In this stunning debut, Lauren Jameson presents a story of unexpected desire, where two strangers play a dangerous game in the quest for incredible pleasure. But winning comes with a price…

Tempted to Submit is part 1 in a new serial romance by Lauren Jameson. Each week we will do a mini review on the newest release. As most of you know, I have a love/hate relationship with the serial romance. Each week when the latest installment arrives on my kindle I jump for joy. And then each week when I read the last words of that installment I cry and curse at whatever happens to be near me. To me, that is the beauty of the serial and obviously I can’t quit them.

In Tempted to Submit we meet Devon. She is in a rough place. She has serious body image issues and has just discovered her boyfriend is cheating on her. To make matters worse, she works with her boyfriend and she was the last to know about the infidelity. Unable to face her coworkers she quits her job and leaves the area.

Enter Zach. Zach and Devon first see each other at a diner. Devon is gorging on comfort food and Zach is dining on fish and vegetables illustrating the gap between the two of them. Devon sarcastically invites Zach to join her and then spills out all the ugly details of her recent life. After a short encounter between the two Devon wakes up the next morning to find a card telling her that if she wants a job she has one at Phyrefly Aviation. Devon does not know that Zach is the CEO.

As mentioned, Devon is in a rough place. I think Ms. Jameson will use the relationship with Zach to bring her out of her shell and make her a stronger woman. In this first book she is not strong but mostly flailing around for her place in life. She has always lived under the shadow of someone else whether her parents or her ex-boyfriend. In her new job, she struggles with everyone thinking she has that job simply because of the boss and feels that everyone looks at her as his whore. And she struggles with knowing that she wants his dangerous, forbidden type of loving bad enough to suffer the speculation.

Tempted to Submit is done in first person from Devon’s point of view so we have nothing from Zach. In this first installment he is very hot and cold, mostly cold. While I have grown to like this pov, in some cases I would like to see behind the man. I will have to rely on Ms. Jameson to show me what Zach is feeling. How that plays out will largely determine my feelings on these books overall. For now, this is a strong start to a new serial and I am excited for the next part to be in my hands! Final grade- B

Favorite Quote:

“Devon.”

My heart jumping, I bent and looked back into the car. Zach was looking straight at me, and he looked ferocious.

“You are a temptation.”

“Thank you?” I had no idea what to say. I wished for, longed for, a sweet kiss good night, a brush of the hands, something….but then, he had warned me, he didn’t do gentle.

I was several steps away, my heels clicking on hte pavement with a much more decisive manner than I felt, when he again said my name. I turned, and saw that same fierce man watching me.

“Devon. You have no idea what you started.”

I saw someone mention Surrender to Temptation: Tempted to Submit on Twitter today and immediately went to check it out.

So, yes it is one of those serialized books that authors seem to be more inclined to write these days and while I am not a fan, I can’t deny the allure that draws me in and compels me to get involved and of course I then need to continue to read every week. I recently read Beth Kery’s Because You Are Mine serialized book and enjoyed it a lot so I decided to give this serial a try based on the fact it has a very similar vibe.

I’ve never heard of Lauren Jameson - but she’s Canadian (as am I) so she gets a nod from me just for that fact alone. Canadians rock!

Surrender to Temptation features millionaire mogul Zachariah St. Breton who’s a little on the dark, dangerous and intense side. Just the kind of guy every girl dreams about becoming involved with right? Curvy Devon Reid recovering from a broken heart and certainly an innocent when compared to Mr. Mysterious finds herself ensnared and captivated by Zach.

He warns her after one little interaction “You have no idea what you started”. Eeeeeep! Those are some pretty ominous words.

So the reader trap has been set and if I want to find out what Mr. St. Breton has in store for Devon and I‘m pretty sure it‘s gonna be hawt based on the little tidbits we‘ve been feed so far...I’m going to have to wait til next week when part 2 is released. Fortunately I got a good deal from Books on Board for the first 4 instalments so at least I have them pre-ordered. It looks like there may be 6 in total for the series.

I started reading and couldn't stop and then immediately bought part two and half done that already! I'm still not a fan of serial novels but eagerly awaiting the next parts never the less.

Been looking for a good chapter by chapter series and Tempted To Submit sounded interesting. Unfortunately I was not into it and could not get connected with the characters. I felt there was too much detail in the beginning on what Devon was doing leading up to when she first meets Zach. Already was losing interest by the time she met him. When she catches her fiancé cheating was not feeling her pain. Zach was not appealing at all. There was just not enough there for me to get into him. I needed to know more about him and his thoughts. Really I was not feeling his Hot and Cold. For me I need more sexual tension leading up to the hero and heroines first sexual encounter. They meet, he hires her, a night out later they have sex in the back of his car. The plot sounds so good and it does have potential but for me I wish the first part was more of a build up leading to their first sexual experience when she submits. That on a sad note I will not continue on Devon’s and Zach journey.

This is the first piece of Jameson’s work that I have read, but I can tell you now that I have already gone out and purchased everything I can find that she has written. I think, no, I know that I have discovered a new favorite erotica writer.

