, she's spurred to quit taking on infernal contracts (and other summonings) and starts a marginally less dangerous job tending a supernatural bar packed with colorful and difficult fae personalities. Unfortunately the mob boss and other figures from her past won't leave Becs in peace, and she's forced to investigate their schemes so she can thwart them before another disastrous bargain with hell is struck.

The mystery of what the three major evil antagonists are up to, and how Becs can dodge and counteract all of them at once, makes for a suspenseful page turner. Still for me the heart and real drive of the story is always rooting for its characters and their emotional stakes, and Blackrose always delivers on that score too.

One of the most lovable side characters IMHO is Pinky, a forgetful young fey regular where Becs bartends who displays some socially awkward characteristics associated with autism spectrum disorders. He has a loyal relationship with Becs where they support and help each other and his dilemma of being unable to return home to his mother in the fey realm provides the kind of heart-tugging subplot I get majorly invested in.

Pinky is a rare source of companionship though, because unlike happily married mom Jess, late twenties Becs fears it would be dangerous folly to try to have a love life or family life. So long as a demon lord holds a favor over her head and dark beings dog her steps and her very dreams, anyway. Which leaves poor Becs making excuses to her beloved sister and niece, and fighting an intense crush on her conventionally good-looking, evasive upstairs neighbor, Ash.

Ash is more than meets the eye and plenty of readers will guess his true nature fairly quickly, but that does not at all detract from the enjoyment. He's compassionate and resourceful and starts helping out Becs on her investigation, for which I appreciated him, but he was hard to warm up to for me. In part because he's definitely keeping secrets and keeping Becs at arm's length without being able (or allowed?) to explain--and in part because I preferred another man in Becs' life to him and couldn't help comparing them.

Kenneth is Becs' sweetly attentive and geeky T-shirt loving friend and employee of a family restaurant from whose parents Becs rents her apartment. Thankfully the dynamic never becomes a love triangle because Becs is very upfront with Kenneth that she won't date him, and in private only daydreams about Ash. I preferred Kenneth over Ash because I enjoy "friends to lovers" and nerdy love interests without magazine cover good looks more than other pairings, but I suspect I'd be in the minority here. Without spoiling how, Kenneth's family is a delightful surprise and play a larger role in the story than I anticipated and I'm really hoping to see more of them in sequels.

Becs is the greatest and most lovable character by a mile though and the major reason for anyone to pick up or return to the series. Funny and resilient and tough talking and fiercely loving and scrambling to keep her life together and stay one step ahead of monsters literal and figurative, but still taking time out to feed and appreciate the varieties of birds she adores, and ever more concerned for everyone than she is for herself to a fault in a relatable way.

3.75 stars--DEMON KISSED is the first instalment in J. D. Blackrose’s contemporary adult THE SUMMONER’S MARK paranormal, urban fantasy series focusing on twenty-eight year old, summoner Rebecca Greenblatt.

Told from first person perspective (Rebecca) THE SUMMONER’S MARK follows Rebecca ‘Becs’ Greenblatt as she endeavors to survive what has become her life. At thirteen years of age, a ‘kiss mark’ appeared on Rebecca Greenblatt’s inner left wrist, acknowledging our heroine as a ‘summoner’. Most of Rebecca’s New Testament-following clients want her to summon a specific demon but a summoning gone wrong finds our heroine in a precarious position in which the people she loves have been threatened, a summoning that now places Rebecca owing a favor for a favor owed. As Rebecca tries to stay one step ahead of the Death Magic, a warlock, a demon, and the Greek mob, Rebecca’s sexy new neighbor Ash, is keeping secrets of his own.

Rebecca Greenblatt lives in a magical world of fairies and elves, pixies, gnomes and trolls, angels and demons, witches and warlock, human and other. Every transaction requires a favor, a payment owing for every negotiation and contract; a concession and admission of debt to be paid when the time is called. Mistakes are made, and our heroine, is about to pay the price.

