Where do you turn when you lose a piece of yourself?
CRYSTAL FROST has known for a year that she's psychic, but a car accident leaves her sixth sense weaker than ever. When she begins sensing a ghost she can't actually see, Crystal isn't sure if she has what it takes to help. Meanwhile, her friend Derek is going through something personal, only Crystal doesn't know what's wrong. Will she be able to help this ghost cross over, help Derek find peace, and save her own life in the process?
Alicia Rades is a USA Today Bestselling Author of over forty young adult and new adult paranormal novels. Her stories follow characters in equal-dynamic romantic relationships and feature themes of discovering and claiming one's inner power. When she's not dreaming up magical stories, she's either binge-watching paranormal TV shows, meditating, or making crafts and cooking with her family. Her favorite tropes are small-town mysteries, witches, and magical academies set in the modern world. She has an unhealthy obsession with psychic characters and writes with a deck of tarot cards next to her computer.
This was my least favorite one in the series. Crystal was told something bad was going to happen to her. So instead of turning to her friends and family for help she decided to take care of it on her own. Which means she spent a lot of time lying to everyone. Needless to say I wasn't a fan of that. I will say that I did like the ending to the series. I'm glad that I read this series.
Can she protect her family and friends and save her own life in the process, or will she have to trade her life for theirs?
I'm not going to lie - I'm a bit disappointed in this read because all clues where right there - it was just so plain obvious and I hated that it could so long to figure out. I'm disappointed in the heroine, I just can't.
Other than that, it was a good ending to this series.
Full of secrets, trust, friends, family, psychics, abilities and romance.
Perfect for readers of paranormal romances.
Reread: Audiobook
Good narration. Suitable for this character and book.

I thoroughly enjoy the book. its well written and keeps you in suspense up to the end. highly recommended.
I just got done reading the Crystal Frost series, including a sequel short story, by the fantastic author @aliciarades . This was one of those recommended to me by Amazon, and it looked interesting. What an understatement! Rades may be one of the best new (to me) YA authors out there. Her character development and plot lines were great, and her new take on some familiar paranormal stories (psychics) really had me hooked. I finished this entire series in about 1 1/2 days; I could not stop reading, curious to see what's next. .... This is one of the few Kindle reads that I would like to really have in physical book form. Alicia Rades is definitely one of the authors I'm expecting great things from in the future.
I got this audiobook series to share with my 15 year old granddaughter. Although we enjoyed listening to it together, it was mostly to laugh at Crystal’s ridiculous decisions and the overwriting in the book.
I was surprised my granddaughter wanted to continue listening to this series. When I asked why she said it was so bad it was entertaining.
In this book, the audio is very poorly edited. There are HUGE silences in the recording and not just between chapters. Often, the silence would occur in the middle of a character’s actions or Crystal’s internal thoughts.
Add the shrill voice used for Emma and Crystal’s continued cluelessness, and this one is probably the worst of the series. Still my granddaughter and I had fun listening and laughing at it.
Actual rating - 1.5*. I am so glad to be done with this series. The first book set up really well but I found that every following book drove me crazy. The cover is pretty though.
“I need to warn you. It won’t be long before you have to make a choice. You are going to have to save three of the people you love most. Soon you’ll have to die to save the ones you’ll love.”
Following an accident, Crystal suffers a head trauma which befuddles her psychic abilities. Sensing the presence of a ghost but unable to help them cross over, Crystal and Emma attempt a seance with disastrous consequences. Now an angry spirit is targeting her family and friends. When her father sends her an ominous warning from beyond the grave, Crystal finds herself facing an agonising choice.
Fading Frost is the fourth and final instalment of the Crystal Frost series. It’s easy to become emotionally invested in characters over the course of any series and this was no exception. I genuinely welled up at the end when Crystal comes face to face with all the spirits she’s helped since she became aware of her abilities. Eva, her imaginary childhood friend was a nice touch on the authors part.
Throughout the course of the series. I’ve learned to appreciate the way the author has sensitively dealt with many of the social issues faced by some of the characters helped by Crystal. Due to the target audience, the author avoided graphic detail and treated each of the themes with gravitas. There’s been an underlying message of love, hope, courage and the value of friendship.
Crystal is a protagonist who many young readers will identify with and hopefully aspire to. This book is ideal for young fans of paranormal abilities, ghosts, psychics and mysteries.
I received a advanced free audible copy of Fading Frost which was read by the excellent Kim Reiko and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
I don't normally write reviews on Goodreads, so this is my first, but I had to.. I've listened to this series on audible.
For God sake this is going on and on and on. God damn my habit of not letting go a book and finishing a series. I wanted to crush my phone 200 times already just to stop this. It's agonising! Why would you create this weak pathetic stupid character? Give powers to someone capable of something. anything. to make it a bit more enjoyable. Moaning and crying non stop... She seen her dead father's ghost and it's all about her. Of course she wouldn't tell her mother who was the frigging wife. Nah why would she care?? Why would she want to know about her dead partner?! Let's just skip that and keep it a secret. What the actual f?? Can she be more self centred and selfish? Afterwards she jumps her bf bones and he's a 18 years old teenager who doesn't want to f**k.. and with a condom.. cause he lived underneath a rock and he's sure he'll get her pregnant so he's a virgin missing a leg.. She's like "I have to die to save the ones I love cause the ghost told me so". Well please do! Please, please please would you f**king die already? Plus the narrator is like sobbing while speaking so her voice is super annoying. I have never read/listened to anything as bad as this....😑😑😑😑 I wish the rating would be on minus