The first person perspective is unusual and extremely well done. I quickly became engrossed in Devon’s story and I could easily picture myself in her place! The action was fast paced and believable, the emotions tense and intriguing. I cannot wait to read the next part of Devon and Zach’s story. Part one was short and intense and incredibly erotic. I couldn’t put this story down. Oh wait, I didn’t want to put it down.

Thank you for a fabulous read Laruen! I look forward to more. Now if you’ll excuse me I’m off to curl up with Surrender to Temptation Part II: Tempted to Rebel! Oh My!

It's hard to review a serial series, so I guess I'll just review the pieces as separate entities.

Engaging.

Intense.

Confusing.

Alluring.

Just a few words that come to mind as I read the first part and before I could even check email or add this to my GR shelf I went in and bought part 2.

I know there are books out there that have the same tone as this one, but there's something about Mz. Jameson's voice that tugged at me far more than the famous names that have come before her. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed them, but this had something else that drew me in and wouldn't let me go.

This has everything you could want from a book. Even if I did swear just as much as Devon when I hit the end. ;)

6 Part Book Review

Surrender to Temptation Surrender to Temptation by Lauren Jameson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Tempting Stars

Surrender to Temptation is a mild BDSM read with a hint of dominance, steam and sexy billionaire Hero.

Devon walked in on her boyfriend cheating. She is devastated and decides to quit her job and move away. She ends up in a little town and as she eats dinner she sees a handsome stranger who can’t keep his eyes off of her. Zach is handsome, rich and is very dominate. He offers Devon a job at his company and Devon happily accepts.

Surrender to Temptation has everything a mild BDSM read needs.

Rich CEO billionaire with damaged past CHECK

Newbie submissive Heroine CHECK

Steamy BDSM scenes CHECK

Devon and Zach at first are attracted to each other and to my surprise it wasn’t insta-lust. There was nice tension and chasing on Zach’s part. Zach is very Dominate. He knows what he wants and what he wants is sex with Devon, but sex his way. He doesn’t do “vanilla” sex. Devon is jilted by her ex and she isn’t model thin so she doubts herself. When sexy Zach shows her interests, it’s hard for Devon not to follow his lead, even though she’s a bit scared.

Surrender to Temptation was an easy short read. I really did enjoy it and the steamy factor was nice. The tension between Devon and Zach is up and down. Zach is very hot and cold. Many times Zach pushes Devon away and I got a bit frustrated at the end. I wanted to tell Zach, “Okay enough!” I was happy that Devon wasn’t too much like a puppy and pushed Zach back a bit.

I’ve read a lot of BDSM reads, so I tend to go towards the darker, harsher reads, but every once in a while, it’s nice to read a short sweet one.

There we're too many on and off agains with the couple in this book and it didn't really seem like their issues were resolved and then they kind of got engaged out of no where at the end...It was a great idea for a storyline and I enjoyed the characters but it didn't feel finished at all...

I didn't hate it, but I didn't think it was okay either. This isn't really the fault of the writing. There just isn't enough of it there for me to give a real review of. It's the first part of a six part series of what should be a full novel. I hate that. Just write a full book. Don't drag it out for me to buy each piece and the series isn't even finished.

I don't really know much about the characters. As in a typical short story or novella, I believe I would have sussed out more of who they were or their dynamics. But in this case, I know that Devon walked into her new apartment, which she was to share with her boyfriend, to hear her boyfriend having sex with someone. She such a "good girl" she won't even go in to confront him and the woman, because she feels she may apologize for interrupting. Hello! Sub much. I'm mean that statement alone makes her submissive. Then she immediately quites her job, packs her bags and leaves town so she won't be humiliated at work, where He also works.

Then some random guy, who won't tell her much about him other than his first name approaches and sort of dominates her by way of just his personality, tells her to stay away from him, then promptly leaves her a business card saying if she needs a job go to this company. WHAT? She goes to the company gets the job, thinks she perceived as a whore in getting the job. How she didn't know that was going to happen is beyond me. Is humiliated and leaves only to have sex with the guy, who it turns out is the owner of the company, in the car before he promptly dismisses her. She could have been humiliated back in her old town at her old job.

Now she's working at some aviation company in San Francisco. What happened to wanting to be a lawyer? We know practically nothing about Zach St. Brenton. Other than he picks up women in diners. Has a hard on, literally, for the frumpy Devon (which it seems all the women in the company look at her in shock that he seems to only have eyes for her) and he's rich because he own the company that's housed in a twenty-six floor building.

You see how quickly I wrote that description? That's how long this story is. Again, I don't hate it but I don't like the manipulation of buying sections of a full story. Trilogy's or longer continuations of a series is one thing. This is just ridiculous. Won't read the rest.

I don't have much to say about this novella. Giving it 2 starts is quite generous. I do not like to slam books, so all I am going to say is not to waste your time reading this. It is unoriginal, and poorly written. It mirrors Anything He Wants meets Fifty Shades.

Ok - STEAMY. Still fanning myself. This is a serial. The character development is good, the story is good and the sex - well the sex is hot. Tragic life story for the female - then she finds the dominant rich billionaire. Gee got to find out how to get that rich. I am definitely hooked.