We are introduced to a large ensemble cast of magical, powerful and demonic characters: Pinky the lost Fairy, Joey the half-gnome, restaurant owners Mr & Mrs. Long and their son Kenneth, demon Valefar, a warlock who calls himself ‘Warlock’; Greek mobsters Gregory and Nick Adamos, Perrick the Troll, Krav Maga teacher Oded, as well as Rebecca’s neighbor Asher.

DEMON KISSED is a complex, detailed, intricate and busy introduction to JD Blackrose’s The Summoner’s Mark series. Rebecca Greenblatt is on her own with no ‘teacher’ to show her how to use her powers, powers that may cost our heroine everyone she loves. The premise is intriguing and enchanting; the characters are flawed, lively and spirited; the romance is limited to the sexual tension between Becs and her neighbor Ash…but I did struggle with the numerous times the heroine ‘smells’, stinks, sweats or is otherwise dirty, often referencing her lack of hygiene and over less than cleanliness.

A spunky heroine and a whirlwind of a story made Demon Kissed a shamefully good read.
No way around it, there was a lot going on in this Urban Fantasy and I enjoyed every minute of time spent with FMC Rebecca “Becs” Greenblatt gifted with or cursed depending on who you ask with a summoners mark called the Kiss enabling her to summon entities of power including demons.
This opens up so many possibilities and not all of them good ones.
Throw in a handsome MMC next door neighbor, Ash who has a few secrets of his own, mob bosses, Warlocks, Fae and a gambit of other colorful characters and we have the makings of a genuine non-stop, intrigue laden set up for a girl just trying to come to terms with who she is while keeping the family she loves safe from the clutches of the miscreants out to use them for leverage against her.
Throw in some romance and this fast paced well written magical mystery ride was a totally enjoyable read. Bittersweet cliffhanger ending!!!

What a great read Demon Kissed by J.D. Blackrose turned out to be! I actually had the second book in The Summoner’s Mark series first and I was tempted to jump in but I’m so glad I waited because I feel reading them out of order really would have ruined it for me.

There’s quite a bit of world-building and character introduction that go on here with the main one, of course, being Becs. She’s a Jewish, bird-watching summoner with The Kiss. A what? It’s a mark she has, and it gives her the ability to summon entities of power, including demons. Becs quit summoning after she had one go wrong. She did manage to fix it but not without a hefty cost in the shape of her owing a favor to a demon. Now she’s trying to lay low, work her job while waiting for her debt to come due. Life has other plans... Of course it does!

This book was so much fun! I loved the characters, which there is plenty to choose from without getting to overwhelmed. The main character is Becs and I just love her. She’s the perfect combination of sass and snark while she tries to deal with all that life is throwing at her. You know the usual things: Mob bosses, warlocks, wee folk, a six-foot fairy, dead birds. HAHAHA!!!

The pacing of the story is perfect and the more trouble Becs got into the more I was hooked. It’s non-stop excitement, that is until it finished, and man was I sorry it ended. Lucky me I already have the second book. I can’t wait to find out what’s in store for Becs next!

New author and I enjoyed their style. There is a feeling like I've missed something that makes the first few chapters a little unsettling for me. But I soon realise I've missed nothing, it's just that the backstory sounds so intriguing it feels like I've missed something.

A thrilling book, and cosy with the family she has unknowingly found and has, no matter how hard she tries to keep them away for their safety as she tries to save her soul.

A strong FMC, called Becks, was born with a mark that makes her human but linked to the supernatural world. Her world is small in people but her heart is big, and it becomes obvious how much she would give to protect those she loves, even those she doesn't love.

Ash the MMC love interest is obvious to us, and unknown to Becs, and that adds a little secret we get to hold to. Feels like the wrong time for her to find out, almost like it would add nothing to the events she's going through. So I like the fact that we don't deal with that secret. But I dislike thinking I'd get a little open door, only to be slammed with the door and not get the smut that was long awaited. Also, how did it happen? What words were said? I did feel like I missed a chapter there.