Fading Frost (Crystal Frost Book 4) ~~ This one hit harder emotionally. Crystal’s powers become heavier, more complex, and more demanding. Instead of just reacting to ghosts, she’s now being pulled into situations that challenge everything she’s learned so far. It’s darker, more intense, and honestly the most mature of the four books.
Her relationships shift too. Emma is still her steady friend but isn’t afraid to call Crystal out when she needs to hear the truth — and that made their friendship feel more real. Derek is actually starting to accept that Crystal’s abilities are the real deal, even if he grumbles about it. And Robin… this is where he shines. He steps up as her boyfriend, partner, and emotional anchor in a whole new way.
The ghostly storyline in this one is the most gripping of the series. Crystal faces danger that isn’t just physical — it’s emotional and psychological. She has to decide who she is, what she wants her life to look like, and how much she’s willing to sacrifice to help others.
By the end, Crystal feels like she’s finally stepping into her true self. Stronger. Wiser. Still scared sometimes — but brave enough to keep going.
I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself — you won’t regret it.
This was an amazing conclusion to the series! The book starts off with Crystal getting into a car accident and her sixth sense is disappearing. Crystal has to figure out her plans for the future, which college to go to while helping her friends and family, and a ghost cross over that she can’t see. Throughout the book, strange things keep occurring to Crystal, her friends, and her family that result in injuries, Derek is acting strange, and she has to decide whether to help her friends and family or to save herself. Crystal tries to not rely on her support group as much as she has in the past books which creates more issues and a longer line of secrets and lies. I loved that Alicia wrote all of the characters realistic and kept them that way from start to finish. Although I wish this series didn’t have to end, I was very happy with the ending and the series as a whole! Kim did another fantastic job with her narration! After listening to her narrate this whole series, I have come to love her performances. She knows how to bring all of the characters and story to life, keep you entertained, and speaks at a steady paced with a smooth transition between characters. *I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I discovered this author a year ago and I am a big fan I own all her books even those written with Megan Linski. With each reading it is a favorite. I just finished this series, what can I say about my opinion on this series by that I loved the pen of Alicia Rades so addictive, a very touching story with endearing characters.
In this finale, we find the beautiful Crystal Frost who has been medium for a year now. Except after her car accident, she's so weak. She will feel a presence by her side: a ghost but not sure if she can do anything for him. As for her friend Derek, she is going through a difficult situation and Crystal is the only one who can't see anything. She will have to do everything to help her friend to get better, to allow the ghost to pass into the afterlife and to save herself.
Too eager to immerse myself in another book by this author, buy her books with your eyes closed. They deserve to be translated in France.
An awesome, T&YA fantasy & supernatural mystery. Crystal Frost, psychic, is back in action. This time, through a mishap, her abilities have been muted. She's not able to identify the new ghost. And a prediction leaves herself, her family, and friends in jeopardy.
Alicia Rades effectively portrays the inexperience and insecurity of a high school junior. Crystal's unwillingness to discuss the issues with family or friends made the story intense. It's unfortunate Alicia has not extended the series.
This book is by far my favorite out of all of the Crystal Frost series. The author took this story into a whole new Paranormal level and kept me entertained, but also on the edge of my seat throughout the entire time I was turning pages. The characters were phenomenal and the story-line was incredible, unique, and awesome. It made me into a true believer of the Paranormal world. I highly recommend this awesome read to all to enjoy!!
The author provided me with a digital copy of the book for review purposes only. No remuneration was exchanged.
I actually didn't care for this book as much as the one before, I did not feel like she matured at all and in fact regressed a little bit. Here she decides to not share with her support system what is happening to her. It just felt overly angsty. She spends most of the book agonizing over concerns that she has damaged her powers in an auto accident. She sees an odd ghost while on a campus tour. When she is told she will have to trade her life to save 3 loved ones. She decides she knows the when and where and determines to beat the prophecy. Interesting concept which kept me reading the series. But it was a quick fluff read. We all need those at times! 😎

It drives me crazy that Crystal just won't tell anyone anything. I do get that her mother is a useless airhead but she wouldn't come clean to anyone else, it would have made things much easier.
The story played like a 'best of' reel rather than an actual story and was the most boring of all the stories so far.
The last line made me laugh so hard. Crystal Frost Psychic. Yes, we know that. We read the stories that was kinda the point of them.
Crystal Frost continues her journey in the forth installment of the paranormal series. Your favorite characters from her previous stories return. Crystal fears she is losing her ability. Would it be nice to live a normal life? She ponders that, but it is clear that Crystal has come to terms with her power and wants to continue to embrace it. It is another enjoyable book in the series.
Talk about an ending to a series! Everything came crashing together in the last book of this series and it didn’t disappoint. Also, something I have to comment on…the covers are just stunning! The covers sold me on the books before I even got the series on my Kindle.
I would recommend this series to anyone that likes Paranormal Fantasy, Romance, Young Adult, and Supernatural books.
As with the rest of the books in this series I've enjoyed seeing Crystal grow and mature and this book is the best, when she has a terrifying visit she freaks at first then makes a decision to just live with it....or not. Alicia Rades has again written a fantastic and enjoyable book
By far the best ever!!!! I was so drawn in. I couldn’t look away from the pages. Again, I was so deep into the book I felt I was there. I felt I was living the same things Crystal was! Thank you!!!
At times I wanted to strangle Crystal for trying to do things on her own in this series. I was frustrated with her for lying to everyone the entire book. I must say that I did enjoy the ending though.
I received this book for free for a honest review. I loved the characters and storyline. it flowed very well and held together. Crystal and Emma were the most amazing. written so well . page turner !The narrator did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life. reccomend
I loved how this book wrapped the series up really well I absolutely love Crystal and her friends. The scene with hope in this book almost has me sobbing. Also I love seeing Teddy and Crystal bond more. My favourite character still has to be Robin though because he's just so dang sweet.