Overall it was a read that hooked me. But the ending isn't a cliffhanger, the ending is fast and almost like someone said, come on wrap it up now...it's more a "if you want more come this way, but no rush" hanger for me.

I would recommend this read, I may continue with the series

This wasn’t bad.
The world building was good, and the storyline was something that I haven’t read a lot of.
However I had a hard time connecting to the characters, and because of that, it diminished my investment in the story.
This could be a case of me not the book, but I don’t know.

A new character to cheer for!

I love Becs and am excited to see what she learns, who she saves and how she grows into her powers. I was captivated from page one with this story and found myself wanting to know more about Becs backstory and the stories of the other characters in the book. I hope Book 2 and 3 will answer these questions. I recommend giving this book a try, JD Blackrose has done a great job of introducing a new type of heroine.

This is the 1st book in a new series by the Author ........... full of action , demons , wizards and plenty of snarky comments - what more could a reader want !

Years ago a mark appeared on Becs' wrist enabling her to summon entities of power , usually demons .
After a summons goes wrong and she ends up owing a demon a favour for helping put things right she decides that laying low and working in a Fae bar will keep her out of trouble ........... no such luck !!
Trouble still manages to find her in the shape of the local Mob ........... a warlock decides she is next on his menu and her fairy friend from upstairs ( he of the great body and kissable lips) gets lost on his way home , what can she do ?

This was a thoroughly enjoyable read and I look forward to the next book in the series

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

To start, this is very oriented toward the female audience. It reminded me of Legends and Lattes in that A) the stakes are too low and B) it’s a slice-of-life kind of book. But unlike Legends and Lattes, it never promised low stakes from the get-go.

The story has trouble getting started. I don’t care if the characters aren’t really creative or lifted straight from other urban fantasies, but that means the plot has to be original. And here–there’s nothing new under the sun.

It’s another story where a typical woman is the chosen one but she doesn’t want her power but gets dragged into using it. She likes a guy but can’t get her life together because she keeps making bad decisions.

It’s those bad decisions that will turn me off from a book faster than anything. Your characters don’t have to be good, they don’t have to be smart, but they do have to be competent. And not just do things because the story demands it.

The world building in this book is very good. I love how the lead character is a strong female with a very altruistic heart. Her life is constantly in danger yet she strives to help her friends. The characters are multifaceted and engaging. I'm eager to read more about this character. I read this book on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author. Promising start to an intriguing story plot. Becs is a rare natural born demon summoner but recently gave up summoning due to an incident. Personally, I felt the story should have started off with the actual summoning that went wrong-especially as this was the trigger that set off the entire events in the book (which was referred to a few times throughout the book). That would have been a real good introduction as opposed to the one that was in the book, basically the main character on a phone call to her sister and having a car tail her.
Whilst the writing and world building was good, I felt there was a lack of character depth with the main character and I just didn’t feel a connection as a reader. I found her rather prickly and rolled my eyes at the scene in the club where she flips someone off. So basically, I feel indifferent to the main character. There is a small amount of romance between Becs and Ash. Again, I feel this could have been explored further. Perhaps it will be in the next book.

I read a lot of books in this genre and when I saw Faith Hunter (whose books I love) rate this book, I asked for an ARC from NetGalley. I rate this urban fantasy an overall 3 star, which for me is a good book and I’ll put the next book on my tbr list ( 4 star would be a connection with at least the main characters and that I would be desperate to read the next book. A 5 star is a book I absolutely love and would re read again, just to offer an explanation to how I score books I read). I would recommend for fans of urban fantasy.

*I received a free ARC copy of this book from NetGalley*

I wanted to love this book. It has an interesting premise, the author writes well, and the ideas have bags of potential, but it didn't work for me. It's a 2.5 out of 5.

Becs is not a sympathetic character. She's the "snarky heroine" taken way too far and I don't understand her appeal, especially to Ash and Kenneth. I suppose I prefer heriones who display more competence, rather than the screw up who can't hold down a job and can't maintain relationships (mostly with her family in this case). And despite this, two men are fighting over her. I don't buy it.

Ash is something of a wet blanket. While the reader knows that his sudden appearance as Becs' neighbour is due to unknown mystical machinations, he's just kind of a nothing person. Is he compassionate? Is he vengeful? is he a billionare? What's with that scene in his restaurant? He's inconsistent and lacks characterisation.

Finally, there's the world this is set in. Is this an alternate version of Earth? Or is it our Earth where some people know what's going on behind the scenes and others don't? Because the Longs are apparently ordinary people and yet they seem to know what's going on behind the curtain and are part of the magical world.

I won't continue with this series.

Demon Kissed is the first book in The Summoner's Mark series, so of course it can be read as a standalone novel.

This book is a really fun story that sort of pits twenty-eight year old, summoner Rebecca Greenblatt.against the world she lives in, which includes all of the best fantasy creatures. There are angels, demons, fairies, witches, gnomes and much more. It is pretty detailed and intricate story, so if you are looking for an easy, mindless read, this one might not be your cup of tea. I personally love an involved story, so this one was one enjoyed reading.

The worldbuilding in Demon Kissed is well done. There is a consistent magic system that involves favors and payment for magical debts owed. The story lines and character development are both nicely done and pleasant to read. The conflict is nice, but there is a lot of it. The heroine just can't get a break and that can be really fun to read. There are a number of characters in this cast, and I wanted to learn more about each one's life.

Thank you Bell Bridge Books and NetGalley for sending me this book in exchange for my honest review.

ARC from NetGalley

2.75 stars? Eh.

This had potential. The writing is decent, but the characters really leave something to be desired. I couldn't really connect with and therefore give a shit about anyone. The romance was weak. The plot was only okay. Honestly, I finished it last night and I'm already forgetting what happened. WTF was the MC's name? Uhh.. something Greenblatt.. damnit. Anyways, Greenblatt was an okay character. She didn't really do anything overtly stupid or have any particularly irritating behaviours. I would have liked for a bit more depth, depth of character and depth of story, depth of setting, etc. But, again, the writing is decent, and from what I can tell, at least under this name, this is the author's first novel. I would be interested in seeing how things evolve going forward, because there is potential. Unfortunately, I can't really recommend this book unless you're getting it for free and don't have anything else you'd rather read.

First book in a series and this has a unique spin on your typical demon tale.

Becs is a summoner who wants out of the business, but is unable to do so while she has some unpaid debts (both rent and demon related). Her own responsibility in the last summoning she performed tasked her with some demon follow-up that throws her into a complicated web of favors and mixed motivations. Her upstairs neighbor is also oddly helpful, sexy, and way too comfortable with the supernatural.

This story has it all - sizzle, paranormal mayhem, way too many dead birds, and high school mistreatment coming back to haunt them. Did I mention the birds? Yuck. Overall this story introduces a good team of players, lots of loose threads, and some interesting abilities that I'm sure we'll learn more about in book 2. Here's to a rich world building!

Full of action from the very beginning of the book. And it was well done in a way that it was not an onslaught but more an exciting start, a promising start.

A down on her luck summoner whose left her job and taken up as a bartender in a magical being's only bar.
But there are those who are unhappy with her carreer switch and in need of her skills as a Summoner and is less than willing to take no for an answer. And as if that was not enough, the demon she summoned and made a deal with to save someone else is threatening her abd her family unless she gets him the Soul of the one threatening her. Abd there in lies the choice that makes or breaks.
I will say that whilst it was interesting, it was also a tad predictable and also a bit on the overwhelming side. There's just constantly something going on and it felt like too much.
Solid 3 stars.

*I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley.*

This book was a solid 3.5 that I'm rounding up to a 4.

The story starts with a fast pace (literally). All I could do was grip my hands tight and hold on for the ride. This carried on for the majority of the book, yet there were points where I still found it hard to pick up and keep reading.

I was intrigued by the concept of book, and Blackrose did a good job world building. It was interesting to come across the different creatures in this world, but the main character did put me off a lot of the time. She called other characters immature when she herself had a lot of immature moments.

The one thing I definitely could've done without was the scene with the dead birds. As a furry animal lover, that scene was a little hard for me to read. Other than that, I'll probably read the second book just to see what's up with the ang- Ash.

Family, found family, and friends-of-friends drive this story

Love Ms. Blackrose's writings and will always plunk down funds to read her works.

Demon Kissed is a return to the more serious side of her writings of Urban Fantasy (I adore her humor offerings like the Zombie Cosmetologist). There is some romance in here, but the concentration is on Urban Fantasy magic.

Becs is a summoner who had to make a bad deal to extract a client from demonic clutches. Things cascade from there.

A solid offering in the Urban Fantasy world, though slower than many of the action-only stories proliferating this genre. I would have like more with Asher, who is an absolute snack, but am pretty satisfied with the broad range of characters introduced, providing a character-relationship-driven story. Each book of the five-book (so far) series works fine as a stand alone.

I little bit lost because the story start with Becs give up summoning, i confuse is this first book or there is another story before? I look author goodreads page there is no book before this.

Anywayy i love many creatures in this book! Fae bar really interesting place. Becs try to understand and learn everything, she really tired with people and creatures who try to threat and kill her. Trouble always find her. Becs tantrum so cute and Ash worry about her safety. Becs really badass and soo cool. Becs has bigger power and experience and that make her stroger.

Thank you to NetGalley for provide this book, it is pleasure to review this book.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I say these books on Netgalley and the story just sounded like something that I would read. So I requested all of them at once. I am glad that I bed. Becs is a great and a little bit of a snarky and loveable character. The side characters were fun to get to know as well. It was great to just be thrown right into what was going on and feel like I was there while they were making their decisions. I love how the book was paced and it kept me wanting to turn the page to see what was going to happen next. Great start to this series.

I received this book for free and voluntarily reviewed it.
I enjoyed reading the book, although it wasn't a "can't put down" for me. It felt like the main character had several main and side quests and she choose to do the side quests first when the main quest was literally life threatening. In the end it all played out, but I thought the whole time why Becs couldn't get her priorities straight.
All in all it was a solid read. That being said, I wasn't so hooked that I want to read the next book of the series.

I stumbled upon this book (and the author!) at a convention and my boyfriend bought me this book as an early Christmas present.
I was a little slow getting into it but I mostly attribute that to my chaotic schedule and not having time to sit down and really read more than a few pages at a time. Because when I had an afternoon free today I sat down and didn't stop until I finished it! J.D. builds an intriguing world with characters you can't help but root for. (Pinky is my favorite.) I'll definitely be looking to continue the series for Christmas!!

This wasn’t bad perse it’s just not that groundbreaking and is a story I r read way too much of.

I already knew I wasn’t going to like it. But I bought it anyways. What happened to stories where the FMC knows how to take care of her own business? Rather than waiting for some man to swoop on and fix it for them? Instead we’re always getting an FC that runs away from her problems until a man can come on to fix it for them or they go to some man for help. Sigh. Where are my Kate Daniel’s at??????? Authors need to stop going to Disney for their plot lines.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Bell Bridge Books for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the first book in a new series. It is an interesting book. I really like Becs, she tried hard to do the right thing, but kept getting in more trouble. She was in a no win situation. She loves her family and does what she can to protect them. Unusual story. Super intriguing. 3.5 stars Lots of potential

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this eARC for an honest review.

This book is perfect for spooky season. Demons, fairies, warlocks, summoning-sessions, “curses” and creepy feelings.
There are some very funny moments that made me laugh out loud, and other moments that made me feel “ugh” (nauseous).

I think maybe the ending was a bit rushed, and some parts during the the book was a bit unnecessary long.

I’ll rate this book a 4 star.
